On July 9th, we ordered an induction stove for $1,455.84 from Home Depot. It was delivered early on (Sat) July 26 with a 7 minute notice call. 3 Workers brought the stove, but did not install it. They hauled away my old stove for $50. Heavy cardboard blocking the oven opening. No oven racks or air fryer tray. I (73) moved & wired (220v) the stove myself. After spending half the day on the phone with Home Depot, they determined the workers left these items on the truck. WE were told they would return and drop off these items. They did not. I would like these items as the oven is unusable without them. I would not recommend buying ANY appliance / large ticket item from home depot. read more

I prepaid on my Pro extra app. It directed me to go to a pick up space and push the spot I'm in . Long story short after 4 employees didn't know what I was talking about I went to the service desk. After walking around and driving to (3) different locations I was ready to give up. It was 3 hrs to get (12) bundles of insulation! Never again will I visit that location! This review is being left for the company itself. I purchased windows for my home and had them installed by Home Depot. The salesman that came to my home said it was a lifetime guarantee and I believed him. I just called Home Depot to honor that "lifetime" guarantee (paid over $5,000 to install 5 windows). And they told me that it's not a lifetime guarantee and they can send me a copy of my contract. I told them I have the contract in front of me and it clearly says lifetime guarantee. The lady (Jackie, install manager) then said things have changed and the way the world is today we cannot honor that warranty. This is unfair. I would've ordered and installed the windows myself had I known they would not honor their warranty. I am just reporting how this company operates so people see. Thank goodness I did not let them install my roof. I ordered the metal roofing and installed it by myself. I wish someone feom the company could reach out to me and let me know why they are not honoring a contract that was signed by the installer of the windows and myself at the point of sale. Every employee I asked for help was friendly. One of them actually knew stuff and worked hard to get me the assistance I needed. Everything they said was in stock was in fact in stock, although I was disappointed that they didn't have more available inventory for one particular appliance (an over-the-range microwave, in case you are curious). The employee working the checkout desk got me out the door quickly, and the things I bought actually worked. 2 months ago I walked into Home Depot in Monticello to order (5) windows. BTW it took over (2) months to get delivered. The salesperson helped me pick the windows I needed than they sent me (5) names from pro Referral, an outside vendor they use. Four out of (5) were horrendous I thought. Their communication skills were poor, inappropriate language & (4) wanted me to do the measuring. The one that came to my house was a man " Marco, Marco Team professionals" who was polite, seem to know what he was doing. I thought I noticed He never opened the windows. which is necessary to get an accurate window. He was outside doing the measurements. Then he stopped by Home Depot spoke to the salesman who he convinced he knew what he was talking about. The windows were ordered, paid for & the delivery was delayed. Eventually, I text Marco telling him the windows arrived. He never responded. I stopped by Home Depot to tell them this. They called him & he said, he would contact me. He text me & advised me he had taken another job. I hired a carpenter who picked up the windows, & it turned out Marco Team measured incorrectly. I called Home Depot, spoke to a manager who didn't call me back, so I went there directly w the carpenter. The carpenter explained why this Marco didn't have a clue what he was doing & explained thoroughly why. The manager Joe Cam gave me credit & said, he was going to review with the salesperson & would call me back. He never did ! I didn't give up since I e been going to Home Depot for over 20 years purchasing construction materials for my coop building in NYC & my house here upstate. I went to Middletown I spoke to Susan Brechner-Nocera a true professional who asked all the right questions, called my carpenter drilled him w more questions in detail & the order went in. We actually prefer Home Depot over similar stores, because they seem more organized and carry quality products. And we are business owners that spend thousands with Home Depot every year. Our bad experience today was due an employee. Granted, tensions are high because of COVID-19, but this was totally bad behavior. We ordered tinted stain for our deck, and was told it would be about 10 minutes. In the meantime, picked up a new microwave (my 20+ year old microwave actually bit the dust), and decided we would go ahead and get a new charcoal grill. About 10 minutes later went back and was directed to a paint pickup area. So we waited, and waited, and waited (probably 20 minutes), and my husband went to ask the progress. Was told rudely that when it was ready it would be at the paint pickup area. In the meantime we're watching others pick up their paint, and we had been there much longer than them. So he waited close enough to where he could see and hear. The other employee working with the rude one saw that our stain was ready, and asked the rude one was that the stain. The rude one told her no, that she would get it and smiled. Then they purposely sanitized the area and made us wait some more (granted this is during COVID-19). So he went back up to them again, and asked is that my stain? Have I suffered enough? The rude one asked, "what did you say ... did you suffer enough?" He returned yes that he did, and that we would leave now without making any purchase. We did call the manager after we left, and he only stated he would make a note of it??? read more

ONCE AGAIN HOME DEPOTS GIVES TERRIBLE "SERVICE!" Just to warn folks against purchasing appliances which require installation, such as dishwashers or refrigerators or stoves, etc, from Home Depot. This is the third time I attempted to purchase a large appliance from Home Depot and as usual when the installers got here, they could not install for one reason or another. Issues which should have been explained to me, the consumer, when I made the purchase to begin with. So now they expect me to pay an electrician AND a plumber to make the required changes they claim are required before they can install the dishwasher. Now for a plug. APPLIANCE CITY in Monticello, is the BEST! Not only are they able to get the exact model at the same price I wanted from Home Depot, but they have no problem installing with the electric and plumbing that is already in place AND I am getting a $50 rebate to boot. I have purchased appliances from Appliance City before and have always been happy with the results, but alas, my failing memory caused me to forget they existed and go to Home Depot instead. NEVER AGAIN. I almost forgot! To add insult to injury, they took my money in seconds but are making me wait a week to return it. Swines. In July 2021, we signed the paperwork with the Senior Design Consultant@Home Depot for window replacement/installation project in our summer house in Monticello, NY. I opened a Home Depot credit card as part of the deal and began repaying the deposit for this project (09/08 - $500; 10/07/ - $200; 11/09 - $200; $900.00 all together). In August, we got our windows measured by another Home Depot employee. In October, we scheduled the date for installation - 11/20, Saturday. We were very specific about a Saturday appointment as we live in Brooklyn and can only come every other Saturday. For the past three weeks (before 11/20), we would get reminders a few times a week - via text messages, e-mails, and voice mails - about the upcoming installation date asking us to be in the house between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. and reminding us about the importance of removing everything 3 feet away from the windows. As law abiding and loyal customers, we came Friday night (11/19) to follow the instructions. At 8:00 (!!!) a.m., we got a phone call from an installation department manager who told us that they had to cancel an appointment since they didn't have installation crew... He did not apologize and failed to answer when I asked him if he had found out about that issue at 7:55 a.m. on Saturday. I thought I'd put in a good word for the Home Depot in Monticello. It is the only Home Depot in Sullivan County, which gives this establishment a special burden, as representative of the Home Depot chain in one of the most hardware-dependent localities on the face of the earth. Anyone who resides in Sullivan County can attest that the entire region can use a bit of fixing up, and Home Depot serves the purpose adequately. It definitely is the best stocked hardware emporium in the vicinity. While Wal-Mart is a bit cheaper for stuff like glue, the selection at Home Depot is much better. There are the usual gardening supplies. Now, I'm giving 'em three stars and not more because the staffing here sucks. I've found that the people who work here often have no idea what's on the shelves. Also the gardening supplies are OK, but the selection of plants isn't great. Since Home Depot arrived in Sullivan County the small hardware stores closed up shop. even Ace hardware closed up in Monticello and now in Liberty, also. There are areas that they are good for and a lot where they are lacking. All of the poor reports that I have read I believe as I have had similar experiences. If you are a tradesman, a plumber or electrician the items are better quality and cheaper at your regular supply house. Some commodity items are exactly the same, e.g., 14 gauge and 12 gauge NM cable. Galvanized Conduit HD is cheaper. Most other items your supply house is a better bet. They advertise Home Depot Pro. This only applies to Home Depot Painters. I may be one of the best electricians in Sullivan County but I get the same price as my customer. Takes away from the meaning of PRO. They advertise in the trade publications, but they have nowhere near the variety that is trade specific. The best thing is to know what you are buying and shop around. As of today, they are limiting the number of customers to 100 at a time. read more

My security camera shows they were never there. They will willing to reschedule delivery 5 days later. The refrigerator was on the truck and that was my only option. I've been patronizing the Home Depot in Monticello, NY, for about 15 years, on and off. On when service improves. Off when it's back in the dumper. I have patronized other locations as well over the years, and have had good and terrible experiences -- Home Depot always seems to be a mixed bag at best. And I spend a good amount of money each year on home improvement items and gardening supplies. A few years ago I started going to Home Depot again after years of doing most of my shopping elsewhere because service had improved. Unfortunately, it looks like the store is back to sub-standard service. I can't even necessarily fault the customer service employees -- they are generally courteous and try to help, but often they are hampered by non-working hardware/technology or lack of adequate staffing. The cashiers are generally OK and, to be fair, other aspects of the store are good -- it's not all bad. But customer service is important and it is definitely not in the "good" category. The latest experiences: I tried to order mulch online from this store. Online, mulch was shown as possibly being out-of-stock, I was unable to place an order, and an online message told me to call the local store in Monticello. I did, and they confirmed that they had plenty in stock. But the online chat representative and the Monticello store customer assistance could not update the online message or remove the restriction that prevented me from placing an order online for pickup from the Monticello store. Talk about bad business! It took about 30 minutes for me get a phone order done instead because the Monticello Home Depot was short staffed. Online orders are to supposed to save the customer time, but this experience cost me more time than if I had just gone to the store and bought the mulch outright, assuming no complications (yes, I know this is a big assumption). Complications/delays with online orders and long waits to pick up orders happen all the time at Home Depot. I should have known better. Also, on my last 2-3 visits, employees on the Floor were very obviously avoiding eye contact with me so they would not have to assist me. I stood about 5 feet away from one with the "please help me" look just to see what would happen, and when he saw I was not leaving, walked away pretending not to see me. My impression was that this is now habitual in this store and this seems to indicate a lack of oversight and enforcement by management. This had never happened so blatantly and frequently before. To Home Depot management -- check your security cameras once in a while to see how your employees interact with customers and walk the Floor once in a while just to see what's going on. If you are training your Floor staff to ignore customers to perform other tasks, that's a terribly misguided policy. Finally, when is Home Depot going to station a couple of staffers at the front of the store, especially during busy times, to direct customers, as soon as arrive, to the right aisles? They did this for a while, and then stopped. It would also be great if Home Depot installed some stations around the store where customers could signal that they need help and they could wait there for assistance instead of walking around endlessly looking for the elusive available employee who is not avoiding eye contact. But then again, employee culture is everything, and the way it is now, those waiting customers would probably get ignored. I'll probably still go to Home Depot for a few items here and there, but I will be going back to the other options I had been using that have better customer service (or cheaper prices if customer service is equally lacking). All in all, if you value good customer service and your time is important to you, take your business elsewhere. read more

Terrible customer service experience today at the Home Depot in Monticello, NY! I needed to buy a window shade cut to order. I entered the store at 5:00 pm to purchase the shade and left at 5:25 pm without ever having been helped. No one was in Flooring to help me or three other customers waiting for blinds and flooring to be cut. Two associates in other departments paged someone, but no one came to help us. A third associate finally told me no one was available to help because all the Flooring personnel leave work at 5:00. The store is open until 10:00! That's five hours in which they have no one to assist customers in Flooring, and I was not told that until I had wasted more than 20 minutes of my time. One of the other customers was so frustrated with waiting that he was preparing to cut his own blinds on the store's machine until I stopped him, pointing out to him the posted warning that it was a hazard for unauthorized persons to operate equipment. When I arrived home I attempted to call the store to speak to a manager and was left on hold by the store answering service nearly 5 minutes, and never got a live person on the phone. I made two more unsuccessful attempts to call to speak to a manager, then I gave up. In total, I need to buy four shades cut to order, so have now called a small local independent hardware store to inquire, and learned that they do sell and cut shades. I will be going there from now on for window shades, so as a result of this bad customer service experience the Home Depot has permanently lost me as a customer for window shades, and for anything else that I can buy at the small local store that I would normally have gone to Home Depot for. read more

I usually do not write reviews, but this time I have to. I called the appliance dept in Home depot in Monticello and inquired about an LG refrigerator. The young lady - Rozlyn, actually went to check. After a while, she informed me, that this model is not in the store, but it can be ordered . So, next day we went to the store, we placed the order. Apparently, this fridge was on back order , and 1 week later we received a call, informing us , that the date of delivery will be much later than originally stated. And then , Rozlyn called again with the update of delivery date. While shopping in the store couple weeks later, I stopped by her counter- and she remembered and she actually confirmed the delivery date. I'm not used to service like this from my local Home depot (in Queens). She was not only knowledgeable but pleasant as well. read more

Everytime I go to a Home Depot, I like them less and less. This experience was no exception. Yesterday, I measured the wrong part of my car and found myself in need of a rental truck to transport a piece of antique furniture back home. Home Depot rental truck to the rescue?! I called the store in advance and was placed on hold indefinitely. My guy friend (hopefully soon-to-be boyfriend) called on his cell phone and managed to get through. Yes!!! They had a truck available for rental at a reasonable rate. He got the rental requirements, asked all the normal questions and ended the call. (I'm still on hold btw). We learned that the rate was $20 for 75 minutes and $5 for every 15 minutes thereafter. So, even though we couldn't return the rental in Nyack, it was a reasonable rate and there was a truck available. So, we headed over. We found the rental desk and waited and waited and waited. I finally called Home Depot again and asked that someone come over to the rental desk. We waited and waited. Some unhelpful person waddled over and informed us .... wait for it ... all of their trucks have been out since the morning. I maintained some modicrum of composure, voiced my complaints, and then we left. ::sighs:: Disappointing, as always. read more

This is the single worst Home Depot location i've ever visited. I love Home Depot and many locations provide a fine experience but this particular location is simply disastrous. The aisles will be blocked with unstocked merchandise, items indicated as present will not be, staff will be almost non-existent, checkout registers both self checkout and attended will be closed and lines for functional checkout stations will be long. An employee mentioned to me in a very friendly, albeit overwhelmed manner, that this location was perpetually neglected and understaffed almost beyond comprehension. Both with my own checkout during one particular visit, as well as others i observed while i was there, were being mismanaged and rushed so poorly that corrections were having to be conducted at the customer service counter before the customers even walked out the door. The worst part was, each time this happened- an employee would have to be pulled off one of the few open checkout aisles to conduct the corrections at customer service counter. If this wasn't a routine experience at this location, i would have chalked to up to what must've been extenuating circumstances but alas- this is not the case. Home Depot- dedicate some more resources to this location or pull the plug! This location gives customers the wrong idea about the entire brand. read more

I owned homes in Queens, Long Island, and Bethel, NY and I always have used Home Depot because of their fair prices. However, beware of using the Home Depot in Thompson NY. They advertise sales and then don't have the merchandise and then lie about the delivery. Two months ago, I bought a washer n dryer that was on sale, and was told I had to wait a month and then they weren't delivered as promised. I said I would never go to that location again. However, on Monday, we returned and my husband bought an expensive ride on mower and we were promised delivery yesterday. We waited around all day for it and it never was delivered. Today, when my husband called, he was blown off saying it wasn't Home Depot's fault. How incompetent is an answer like this. We were told we would to wait until next week to get the mower, even though it was in stock. If we knew we would have to wait, we would have bought it elsewhere! read more

This place is the pits. I ordered carpeting for the entire house because of a water heating breaking. I told them that I was not going to be here for the Jewish holidays and then I was going back to Florida. I needed the $3200 carpeting installed before I left. Shamari at customer service tried calling a manager but no manager showed up. I decided to have a tantrum and walked up and down the aisles screaming help, rape, fight, manager. Finally a manager showed up and asked if I was the screaming lady. I subsequently found out that the carpeting is on back order and will not arrive at the vendor or the store until the 21st and then installed in Oct. number 1) why wasn't I called that the carpeting was on back order? I would have chosen another carpeting. 2) my insurance company only partially paid me. I have to install within 6 mos to get a refund and 3) I had to cancel my order. Who is going to pay for the rest of the carpeting? I have to reorder next summer but it will no be from you. Let me tell you something........you are good for light bulbs! read more
