Tom was very knowledgeable about garage doors. He said the steel doors dent and the fiberglass doors don't. The fiberglass doors are more durable and cost twice as much as the steel doors. I ordered a couch with a sales associate and received an email receipt. From there on, I received update emails- when the couch was shipped, when the couch arrived in the store, and even a text saying they were unable to deliver the couch (a time which was outside of the delivery window). After contacting the store, I find out the couch was never even ordered!!! The team member said she would get it ordered and contact me. Now the couch shows it's out of stock. That team member AND a manager said they would call me back after they did some research, no call back. No explanation for what happened and no couch. I will never order from Home Depot again. I am getting increasingly frustrated with all the Home Depots because of availability of certain items and lack of communication after ordering online. Recently, I needed a cordless hedge trimmer, so I ordered one from them online for delivery 48 hours later. After ordering, I received no confirmation email or text, however, I was able to see that my order was being processed via my home depot account. I then saw a receipt a short time later, again...via their site. But I still never received any communication via email or text. But it appeared all was good with my order. Two days go by and no delivery and no word. Turns out the order fell through due to a weird payment glitch but I was NEVER notified. Would have been helpful to know, Home Depot! So, I get back online to try ordering yet again. I needed a cordless hedge trimmer. Pretty standard tool. However, it was suddenly impossible to get ANY within 24 hours without waiting days for them to arrive from the warehouse. I tried every store in the Portland metro area and nothing was available without waiting at least 4-5 days. So, I turned to good old Amazon and got it the next day no issue whatsoever. The Home Depot is my second favorite store behind Costco. A little history... this location was built on top of the old Oregon City Landfill. That's right! They filled it in and covered it. I've always liked this Home Depot... it is less busy then some of the others. There is always parking but lately it's been hard to get help if you need it. They are short employees just like everywhere else unfortunately. Returns are pretty simple here. I love the paint department! You can bring in a chip of paint and they say they can match it pretty close. Nice! In the Summer the garden department is wonderful and such a happy place. I purchased a high-end laundry washer from the Home Depot web page with free delivery and install, plus removal of my old washer. The delivery was made of the new washer on Thursday, no attempt was made to install the new washer or removal of the old washer. The delivery folks said they are not installing the washer and left. The store said they couldn't understand why the new washer was not installed but the next available install day was the following Monday. Monday came, late in the morning still no call to set an appointment time to install the washer, so I called HD and they said they have no control over when the workers would install the new washer. So I personally visited the Home Depot store and received the same excuses (face to face) of not having control of when HD contractors deliver or installed washers. I answered HD's excuse by saying my install didn't happen, I should have been put at the top of the next install day list. HD replied, "we have no control over the install subcontractors schedule". I asked for the direct contact info for the HD corporate office and to speak to the store manger, but they refused to allow the GM to speak to me or give the HD corporate contact info. The service is terrible. Four employees wearing their orange vests just passed me by. I work in retail and I was taught to always ask a customer who is wandering around if they need assistance. It's common sense! I must've waited for help for 10 minutes for assistance in the ceiling fan area just to purchase a $3 part. And don't get me started with the check out lane. The Oregon City store is a joke! My brother and I went to Home Depot today to get materials for a project to fix up our elderly father's house. Customer service was so horrible that we had to ask for help multiple times and none of the employees seemed to care whether they made a sale or not. We eventually demanded our money because there was no way to get the materials we had purchased loaded up. We then went to Canby Builder Supply and received excellent help, were loaded up and on our way in minutes. I always hesitate to write reviews, as I'm not sure they make a difference. However, I am still speechless re: what I experienced at the Oregon City Home Depot yesterday late afternoon. I had an expensive oil filled radiator heater delivered from this store via Instacart end of last month. It's rather awful and makes constant popping sounds. Because I don't have a car and cannot pay for multiple Ubers to go back and forth to the store, I called in advance and confirmed with Customer Service (a male supervisor at this specific store) that the return would be a breeze, as it was well within 90 days and I needed only to show the barcode of my order on the app to have my original payment method refunded. When I showed up to the store at about 4:30, there were a group of several associates standing around customer service/main entrance (I'm talking 6-7+) doing absolutely nothing. None of them acknowledged me until I asked to please return something. I arrived at Naomi's counter to return my item and presented her with my barcode. She said "Oh, I don't know how to do that." And literally just stared at me. I asked if she could please find someone to help..? She said "Oh, maybe" and started wandering around." (Still...literally several associates still just hanging out). I advised that I did call ahead and I do have an Uber waiting outside for me while I make this return. Finally, another woman came over. She said her name was "MJ" (I'm not sure if she was a supervisor, I really hope not). She said, oh we can only give store credit. To which I responded was not the case, as I verified any store policies ahead of time and needed the refund credited back to the credit card used to purchase. She said no. I don't know if she assumed I'd just be okay with giving Home Depot, a store from which I have no need to buy anything else, $150 dollars in store credit...She then grabbed a single piece of paper from the back, stating "See? This states right here, you only get store credit." At this point, my Uber was ready to leave, and so I left the store with my heavy, expensive heater. Once in the Uber, I thoroughly read through the obviously internal written communication she'd handed me (with internal department email contacts and "Confidential" literally printed on the page). I kid you not, the first bullet point states that refunding Instacart deliveries via store credit is "easiest" so that customers don't have to wait as long for their refund vs choosing back to original payment method. Easiest? So that they don't have to wait as long? In other words...an option (one that benefits the store, obviously). So either she lied or is just that incompetent, but even the piece of paper she handed me contradicted what she told me. Honestly, I am still in shock - by how any of these people have jobs. I know it's the holidays. And I've worked customer service. I'm not "that" person. But this? This was beyond unacceptable. I would love to speak with the store manager (Ryan?) to get this resolved, however I've been trying for over an hour to get someone to actually answer the phone at this location this morning. So it is now time to file a grievance via my bank and BBB. I will go further if needed. This is not okay, and this store needs to be held accountable for their treatment of me and obviously most other customers (Tip: negative Google reviews can be removed, check out their Yelp reviews for honest ratings and experiences by community members, it's very telling. Incredibly helpful and creative associate team at the Tool Rental counter! Today, Sept 29, 2024, I went in to ask what tool would be best to rent in order to make fake "pencils" out of 1.25" diameter wood dowels. I needed help making the pencil tip, cutting or filing one of the ends of the dowel at about a 70degree angle. The associates brainstormed and landed on using a table saw with a wedge to get the angle we needed. When I said I wasn't confident enough to do it on my own safely, Josh offered to cut the dowels down for me right there on the spot out back, and in less than 10 minutes, I had my fake pencil shapes perfectly cut! Thank you JOSH and all the folks at the Oregon City Home Depot rental counter that helped brainstorm a solution for my quirky project. These fake giant pencils are going to be props for a local non-profit youth theatre group ages 8-18yrs putting on "Your a Good Man Charlie Brown" on stage at the Sherwood Center for the Arts November 9 & 10, 2024. I tried to get what I could and get the lumber somewhere else, but the Home Depot app wouldn't load the QR for my account discount. had to abandon my cart and leave empty handed. Updating my review. I had to rent a trailer to haul storm debris and this HD was the only rental location that made sense. Everything went fine, so they earned a star. Ordered a range from Home Depot online. Got an estimated delivery date and then got a call the day before with a 4 hour delivery time the next day. On that day the driver gave us a call and said he'd be here in 20 minutes. 2 friendly guys showed up and installed the range and hauled the old one away. This store is an embarrassment to Home Depot and the community. Merchandise is haphazardly displayed and spotty. Employees seem to try to avoid customers, and when asked for help rarely show any interest or familiarity with products or placement. Recently, on 3 occasions, I found a product online that I was looking for with indication that it was in stock. On all 3 occasions I went to the store only to find ZERO inventory. I showed the associate the website indicating 31 on-hand. He replied "that means we're out of stock". I asked at what level of inventory can I feel confident coming to the store and expecting to find the product. He replied it's always better to call 1st. So I went to the website and ordered 4 for curbside pick up.My card was charged, but an hour later I got an email from Home Depot that the product was out of stock and they were reversing the charges. The communication and customer service at this Home Depot could not be worse. I ordered 2 pallets of cinder block. When they arrived neither pallet contained the cinder block style I had ordered. I went back to the store. They apologized and said they would send me the right block but would not speed up my delivery from the local warehouse. I would have to wait another week to get the right blocks. The following week they delivered 2 more pallets of the exact same WRONG cinder block. At this point they still hadn't picked up the first two pallets. I called the store and they apologized. They came and picked up all 4 pallets along with some dobies I had ordered but they didn't refund me. I went into the store to figure out what was going on with my order. Finally, I was refunded, well I thought I was until I looked at my credit card statement and saw they never refunded me for the dobies. I made the mistake of going back to this store today for 2x12x10's. They were out. The store clerk told me the Clackamas store had them in stock. I went out to Clackamas and they said they don't even carry 2x12x10's anymore. The Clackamas clerk called the Mall 205 store to find out if they had them and was then put on a 15 minute hold. I've been coming to this Home Depot a lot since moving to the area. They are friendly, helpful and have good prices. My favorite part of all Home Depot's is their return policy. It's so famed easy to return something I can always buy a surplus of material and bring the unused shit back! Temco Logistics a contracted delivery service of THE HOME DEPOT caused $15,000 of damages to our house and property. I hold The Home Depot just as responsible for the $15,000 of damages that occurred on Jan 12th 2021. I ordered a new dishwasher and range from the Home Depot and my items were delivered by Temco Logistics. On January 12th 2021, My adult children and I were sitting in the living room visiting, waiting for the delivery truck to arrive as scheduled. All of a sudden the house began to shake, there were crashes like an earthquake. I was saying what is that?! looked outside to see the Temco Delivery truck backing into our Cable/Power lines! My son ran outside to get the driver to stop (they were oblivious and would have kept going!) We realized our power pole was snapped in two- roof, ripped apart and later discovered chimney cracked! Portland General Electric (PGE) advised me to turn off the power because it was the lines holding up the pole. Temco acting very un-alarmed by the situation. The Home Depot didn't have a clue how to handle the negligence of the trucking company THEY hired! PGE sent out 7 guys and 3 trucks to repair the pole and lines. This bill was $8000!!!!!!!!! I had a roofer come and give me an estimate to repair the roof $2000!!! and at that time the roofer noticed our chimney had been cracked. I had a Mason come out to do an estimate for the Chimney $5000 to repair!!! The Home Depot in Oregon City, Oregon told me it was "out of their hands" since it was the delivery company that made the mistake. I spent WEEKS trying to get Temco to give me answers. PGE also had a part to play in thwarting my home repairs because instead of billing The Home Depot or Temco Logistics they sent the bill to our Local Cable Company!!! This has been a huge problem for me to resolve on my 2 days off per week. Every Tuesday and Wednesday for the last few months I have spent trying to get answers, trying to get re-imbursement!!! I paid for the roof damage out of pocket since I did not want the attic exposed to the elements and pests. My local Home Depot was absolutely NO HELP and referred me to the generic 1800# they give to everyone else!!! After months of phoning and e-mailing Temco Logistics (the person assigned to our case was unfriendly at best! She did not answer any questions directly and waited 1-2 weeks to respond- I'm not even sure she read the emails or listened to the messages I left, since there was no legitimate answers to my questions). Finally, I heard from The insurance company representing Temco. I have not received resolution (today is April 6th 2021) but they did send out an adjuster Saturday to review damages to our chimney. I expect full payment so we can finally get our chimney repaired. Our woodstove is our ONLY source of heat!!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANY APPLIANCES from The Home Depot AGAIN! this was entirely a waste of my time and energy. Backordered a dishwasher (most expensive one they sold), came dented, reordered (took another month) then installed wrong. For the last 4 months I have had problems with this order and yesterday the dishwasher that was installed by Home Depot, FELL out of my cabinet! The drawers came tumbling out, practically hit me on the head. Seems the dishwasher was not secured to the underside of counter, but rather just sort of connected to plunging and electrical and just shoved under the counter. It tipped out today and is inoperable. I called Home Depot and no one can come fix this for 4 days. This is so unacceptable. I have bought 6 appliances from Home Depot in the last year. While the appliances themselves are good, dealing with the install people and Home Depot in general is very problematic. I am a good customer for Home Depot but I will not be going forward. I could come here every weekend. I've been getting my gardening supplies from Home Depot. Tripping through the islands of plants. My Wife and I have made some great visits to our dreams. We have been found wondering around appliances talking about our dreams. It's awesome how we often have similar ideas. Lately, it's been all about the plants. My Wife has made some really pretty flower pots for our deck. I have gotten sone healthy Vegetable and Fruit plants as well. They would be doing better if we had more sun in Portlandia but we don't! Great employees and great parking lot that even includes designates spots for the contractors pulling trailers. This past week I was struggling to locate a specific grout. Pro Desk is a Joke We are an Electrical Contractor who spends tens of thousands of dollars at Home Depot every year, sometimes its more convenient to go here than to Platt Electric which is 2 exits away, Attempted to purchase 2 breakers so we would not have to drive.
