I brought a can of the old paint with me and Tom was able to tweak it to make it match the paint as it appears after all those years. He's a gifted colorist and very patient with customers. I also had the pleasure of working with Gina. She gave me wise advice about trying to match ceiling paint and finding alternative solutions. My painter told me about her knowledge and ability to color-match, but meeting her gave me a new perspective on solving problems. Thank you Tom and Gina! After failing to find a Sherwin-Williams grey I liked, I went with Benjamin Moore Coventry Grey. I…read morepurchased the Regal Select Matte paint and paid around $55 a gallon (way more expensive than the SW paint.) One of the employees was helpful, but he tried to convince me that one coat of the Regal Select (a paint and primer in one) wouldn't be enough. Trusting my gut, I only purchased two gallons to paint our large master bedroom in one coat. This paint is spendy! In the end, I only used 1 1/4 gallon, the better quality Regal Select had great coverage and looks awesome. One coat was more than enough. Just keep in mind you won't need two coats if you're liberal in applying!

She seemed to know everyone's name (it was early morning, and I'm guessing a lot of the normal contractor clients), and was the only person in the store helping about four people. She moved quickly, multi-tasked well, and answered questions thoroughly and happily. She was awesome. Somehow a cleaning product with bleach that I used around my shower tiles bleached the wall color as well. It was Sherwin Williams paint done by a contractor about 6 years ago. I told the sales guy what I needed it for and said a sample size should be plenty for what I needed. He failed to mention that the samples aren't actually real paint and are designed to peel off the walls. I found that out when I looked it up online. I came back today to ask for a refund credit towards buying real paint. A different employee helped me and after some back and forth where he said mixed paint is not returnable he agreed to give me a credit towards buying a small container of paint. He said he "took a bunch of money off." When I got the mixed paint and looked at the receipt he had taken $1.72 off - 15% off the painters tape I also bought and nothing off the paint. The sample was $11. Stay far away from this store, these guys are dishonest. I'm sure they are having a nice laugh at my expense. Give your money to a store that treats customers with respect and buy your paint somewhere else. I recommend Powell Paint.
