Don't know why the reviews are so bad here. My wife and I have visited this particular Home Depot probably 10x this month. Each time we are greeted by employees working in the section we are shopping in, whether it's home and garden, power tools, or outdoor equipment. One time 2 employees came over and helped me load 20 bags of topsoil and river rocks onto my cart and did it with a smile on their face. Today we bought a pressure washer and the young man who helped us had clearly been raised right and trained right on customer service. We were very impressed for his professionalism despite his young age, as it's rare these days to find a young person with such work ethic. Terrible customer service stopped in to get a roll of wire scanned the little sign to get the cage unlocked 3 times after 20 mins of waiting there nobody showed up saw a women that worked there she called over the intercom for assistance in the electrical department once again after 5 mins nobody showed up then a had another employee come around the corner I'm thinking finally nope i asked him was he here to help me get the cage open to get the wire he said no he was looking for something else but he could go look for the key and then hurd another call over the intercom for someone with the key to come to the electrical department waited another 10 mins nobody showed up so we decided to leave and take our business to Lowe's And was in and out within 5 mins i would never recommend this place to anyone read more

Look, I love Home Depot as much as the next person. But I absolutely can't stand ever asking anyone for help at this location. At this point I'm assuming it's either cause I'm a chick or have alot of tattoos. Every single time I go to the online pickup area I'll wait in line (as you should you know) and if a man walks up to stand behind me they always tell him to come forward or to go over to returns and they'll help him. Like... bruh I've been standing in front of you for 10 minutes while you helped someone else (specifically ms. Elizabeth she's done this to me three times now). Honestly even just getting someone's attention is a chore because I just get ignored or they tell me the wrong location for something. I get it, it's not the best job. I purchased 4 appliances on 11/29/24 and selected a delivery date of 12/04/24. The microwave oven and stove were delivered and installed. The refrigerator was almost delivered but they weren't going to hook up the ice maker and didn't say why. After determining that the water connection for the old and new refrigerators were the same, I accepted delivery and disconnected and connected the copper water line. I still have no idea why they wouldn't do it. The dishwasher was delivered but the delivery person said someone else would install it. Two days later the installer showed up and saw a broken wire and connector and said the dishwasher needed to be replaced. I contacted Home Depot's customer service first by text which gave me a nonsensical response. So I called the customer service line and was told an inspector would have to look at it and I would be contacted. Nobody contacted me so I called and called and called. When I called on 12/16/24 I was told a new dishwasher would be delivered on 12/19/24. I said no I'll be away, how about 12/18/24. They said okay. 12/17/24 I get a call saying they can't deliver it 12/18/24 it will be delivered 12/19/24. I tell them I'll be away, they say work that out with the delivery company. On 12/18/24 a big white truck unexpectedly showed up but it wasn't a replacement dishwasher, it was the inspector. Later I got a call saying the earliest it could be delivered was 12/28/24 and a new dishwasher was delivered that date but the delivery person did not install it. No one contacted me so I had to contact customer service to set up an installation time. The installer showed up and didn't install it and passed it to some one else. The next installer set up a time and 3 hours into the 4 hour window called and said they couldn't come and wanted to try again the next day and I declined and told Home Depot they could have the dishwasher back. They came and got it. So after 6 weeks and numerous times having to be at home for 4 hour blocks, nothing was accomplished. So if you order anything from Home Depot and the installation is more complicated then plugging it in, you might want to go with someone else. read more

I found exactly what I was looking for on my visit. My problem is with the employee that got on my nerves without even helping me. He was actually disruptive and rude, and more importantly - he was very WRONG about the unqualified opinion he barked over his shoulder at me as he walked away, again, without helping me. He's an old paunchy, crotchety Caucasian guy who thinks he knows a thing or three about the trades, likely because he has been tinkering around as an amateur in his garage for 30+ years. He asked if I needed help and I said no, I had found what I was looking for, so he asked what I was working on, and after I told him the basics about my project he started yelling at me, "It won't work!!" as he started walking away mid-conversation. I bought my materials and completed my project, which worked out just fine like I knew it would, because surprise - I've worked professionally in the trades, not just piddling around in the basement or garage. The people installing unscrewed the water handles so much they were both leaking, ruined our basement ceiling. called HD "Customer Care" line manager HALEY hung up on me, when I told her we needed someone to come back out before the 4 weeks they gave us to repair. She said she called the installers and they said they did not break. Odd that we only had a leak after the install and they installed and removed. Today was the day I restarted my garden. I needed alot of soil. My first trip I bought 14 bags. Rose approached me and asked if I needed help loading the cart. I said no. Mostly because once I got home, I would have to unload by myself. I ended up having to make another trip to get 14more bags. Rose recognized me and asked if I needed help. This time , yes I accepted. Together we powerhoused getting the bags on the cart. Tyler came over, scanned the bags and had me ready to check out after I picked up a couple of more plants. I drove my car around. There Tyler and Abdul stacked my car with all the bags. The cart was so heavy it kept rolling. Rose picked up a small rock and used it as a wheel stop to keep it still. I was like, damn good Idea. I went in this location tonight with the intention of buying two gallons of paint. As it turned out, they didn't have the particular color that I was looking for. This wasn't the problem however. Upon exiting the store, I walked up to the nearest employee that was available. Cynthia was attending the self service check out terminals. I simply asked her this store's location, because I figured I would try out their other location in Manassas so that I could find the color that I needed. Cynthia looked at me, then looked away and barked at me 'I don't know!!' I asked again 'excuse me? Do you not know this location?' She then just stomped away with her head down. How rude! DO NOT BUY DELIVERABLE APPLIANCES from this Home Depot. Home Depot is great for quick parts/ tools etc. But please, don't buy anything deliverable ( i.e fridge, dishwasher etc.). I'll start with the latest... We spent over $2,300.00 on a new fridge. I took off work and burned vacation time and as scheduled the moving team came with the fridge. First lines were, " the guys don't feel comfortable moving it up the stairs (15 stairs, single-family) without the proper equipment.." I asked what type of moving equipment they needed to go up a few stairs from which they answered...the standard moving straps (that every mover/team should have). I called the Home Depot line on the order confirmation email. It connected me to an at-home Home Depot representative. She confirmed that all movers in the NOVA area are required to be prepared for 3 stories of stairs. She apologized and stated that due to the Christmas season it would be another week before they could come back out. I called the 1st store manager. He seemed polite and told me he'd find out why the moving team wasn't prepared to move stuff, and see what he could do...Never heard back from that guy. I called the next day. Spoke to the 2nd store manager (competent and polite) who apologized for the inconvenience of burning vacation time, waiting around for information and essentially pretending to enjoy a multi-thousand dollar piece of metal that we purchased. This polite manager told me that the vendor put a re-schedule date for Dec 16, which was 6 days away....fine..He stated they would give time frames of the delivery the night before (i.e 1030-230 etc.). Sunday night the day before delivery....Waiting for the confirmation so I know whether to take off work AGAIN. We get nothing. Call and speak with the assistant manager who states that it is scheduled but that there are no times indicated. I end up taking off AGAIN. Monday morning...Call Home Depot and ask for the store manager...Operator asks, "Tools" or something along the lines...I say store manager again...sends me to Tools...I hang up and call again and ask for the store manager...The operator sends me to Tools again...I ask for the store manager..phone tag, hold, transfer...I hang up. Call the store manager an hour later and she says there is no delivery time frame, but she'll find out for me!!! Yeah...no.... Never got a call back. This whole thing mimics the situation when we ordered a dish washer about 8 months ago...Guys showed up with the wrong equipment/ wrong hose etc... Home Depot was great. But this is/ was a nightmare man. The overall lack of coordination, customer relations, and ability to deliver equates to a complete business failure. This review comes from a customer who had Home Depot as a #1go-to store. Don't get me wrong, the people are nice and helpful when you go in on the floor. Great floor team. The installer ripped the linoleum in two places putting in a dishwasher. Claim was denied. FSA Logistix/ Sedgewick decidse whether they are accountable for damages!!! Horrible company, bad reviews every where. Home Depot's Customer Care staff say we can't help you if FSA Logistix/ Sedgewick denied the claim because they are the responsible party. I came home this past Thursday after work to find a puddle of water in my basement. I immediately knew what happened. The water heater failed. I was upset because it leaked back in December of 2017 and I had a home warranty, called them and a company came out but didn't notice anything wrong because it had stopped leaking. I paid my deductible of $100 and the guys were on their way. I let the warranty end because it was costing me more than what it was worth at the time. Fast forward to this week and now I'm scrambling to clean up the water. Fortunately I have a carpet cleaner that was a lifesaver. So I decided to take a chance and call my local Home Depot. The website said that if I called before noon they could have someone out on the same day. The flyer on the website didn't say anything about same day repair. Unfortunately I called after 5PM. I was thinking I'd get a call the next day and someone would come out put me on a schedule to have the new water heater put in and the whole process would be like normal jobs and take almost a week from call, visit and inspection to scheduling to have the work done. That was not the case. I called Home Depot that Thursday when the unit failed. A representative called me back within the hour and schedule a company to come out the next day. She gave me options on the phone that included the cost of the unit and the cost of the labor with taxes and permit fee included. The contacting company consisted of two guys who were very professional, thorough and FAST. They had my old water heater out, new one including an expansion tank insgalled, all pipes and joints sealed and tightened in under an hour. For an extra small fee I even had them to replace the main house water shutoff. It had failed and was no longer working. They were very professional. Poor customer service. Go in there to look for railing for my drawer and ask for help. One employee comes out and says I will go get someone who can help you in this department. No show for 8 minutes. Then I go back and ask for someone else, then two clues less women comes and just sits there opens an item and tells me no we don't have it and started packing an item while I stand there like an idiot. Been here a number of times for the various diy projects going on in our house. The day crew is nice and helpful, especially in the plants department. There was one older gentleman in particular who helped me find orchid and cactus dirt who was super nice. I remember him especially because he smiled a lot. The evening crew however is another story. The woman in the plumbing section in the evening is incredibly rude and didn't even try to listen to us. She just started pulling stuff off the shelf and handing it to us. Most of which we ended up putting back because it wasn't what we needed. I will never come back to this store. The customer service is extremely rude and combative with customers. Rudy told me to go to a register to get propane filled and after waiting in line for 20 minutes I was told that I couldn't get the refill and I had to go back to customer service. I then waited in line another 15 minutes to Rudy being extremely annoyed that a customer would date come to customer service for assistance. Before she could tell me what appeared to go back to another register I told her that they sent me back here to get the propane filled. She then started to constantly role her eyes at me and I asked her what her problem was abs she didn't need go role her eyes and be combative with me I'm just trying to get out of here. A 10 minute trip turned into over a hour. I asked for the district managers number she said no I'll call the manager told another customer service person to deal with me got on the phone and talked about me. BAD DELIVERY SERVICE....I bought a suite of appliance$ on November 2, 2018. I schedule my delivery for Friday, November 10th. The night before, I received a confirmation call that my appliance$ would be delivered November 10th. They never showed up. After calling to find out why and hearing their excuse my delivery was rescheduled for November 23rd. I received no confirmation call. So, I called again, to learn my delivery date was change to Monday, November 26th without my knowledge. (They don't even deliver on Mondays and I work on Mondays!) Shopped here over Memorial Day weekend and picked up some Black and Decker battery charged tools--hedge clipper and weed whacker. Also got 100 2-cubic foot bags of mulch. They let me get them on "will call" so I could take four trips of 25 bags. They helped load the bags. I also ordered a new storm door for the front door. They came out to measure and said it was a "standard" install for $97. When the guy came out to install, he noticed that there would be some more work. I said if it costs more, I will pay, and he said, no it was their fault. He spent two hours putting all new trim and other stuff to make it fit nice and tight. We was pleasant the whole time, and stayed until 8:30 PM, which amazed me. Great customer service at every stage even at the service desk where they made some adjustments and ensured I could get everything on one bill so I could take advantage of o% financing for 12 months. I checked Lowes, and the same B&D weed whacker was $20 higher, and the same mulch for $2.00 was $2.69, so I figure I saved about $90 on this outing, at least!!! I have had a lot of luck with this Home Depot. The specialist in the plumbing section helped me save a good bit of money by giving me some alternative methods to solve a problem. The paint guys have big a big help too. The folks in appliances went out of there way to help my wife get a refund on a machine, and even called us to let us know that a particular machine was going back to regular price. Been coming here for quite some time and never had any issues until today. Gettimg custom paint was like pulling teeth! The 2 people in the paint department this morning must be seasonal help. I asked for 2 different color cards. First I was told, "We don't have those." I asked, if you did, where would they be. I was pointed in that direction and immediately found the paint card! I kindly let the gentleman know that I did find it & perhaps they did carry that color. Secondly, the lady working there came over to help me find the 2nd color card. Making a purchase was a pain. At least six cashiers standing around the customer service desk playing on their phones, taking forever. My husband and I were making a large purchase and he looked at me like, seriously? Does no one care here??? Then told to pick up purchase on Friday after it is assembled and we are called and it should be done by around 1 or 2. Friday comes and it's after 4 and no call. I call and a very rude girl who talks VERY fast, clearly on purpose , answers and puts me on hold for about 20 minutes. (I know now how "busy" they are at that customer service desk!) When she gets back to me she states loudly and curtly that I can pick it up this week and if I don't they'll put it back on the floor for sale! Hello? Didn't I say I wanted to go pick it up and was waiting for the call??? She repeats her curt and loud response, sounding very rude, and I tell her that I am going to get it. I went to home depot in the intent to purchase the a new washer for my home. I did my research at home using consumer reports and found my self a the correct washer. After that, i looked at pricing between sears, bestbuy, lowes, and home depot. It turns out that sear had the lowest price, but home depot was closer to my home. I knew that home depot does price match, so I decided to go to home depot. I got there had to wait about 20 min, because they only had 1 person working in that department and she was helping another customer. After a while someone very nice approached my in the cabinetry department and asked if they could help. I told her that I wanted to purchase the washer, gave her the model#, and showed her the price match. She then called her manager Mike, who stated that sear might be going out of business...so no price match. I was shocked, I told her to call the manager and come speak to me. She then called again, and told me that he said that we can give you $50 discount, but we cannot price match. The price match difference was $94 dollars. Then she said, if the item is at sear is sitting at the store location and its doesn't have to be ordered....then we will do it. I asked her, do you have the item in stock...she said NO, we have to order it as well. I was really upset, because the Manager didn't know Home Depot Policy. I went home and read the policy Home depot Low Price Guarantee and it didn't make any sense to why they didn't price match. Friendly and personable staff. I want to outline their new adopted Military Discount Process for those curious to know: You no longer are able to just say or show your Military/Government ID or Veteran's Status Card at the register and receive the 10% off. You must go to the Contractor Pro Service Desk and see a designated employee to essentially "set-up" an account. You will be required to provide valid, non-expired verification and give your most basic personal information to set up the account. From then on in...until your current ID expires (at this time you assumedly will be asked to provide new verification)...you will use your registered phone number like a Consumer Pro Account number and enter it on the credit card machine prior to paying for your purchase. It is after you do this, that the cashier will approve the 10% discount and it will be applied to your purchase total. I hope this helps. It may seem frustrating considering it does take some extra time on the first visit, but hey we're getting 10% off all purchases! It only took me an extra four minutes and I was set! Beware of Home Depot! Be Careful! Home Depot is convenient. They have a lot of tools and supplies for various projects from carpentry to plumbing to windows and doors to lawn and garden. You go there; you get what you need; you leave. Most of the people are nice and willing to help you. If you want to do something simple, get some mulch or grass seed, then fine. But if you're working on a challenging project - some serious gardening or installing a new home appliance - then go to a place where they have real professionals that can give you the right advice. Precious wanted a new kitchen faucet. We got one, and I installed it. It looked nice in the store, but the materials were plastic. It was a piece of junk for $200+. So we took it back. We decided to get a deeper sink and a new faucet. We bought a sink and a matching faucet (the faucet was a piece of junk too so we took it back and got a decent one at a plumbing supply store). When we got the sink, we were careful to pick a sink that looked like it hadn't been previously purchased. The problem was with the sink. Home Depot sold it to us without the required clips that anchor it to the counter. We went back, and a customer service rep sent us to a guy named Greg who recommended some clips. When we got back home we tried to use them, but they weren't suitable for the type of sink we had. So we called the manufacturer and were told that the clips were supposed to come in the box with the sink. O we were so mad. We wasted half the afternoon trying to get that thing to work. Home Depot didn't make sure that the products they stocked had all the required parts and instructions. And then they gave us bad advice and sold us the wrong product for the job. Sure they rectified it. The manager opened up another box and got the clips and instructions and they accepted the returned items. But still - we wasted half the day, and we were very upset. If you're working on a project, and you don't know exactly what to do and what parts you need, then you will be making a big mistake if you go to Home Depot. Their driver did not step up to my door and knock, but proceeded to deliver the lumber and caused hundreds of dollars in damage to my lawn. Granted townhouse homes don't usually have the beautifully manicured lawns, but my lawn was maintained by me, and mowed by the HOA-selected landscape company. Lowes, not Home Depot, caused this damage- so take this as a positive tribute for Home Depot on Liberia Avenue. Anyway, Lowes replaced my damaged grass in swaths of sod. That's fair. They told us to water the lawn 2-3 times a day but not during the hottest time of the day; that's fair too, and we did that. Four (4) weeks later, the lawn had some green grass, even though the first 3 weeks it was brown due to the hot and humid weather. I finally picked up the sticks and string that demarked the area as a no-walking zone, even though the neighbors aren't usually great about that anyway. The lawn was back to being green and lush at that, and then the landscaping people mowed it down like they were supposed. My HOA-selected landscape company did what they were supposed to and I have no problems with them, because the grass should have been able to recover. It did not! Lowes on the other side of town is now playing games with us for reparations to my lawn that I personally had to see 3 years in a row and tell people to stop trampling. Lowes has failed to properly repair my yard with grass that is stable and healthy for my lawn. Lowes does not believe in proper customer service or corporate social responsibility. I have videos, not camera pictures of the damage so I cannot provide data beyond my words. If you are shopping at Lowes, you are doing your neighbors a great disservice. read more
