Top of lid that show it I'd indented and date purchased
    Tammi K.

So I showed these pictures on July 19 th, when 1 of the 3 cans of paint I bought from Home Depot tilted in my car and the Iid fell off. I spoke with GM at Home Depot and a claim was made. He also apologized for this mishap and told me to come back in for a new can of paint and rags to clean my car with. The paint was waiting for me on the counter, free of charge of course. I ask the person behind the paint counter if she has heard of this happening and she says yes!Home Depot has offered me ( 3 days later)$200 for ME to clean the dry latex paint from my car. A dealership quoted the damages at @$3100 due to the fact that the carpet needs to be replaced. The person handling my claim told me the moment I left HD, the paint became my problem and it's stated within the Home Depot policy which I'm still trying to get in writing ( if that were true why is HD giving me a free can of paint). I have superseded the original claim adjuster and went to her supervisor who ask for the pictures, stating there is no record of them ever being sent from the GM of Home Depot. She also stated that if a color was added to the paint it weakens the seal and may cause pressure to pop the lid. Again, Home Depot doing. After reviewing the damage to my car Home Depot has asked me for the dealership quote and that is where the story ends. Oh, in the mail I received a notice for me to sign the paper stating I was accepting the $200. TOMORROW HOME DEPOT CORPORATE DIVISION IS GETTING A CALL!

They really go the extra mile when it comes to customer service. Stanley's is the classic small business the neighborhood wants to keep in place for their needs big and small. I've been blessed that I haven't had too many emergencies in my house but knowing a Stanley's run can be done quick sets my mind at ease. The best I can do to support them is to continue to visit in those non-emergency moments like when I need a key made or a small piece of hardware.

Last week they went above and beyond, clearly deserving of media mention. Last summer I purchased a Weber Grill. I immediately had an issue with the casters not working. I called Ernie who dispatched his crew to retrieve the grill and try to fix it. It was missing many screws and one of the casters had fallen off. The crew brought back the grill, supposedly fixed but I have had difficulty with the same casters since last year. They will lock in place, and not stay unlocked thus making it almost impossible to move my grill. Finally, last week one of the casters just broke off entirely. This was two days before my July Fourth cookout. I called Ernie back and he immediately remembered me and dispatched another crew to assess the situation . When the crew arrived, they realized they would again have to take the grill back to the shop. A few hours later I got a call from Mike asking me if I wanted to have the repair done by Weber under the warranty or if I wanted them to try to put on new casters. I told them to put on universal casters because I did not want the same casters from Weber. A few hours later I got a call from Mike telling me the repair was complete and could they drop off the grill. I said sure and how much did I owe them. I was then informed I didn't owe them anything. I cannot thank them enough. I especially want to shout out Ernie, Mike and the owners , Mark and Alex Jaconski who run an exceptional business.

The store is highly organized and offers a surprisingly wide array of items for its size. What truly distinguishes it, however, is its staff. They are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. Walking in with a problem, they'll help you think through the best solution. Often, the advice alone makes the trip worthwhile, with the purchase being a bonus. In an age where almost everything can be ordered instantly online, places like this still play an essential role. Some issues require judgment and experience, not just a quick online search. The team here clearly knows their craft and is happy to share their expertise. What I especially value is their honesty. They never try to pressure you into buying unnecessary items. If they don't carry what you need, they'll tell you and often point you toward where to find it. Such confidence and integrity are rare. While large stores like Home Depot have vast inventories, for smaller or specialized items, especially related to older Center City homes, this store is often the better choice. Prices are fair, and the quality of guidance enhances the overall value. It's evident that this store is run with pride, care, and years of expertise. It has genuine character, and I hope the neighborhood appreciates it as much as I do. I'm always impressed when I visit. Thank you!

My father, in an adjacent aisle, assessed clamp sizes or perhaps compared different hose fixtures for build quality and features. The worn wooden floor and musty scent already percolating into my childhood memory: this was a place I went with my dad, this was a thing I did with my dad. Now, as a grown man, I watch my own son peak into drawers of copper nails, fidget with the array of door handles and hinges, or pull dowels out of the cubby and look for room to swing them. Will he have a son? Will Kilian's still be here for them? Of course this place doesn't have the selection of Lowe's, how could it!? The whole of Kilian's is barely the size of the barbecue display at Lowe's. If you want the experience of a big box store that has almost everything, and is the same in every city or town, and where no one cares about anything, don't come to Kilian's. But if you want to talk to a real person about what concrete anchors they recommend, or about which adhesives work best for pressure treated lumber, you could do worse. If, however, you're like me and you're chasing the circle of existence, the cycle of living and dying, raging against the tide of nihilistic despair that is this age of necrotic empire, squeezing meaning out of this life through sheer force of will, then let go of your child's hand and let them wander the antiquated aisles of this institution, let them learn for themselves what a real hardware store is like.

I bought four plants, and despite proper watering and pruning, all four were dead within a week. When I brought this to the owner's attention, she offered only a partial solution: if I bought four more plants at full price, she would give me half-credit for the original ones. Given that we used to live in Gladwyne and spent thousands of dollars at this store over the years, I would have expected better customer service--particularly a full replacement of the faulty plants. Had we gone to Home Depot or Lowe's, I'm confident we would have received a no-hassle refund or exchange. It's unfortunate that a local store didn't meet that same standard.
