ABSOLUTELY the WORST place to purchase!! They do NOT call when your purchase is in, then after I made this purchase, it went on sale. I had to call if my purchase was in; then when I went to pick it up - customer service was NOT available, FINALLY, someone came, told him my purchase was on sale 3 days after I ordered, NO way, the purchase had to be returned, AND reordered!!! the product was there !!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ONALASKA STORE!!! totally incompetent!!! Store is fine. Staff is helpful. Terrible delivery service as they contract out. The delivery folks are unfamiliar with 'the bluffs'. They are using rental trucks, possibly too large but mostly they are untrained at driving. Some won't deliver uphill, which many driveways ARE in the bluffs. We've had 7 failed deliveries of two kitchen appliances and two late cancellations of delivery 4 hour window. Twice appliances were not even on their trucks! Once they were unboxing someone else's stove and going to install it. I caught it before they got too far. They hadn't even looked at the tag! Home Depot seems to be okay with this slip shod service as no changes being made. This is extremely time consuming and difficult to make contact with delivery. Even store associates and manager are frustrated. They are sympathetic but the problem is in HD trying to cut corners on delivery. They need a vetted group with background checks and some experience driving big trucks and delivering/installing items. They also need to have more direct contact between store and delivery. This is a very fixable issue but we see no fix in sight. Waiting to establish delivery window number 10 if you count late cancellations. This is time we can't get back and appliances we've been billed for but can't get brought up to us. We have so much time invested that we are not dropping it. We do not blame employees of HD but yes, large company has created this by a poor side business of delivering. They'd do better just saying they don't deliver...that's at least more honest. We could rent a pick up at Menards but the bill says "The Home Depot delivers. Just say where, when and how"...that's motto on the big bill we got. read more

I saw that someone had put it only one star for this great located store..sad that they had a bad experience but I felt it necessary to also write a review because I love this Home Depot here in Onalaska. It's so clean and organized..they have simplified and a lot more user-friendly than most I've been to. I feel like the Home Depot to be growing up a little bit For a long time they were messy, construction men who are pros were there the most n knew what they wanted n their products were good but found the whole experience to be negative and confusing, with no support. Plus it was so big and intimidating ..I just couldn't be comfortable there.liked it any minute somebody who had really long boards in their cart was going to whack me in the head I couldn't even find the cashier. Not anymore! Wow what a difference! I think it's getting better...they have more items that as a female homeowner is looking for also and the support to find items I might need but was afraid to ask. I could relate to them now, and locate the items that I was looking for and the staff at the store has just been great to me whenever I go there. No person or no store or no company is perfect. Have never had a more horrible work experience and usually I enjoy working (most of the time). Almost left this place on my first day but thankfully am almost done with my 2-week notice. We needed a new washing machine. So, we went online to see the selection at Home Depot. We found one that would work. My husband purchased it and a delivery date was set up. We were in great need of this washer. My husband got notice that the original delivery date was changed and rescheduled for the next week. My husband took the day off to help with the delivery & set-up. We were expecting the delivery between 9 am & 1 pm. As this window of time went by, my husband called the customer service to try & find out where our delivery was & was told all of the Home Depot deliveries were cancelled for the day due to weather. The roads in the area were clear. Also, no one contacted us about the cancellation. We only knew about it because my husband called to ask where our washer was . The representative said that she could reschedule a delivery for the following week, which was unacceptable. We ended up cancelling the order & bought a new washer locally. We are very disappointed in Home Depot & will think twice before purchasing anything from them again. read more

This has been the worst experience dealing with a company. I have previously remodeled a kitchen in California and had a great experience. This go around was the absolute WORST!! I DO NOT recommend ordering kitchen cabinets from them. I ordered cabinets in February, got the delivery and completely WRONG cabinets. Denied the order and was told that the system didn't transfer over correctly (not my problem). I was told that my cabinets would be reordered and processed as a rush order....6 weeks later my cabinets came in to get a call that my pantry had a 14 inch scratch in the side. They offered to put in a new order for a pantry, keep the one with the scratch or they could order a custom pantry cover which I would have to purchase and would have to wait another 4-6 weeks for it. I was reassured that ALL of my cabinets would be delivered on Wednesday. I received another call 5 minutes after telling me I needed to pay another deliver charge since I lived in la crescent. I advised them that I ALREADY paid the delivery charge for the original cabinets they delivered that were wrong. I wasn't going to pay for it again when it was their mistake in the first place. I than received another call that the delivery date that I had JUST set up a few minutes prior wont work because their was someone else who was getting a delivery that would take all day and needed to reschedule mine to the next day. I finally get my cabinets and low and be hold 5 of the cabinets were completely damaged!!! I rejected the cabinets and had them sent back to the store...I am still waiting to hear back about my damaged cabinets! I would ABSOLUTLY pass all of this on to someone who is looking to get new cabinets and would NOT recommend using Home depot!!! I was originally warned by someone not to use home depot but because we had a good previous experience I went a head and used them again BIGGEST MISTAKE!!!!! Update: pantry cabinet damaged and hinges on the wrong side and 14inch scratch is indeed on the bottom left side NOT top right side as I was told which would have been ok since another cabinet would cover it not anymore, lazy Susan door damaged and hinges placed crooked won't close all the way. We ordered some large appliances (freezer, washer & dryer) to be delivered. We found out some time after placing the order (WE had to call THEM for updates on our order) that the freezer we'd paid for was no longer available. Eventually got our washer delivered but found out the dryer we'd paid for was not available but was on back order. Weeks later our dryer was finally delivered but wasn't installed - I had to go buy the parts to do my own installation. After all the runaround and excuses we will not be spending our money at Home Depot again. read more

I only went to the paint section and let me tell you, they saved me so much money. I go to school in La Crosse and was going to be charged $60 to repaint three small patches on the wall in my dorm. I took a paint sample to Home Depot and they color matched it for me. Not only was the man working super helpful, but he helped get me in and out in a timely manner. I spent less than $11 on the small container of paint (which matches perfectly by the way) and a paint brush. Saved myself so much money and hassle. Great store with helpful people. read more

This was probably one of the most irritating shopping experiences of my life. It was my first time visiting this store, and was needing help finding 2 items. The other items were plants, have of which were dead and falling apart. I had to walk back and forth across the entire store 3 times to ask 4 different employees for help finding an item, each time the employee just shouted a different aisle number (which was poorly labeled and hard to find) and pointed in a general direction, I would explain that I looked multiple times each and I would just get the same response regardless, not ONE offered to actually help me find it. A what should have been 10 minute trip took over an hour. Then when I try to finally check out, there isn't a label on one item, at this point I really want and need to leave and go on with my day. The cashier doesn't offer to help me check out (as I have lots of items and most are heavy so I didn't want to use self check out for obvious reasons), I had to ask if she would check my items out, when we realize there is no label I offer to show her where I got it and advise of the price it was labeled. She insisted on just calling it over instead, which I was fine with until she literally pulled out her iPhone and started TEXTING for a literal 3 minutes until I insist on walking her to the item so she can see the price and I can leave. Which actually ended up happening. I will absolutely never come here again, and probably won't shop at any other location either if this is the way employees are trained. Thumbs up to the one representative that overheard me asking 4 different employees that checked on me as I was leaving to see if I got the item, yet still never offered to help me find it, I ended up leaving without it. He is the ONLY reason I am giving a whopping 1 star. read more
