I'm usually not a Home Depot person, but this store is beginning to make me change my mind. This is a tri-level Home Depot located in the old Bed, Bath, and Beyond location. It was nice being greeted by an employee. We spoke with other employees and they were all very helpful and super friendly. The store was well-stocked, and not crowded early afternoon. We were looking for several things including a rug runner, a little paint, replacement blades for a ceiling fan, and other items. We bought some cleaning supplies, the rest we'll order online. Chairs outside the store complete the experience. All in all, a very nice store, and a good shopping adventure - 5 stars. read more

The Home Depot never disappoints me. I'm greeted at the door. The greeter is knowledgeable and helpful. My daughter accomplished her mission to recycle her fluorescent lightbulbs and her vacuum cleaner battery. If the store had holiday decorations we would have looked around. I don't know how they do it, but everytime I go here the employees are nothing short of pleasant and customer-service oriented. I almost never actually need their help, but I appreciate how positive and helpful they seem to be at all times. Beyond that, Home Depot almost universally has whatever it is that I'm looking to purchase such as plants for my home, window screens, or tools. read more

We were searching high and low for kitchen cabinets for our co op. Starting out Home Depot were very eager to help, being the sales persons they are supposed to be. During the process they didn't mind making some changes to the order and helping us out to make our experience nice. Then the cabinets came. They tell you to make sure you check every single piece that was delivered. That was really hard when the cabinets were double boxed and styrofoam was protecting all corners. This led to a bunch of trash we had to navigate in the small apartment. Home Depot is supposed to be a DYI store and they kept referring to my general contractor to install the cabinets. I had to do the install by myself because HD wanted an insane install price. Unless you have unlimited funds or you can do it yourself, do not go with them for install. The cabinets are of good quality and all have soft close everything. That is not Home Depot. That is the cabinet company. After we received the cabinets, customer service went out the window. Hard to get a hold of anyone. They were always in meetings. When we did get a hold of someone they were not understanding and did not want to listen to our situation. They were blaming us. How do you blame the customer. We paid for a professional measure to get done and the one area they forgot to measure was the distance from the cabinet drawers to the door jamb. We only had so much space for the cabinet. Their recommendation was to take out a whole panel and move everything to fit. All we wanted was smaller drawer fronts and that would have worked. The fought us the customer on this decision which caused some anxiety and wouldn't make it good. I made it work which caused the dimensions to get a little cramped and a cabinet to sit on a slight angle to fit in the space. We are pleased with the results due to no help from HD. If I didn't have the knowledge on how to make it work, it would not have been completed. A normal person that doesn't have the skill set would have had to hire a professional to come in and finish. HD is supposed to be a DIY store and this proves they are not totally, unless you are good with tools. I would not recommend HD for kitchens just for the customer service aspect. There are a lot of companies that will sell you kitchen cabinets. All someone would have to do is find someone to install for you or DIY for way less. read more

This is a great Home Depot with the nicest people working here. I had to get a bunch of blinds and the salesperson, her name was Albania, was the most helpful person in any store that I can recall. She spent a lot of time getting me exactly what I needed and made sure I could manage getting it out of the store. I hope her manager comes across this and gives her the recognition she deserves. The Home Depot on 58th and 3rd relocated! Crazy to think this area went from Food Emporium/Bridgemarket and Bed Bath & Beyond...to vacant for years...to now a vibrant Trader Joe's and a brand new Home Depot. It's so nice to see "green shoots" in Midtown East. Versus the old [subterranean dungeon] the new three floor store is a breath of fresh air. My sense is they have more square footage than the prior store and a fuller range of products than other urban Home Depots. Ultimately, yes, it's a Home Depot, but it's in the city and has solid transit options. read more

This is their new location which is very convenient for me. It is a very large clean store and since it's new they have a lot of merchandise but I would still go online to check to see if they have what I need. This location also works for me because It's really close to other stores that normally shop which makes this location a one stop shop for me. So worth coming here. read more

I got to a lot of Home Depot and this one is by far my favorite. Usually there is no help and people are dogging you when you do find someone. They actively ask you if you need assistance. This is my second time at this location and I've had the same experience. They kind of put you in the mindset of Walmart in the south back in the days. The manager was so rude and dismissive. I bought the wrong AC and he wouldn't let exchange it. Should be fired for how condescending he is.

Everything about the store could improve. Starting with the manager who nearly gives lip service to customers. It's like walking into a tomb! It is an awful store. Most of the products are for homes and not apartments though they are located in a mostly apartment area. The worst of it is trying to reach anyone on the phone! I called 11 times in 15 minutes first I have to listen to some robot. Then, though this is America, I am asked if I want English. Next, you tell the robot the department you want and they connect you to I don't know what or where! And then I am disconnected every single time! I wanted a particular employee in the garden department. I would've been willing to speak to anyone in the garden department. The phone situation is such that they just cut you off before they put you in touch with anyone. The Lowe's is not as convenient. It is a much better store in which to shop they have a better trained staff. This store sells plants but have nothing to wrap the plants in. No paper or bubble wrap or anything! You can't transport a plant without wrapping it in something and I was buying three plants. The woman at checkout found a paper bag and we tore it up in order to wrap the plants. Really a most unpleasant experience whether you are in the store or on the phone. read more

They finally found a new tenant for this 3 level space on 1st Ave and 61th St and it's home depot which is better then the Lexington Ave location . 3 levels of the typical home depot stuff that you will find in Manhattan , not as stocked as the burbs or outside Manhattan locations but unless you plan on building a tree house , they have it here and the home Depot workers are helpful for the most part . Got a can of paint , a few brushes , a plastic container of that stuff that fills up holes in the wall and a few other items not associated with my project that will be done by someone else . Good addition to the area that is slowly building back up again with needed stores . 4 stars on my yelp meter . read more

I was so happy when they put the Hone Depot at this location but they do this bizarre thing where they have their people standing in front of the self service checkouts; it's supposed to be self service but you got there and there's a person in your way. Usually there's an awkward exchange and after establishing you want to check out, I look around for the scanner like I do at every other HD location and it's not there, then another awkward exchange and then they scan it. It's weird, it's counter intuitive and just bad business. I guess they think it's helpful, but trust me it's not. read more

You might be interested to know that this Home Depot is located on the space where the Chippendale's theater was in the 80s, just down the street from the first TGI Fridays. I mostly wanted to share that fact and while I find the Home Depot Brand reprehensible, I visited today (Black Friday) so I could write this. I was ready to come in with a 1 or 2 star. The Bed Bath & Beyond was a huge loss, and the Home Depot construction has been a years long nightmare for neighbors. And really, not a ton has changed about the layout of the space. What really turned it around were the workers. Every single one had the emotional intelligence in asking if I had questions. A rarity as an older woman who does a lot of old apartment type maintenance myself. Really appreciated that, please keep these workers on and pay them whatever they ask for. My Husband John M purchased an over the toilet storage unit. When he went to install it the unit was missing two screws that secure it to the wall it cannot installed without them. I've notified Home Depot and was told don't bring item back it will be shipped to you. A month later he is still waiting for the parts. DO NOT BELIEVE HOME DEPOT BRING THE ITEM RIGHT BACK. As a girly pop, walking into a Home Depot can be intimidating, stressful, and overwhelming. The staff at this location were so welcoming and also knowledgeable! I came in looking for a pot and soil for my new spider plant. One of the team members saw me browsing the soil selection and knew exactly which kind of soil my spider plant would need! There was a great selection of pots too! And to my surprise, there was also a HUGE indoor and outdoor plant section. I will be back soon to buy my spider plant some friends.
