This Home Depot location seems to have gotten better within the last few years as they must've had a managerial as well as a personnel change. Whoever the manager was they had about six years ago I heard he transferred him to another store in Baldwin County and all I have to say about that is good riddance! Just moved here from up north. Needed about 10 bags of mulch. Struggled to get them on a flat cart and made my way to pay for it. I asked for help to take it to my car and was told there is no one to help. I am 69 and can't lift heavy items into my car anymore. We went to this store to grab a few things for a project. While we were trying to figure out where the hardware we needed was located, Ms. Dnitia (I hope I'm spelling that right) from the paint area noticed us looking a bit lost. She kindly offered to help, and instead of just pointing us in the to a area that could of been wrong as happens most the time when a store associate helps me, she actually took the time to escort us and search for the parts together. In just a few minutes, we found everything we needed! I can honestly say that without her assistance, we would have left the store empty-handed. I needed a 40 volt Ryobi chainsaw and they now are forced to keep them locked up because of store theft. I asked an associate to unlock the case so I could buy one. I've seen turtles move quicker than this person. After waiting at least 10 minutes for speedy, I finally gave up and ordered it on line. Customer service could use a bit of improvement. read more

This store is an absolute nightmare. I nearly fell over pallets left haphazardly strewn about in the garden section by thier lazy employees. I risked my life and health because people here do not water the overpriced roses they sell, they are practically dead! Nothing was in stock but according to the app, everything I could not find at this store was in stock. Lies. Shop at Lowes, this store is a nightmare. UPDATE: Home Depot called me to try to correct this issue. Home Depot corporate called me to try and help resolve the issue. She put the Daphne store manager in touch with me to work it all out. I was told that I would need to purchase the toolbox again for $925.00 and they would bring the new toolbox out on 12/20/23. At the time they brought the new one, they would pick up the damaged one. Once the damaged one was returned to the store I would be credited the $975.00 for the original purchase. So now, I have purchased this toolbox twice and still just have the one damaged one. I received a call back from the Daphne store manager, Alicia Triplett, this past Saturday to let me know that they messed up the second order as well and now that order was canceled. They stated that it was refunded but I have not seen that money back yet. THEY THEN WANTED ME TO PURCHASE IT A THIRD TIME TO MAKE IT WORK!! These people have lost their minds. I told them no. The Daphne, AL store is not running properly. I will keep the original toolbox at this point and I just wanted them to refund some of the price discounted off the original order. They did send me a credit of $400 and something dollars toward the original purchase so I am guessing this will be resolved IF I do indeed receive all the money back they have promised. HOWEVER, I WILL NEVER AS LONG AS I LIVE BUY ANOTHER ITEM FROM HOME DEPOT. What a nightmare. ORIGINAL ISSUE: I purchased a very large Husky brand toolbox for my husband for Christmas. I took the day off from work to have it delivered to my house. I had my neighbor take the morning off as well to help me and to hide it at their house until Christmas as we still like to surprise one another on Christmas. My delivery window was from 6 am to 10 am on 12/04/2023. 10 am came and went and no contact from the store. I called them at 10:30 and was told they were running 2 hours behind. I called work and told them I would be a bit later than expected. 1 pm came and went and still no contact and no delivery. I called again and was told it was still coming but just late. My neighbor had to leave to go to work and I was on my own. Home depot finally showed up at 8 pm and my husband was home from work by this point so Christmas was ruined AND the tool box has several places where it was damaged!!! I did not know until we unwrapped the plastic from it and by this point I had already signed for it and the delivery driver was gone. Home Depot will do nothing about it and now I am stuck with a ruined Christmas and an expensive damaged toolbox. As long as I live and breathe air, I will NEVER shop there again! read more

I'm by no means a fan of these big box stores but since they are basically the only remaining options when it comes to buying hardware in large quantities I decided to stop - why this location, I was traveling back home to Florida to prepare my home for the onslaught of Hurricane Irma and figured the closer I got to Florida the chances I'd find what I'd need would be much less. This store was fully stocked, I was somewhat surprised that plywood was already being rationed (15 sheets per customer) with the threat still being days away. I found what I needed - checked out and was on my way back to I-10 in only a few minutes. Worst shopping experience ever. Went in to buy a Dewalt trimmer and blower combo. Knew what I wanted, and the store had it in stock. Found what I wanted in the department and looked for someone to get it out of the locked cage. Unable to find anyone in the area I asked the worker in the paint if there was someone who could help me. She just told me I had to fine someone in garden center. On my way to garden center that I had already tried to find someone in I asked a person up front if there was someone who could help me. She said she would have to call for someone. I went back to the aisle to wait. After 15 more minutes I went back to the register while my wife waited. I spoke to a different person in customer service who said she would call for someone. I heard the announcement go out over the speakers to for assistance. I waited even longer till my patience was all gone. Nobody should have to wait over 45 minutes trying to get assistance to spend money. What makes it even worse is the store was not even busy with customers. There were also other customers unhappy looking for assistance. I'll take my money somewhere else going forward. read more

Overall the staff is helpful and the store well stocked BUT I was extremely disappointed in the custom blinds dept. The displays were outdated and the associate couldn't find stock info about the display so that I might order it. She indicated she would research it and call me but she never did. Bottom line-- for custom blinds go to another HD location.. or another store altogether. read more

I purchase some pine straw rolls from the Home Depot on Schillingers Road and Airport Boulevard. The pine straw rolls were filled with mildew. Weeds and twigs throughout the rolls. This was the worst pine straw I have ever purchased. they need to clean up their act or clean up the pine straw rolls. This is a horrible mess why would Home Depot sale this mildew infested pine straw to a customer they should be ashamed. read more

There are three stores like this that I frequent. The first is Ace's hardware at University and Old shell. They have remarkably professional people who know so much and really help advise. Their prices are the highest. The other two Home Depot and Lowes are large and competitive. If you need garden anything then Lowe's is the shop because of the people. If you need hardware etc or advice on anything Home Depot is wonderful although their people are busier than at Ace's. It will take a bit longer but it is cheaper. I recently went into Home depot with a problem with a plugged drainage line from an air-conditioner. The associate serving me was terrific....he picked out a few options and when I asked which one I should buy he said all of them...fix the problem and return the ones that did not work..."this is Home Depot"... we want you to be able to do what you set out to do and then you will come back....wow...okay.... they have made themselves a customer....thanks guys...! read more

I bought a Toro self propelled walk behind lawn mower. The drive broke within 30 days. The in store associate I talked to said he bought one too and his broke down too and now he just pushes it without the drive. I fixed it myself. Now less than a year later a grass directing baffle broke and drags thus acting like an anchor. I called 5 times before someone would talk to me. They couldn't have cared less, not their problem. I'll have to fix this myself too, hours of my time not to mention I can't cut the grass. Funny, I was going to buy a new smoker from them this week. Not any more. Don't buy the Toro and don't buy from this store. read more

Overall I recommend that consumers stay away from the home depot when considering purchasing appliances from this store. I bought a dishwasher in late November and made the mistake of paying Home Depot to install. Be aware they do not stand behind the installation. They hire the cheapest possible company they can and that is exactly what you get. The company that was supposed to install dishwasher hired out a kid in a truck. He installed dishwasher and he thought he did it correctly because there was not water on floor after installation. Water had leaked into my sub floor and my wood floors are severely warped. Home depot sent it to their insurance company and now I have had to work with 2 other companies. None of these companies are working to resolve this issue, as each are trying to pass to other company. If Home depot was a honorable company they should take lead and have issue resolved. I paid installation to Home depot and they are denying responsibility. Overall stay away from Home depot , they really dont care about their customers. read more

YIKES, what a mess! Do NOT, i repeat, NOT entrust this team at this location to be of any help. We came into the store wanting to purchase new carpet for our home. The 'carpet expert' placed our order and said someone from home office will call with confirmation on when a team member authorized to take measurements can come out to our home. No problem. Day of the measurement came, NO CALL. We called the store and was told, the rep entered the phone number incorrectly therefore the day is wasted and has to be rescheduled. Mind you, this is a working business day, as if when told someone would come during the four hour window, we must be there. Fine, day was rescheduled. Next day...phone call was made, man on the phone states, he will be there within the four hour window. I take off work, head home. SEVEN HOURS later, an unprofessional individual shows up at my house. I look outside, he was accompanied by a girlfriend in some vehicle, seven hours late. Really? Did you lie to your employer, ran personal errands than decided to show up??? Not acceptable. After a quick ten minutes measuring my home, he said the company will email me the measurements and estimates. Can't help but to wonder, so if it took you ten minutes to measure my home, you called me this morning stating give you four hours standard requirement for an appointment, what in the world, how many houses or so called errands did you have to do before arriving. Ridiculous. So us consumers, pays a company a petty measuring fee of $30, to have our time wasted, frustration for days, and not to mention, the cost of the carpet would of been $3,000. If possible, I would report this to the better business bureau instantly. Save yourself, shop at Lowe's. read more

To Military and veterans- Home Depot on Schillinger Rd. excludes certain categories of product lines from the military discount. I use this store sometimes 2 to 3 times daily. I have noticed that as the end of the month draws near, the military discount is excluded from several categories of products. After the 1st of the month the discount returns. I am in the middle of a water well repair project. Yesterday, I purchased some plumbing items and was given the discount. Today, I purchased about $200.00 worth of plumbing items and found that there was no discount. I contacted HD via their web site and was told the military discount is good on all in-stock items, BUT, the store has the flexibility to change that. I have shopped the other HD stores in Mobile and have never had a problem at any time. It appears this store is unique. Don't know if this is fact but it seems this store may be using the military discount to help meet their monthly sales goals. I will no longer shop at the HD on Schillinger Rd. Lowes offers the same discount and I have never had a problem there. Also, HD reduces refund amount for returned items by a percentage. Lowes refunds the full purchase price. read more

I have to agree with the other reviewers here, this Home Depot is a mess! When it first opened up about 10 or so years ago it was a very good store and was managed very well but nowadays it has gone to the dogs. I went there recently to get an electrical device for a ceiling fan and the guy working back there was as lost as a blind man in a blizzard! Every question I asked him he was like "duh, I don't know...uhhh" so straight to Lowes I went and found what I was looking for. For the exception of a small few the workers there are useless and one of them even copped a little bit of an attitude with me so (again) straight to Lowes I went and got much better friendlier service. This has happened several times in the past 5 or so years and recently I have found myself driving straight past Home Depot and going to Lowes which is just a 1/4 mile away from this Home Depot. Until this store gets better management and better employees I won't be going here anymore. read more
