This is off the highway on the way to the airport. There is a large parking lot, and the greenhouse is huge! I went in for one thing & walked out with more than 10. I hand-build tiny, tiny ceramic pots, so I'm always looking for tiny plants to put in them. Straders has only a small selection of these pots & they are $6-15 depending on plant. DeMonye's had 10x the variety of what I usually find at Straders, and they were $4.49!! I did a little dance. You can find annuals, perennials, indoor plants, bulbs, seeds, soil, garden decor, pots, you name it! I also found flowers and berry plants for my garden. The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. They said to check out their Facebook and IG for updates of what's in stock!

So stop in very soon if you want to go one more time. We've been coming here for a decade, they've been here for almost a century. It's very handy for us, and usually had most of what we need. Service was great, prices were decent. And convenience has a quality of its own. Now where will we go? Next closest place is probably Oakland, which is fine but at least 15 minutes away.

Think of it as Ohio's most photogenic meeting of the minds: aspiring influencers, local families, plant-loving aunties, and at least one goat that clearly thinks it's in charge. The farm setup is charmingly chaotic in the best way: hay towers, bouncy castles, cardboard cut-outs, and a lineup of goats ready to be hand-fed at 50 cents a handful. Rows upon rows of tulips in full bloom awaited us, $1 a stem. It's part aesthetic, part strategy--because yes, the seasoned grannies will coach you on the art of pulling bulbs with stems intact. (Pro tip: look for those slightly opened blooms if you want better replanting success.) We caught the tail end of the season, so while I wasn't dressed like a walking Pinterest board, I got the full experience. Dirt under my nails, sun on my face, and a haul of 18 vibrant tulips for $19.31. The wait to check out was a little steamy--sun beating down, line inching slowly--but it gave me a chance to eavesdrop on gardening tips and admire a dog wearing flower crowns. There are also food trucks and coffee carts if you need a break, and plenty of plants and bulbs for sale if you're looking to extend your floral moment beyond the bouquet. Just a heads-up: parking is gravel-based, bumper-to-bumper, and you'll probably end up next to a pickup truck with a decal that reads "I only stop for tulips." Welcome to the Midwest. Would I go back? Absolutely--only next time I'm dressing for the photo ops and the heat.

I am extremely disappointed in the Home Depot location in Newark, Ohio. It has come to my knowledge that the manager by the name of Tiffany has displayed rude and prejudice behavior on the date of September 22nd. Accusations of stealing had been made with absolutely no grounds of proof. I cant help to think if my skin color had anything to do with it. Corporate has already been notified of this ,but I was leaving a review as a concerned customer. This is a unacceptable way to treat your customers. As a black american this is disappointing and it hurts to be profiled in such a manner. DO BETTER! Tiffany should be ashamed. read more

But we also love all the little items like storage crates, holiday décor, kitchenware, utensils, cups, mugs, clothes hangers, and rugs. IKEA just has it all and you can even grab lunch at the resturant! My favorite part is I love exploring the store and imaging the possibilities and seeing what I can find. My last good find was a giant box of small white tiles for roughly five bucks. I still have a few left but I've been using them for alcohol paintings and getting supplies here saved me a good bit of cash. They also have used furniture and a lot of home materials. Their stock comes from donations, leftover construction materials, etc. and it's nice to know that these things are being reused and not just thrown out or wasted. The staff here is also really friendly and always greets you with a smile. If you're looking to remodel a home or want some art supplies (paint, brushes, tiles, etc) then come here first. Save yourself some money and give back to a great cause at the same time.
