YOUR CONTRACTORS REPRESENT YOU. Today we expected a delivery of a dishwasher and microwave from Home Depot. We were told they would be delivered between 12pm and 4pm. At 12pm the delivery service representing Home Depot called to say they'd be at our house in 30-40 minutes. We never heard from them again. When we called the delivery service phone number (6 times), they wouldn't answer. Finally, we called Home Depot at 315pm. We were told the delivery wouldn't be made because our street was too narrow. (We actually have one of the wider streets in our neighborhood and have had a washer, dryer, stove and other large items delivered.) Call this poor communication. Poor communication leads to poor customer service. As the Home Depot rep and I discussed the matter, the rep said, "We can deliver it on Wednesday or you can get a refund." (It was an ultimatum and not a good way to negotiate.) So, we cancelled the order and they lose $1200. The Home Depot representative told us they have no control over the delivery people. This is bad business. Your contractors do business in your name. If you can't control them, don't hire them. For better results, teach your people, employees and contractors, communication and negotiation skills. And, think twice before you order a delivery from Home Depot. read more

I shop at this Home Depot so frequently, and the employees do a good job every time, so I will raise my rating to 5 stars. The store typically has a good selection of appliances, wood, plumbing materials, flooring, tools, lawn supplies, light fixtures, window blinds, shelving, cleaning products, etc. During the pandemic, I usually buy products through Home Depot's website, and then I pick up the products in the store. The employees prepare my orders within at most one day, and then they email and text me when I may stop by for the pickup. Today, however, I walked around the store myself to pick out items. An employee at the entrance kindly greeted me. In an aisle, when I was looking at paint brushes and rollers and trying to decide which ones to buy, another employee approached me to ask if I needed assistance. The shelves were fully stocked, and I had a wide selection of products from which to choose. The prices for the products were as low as competitors' prices. At the checkout, multiple cash registers were open, so I did not have to wait in line at all. The cashier was friendly, and he quickly and accurately rang up my purchase. I went to this Home Depot as I was in the area any way and needed 2 fan braces. I found a depot person in the fan section and they pointed me to the boxes immediatly. Being used too New York Home Depot's which have terrible customer service and you can almost never find someone to help you. It is very refreshing to be able too walk into a Home Depot and actually find someone who can answer questions and help you if need be. As I am doing tons of work on my new house I will be going to Home Depot over and over again. read more

I had a very unsatisfactory experience at Store 4159 in Pittsburgh. Online product search showed 43 of the items of which I needed 1. Asked a friend to meet me there as it was too big to fit in my car. We met and went back to the building materials and no 2'x8' PC panels in stock. 2'x12' available but wouldn't fit in the van. Corey the Assistant Manager was completely unsympathetic to my issue of inconveniencing my friend as well as myself and forcing us to drive another 10 miles to get to another HD. He said the word sorry, but his tone and attitude said Too Bad Sucker. Could have offered to sell the 12' for the price of the 8'. Could have offered the use of a hand saw to cut the taller one to fit in the van. But nothing and when I said that was poor customer service, he threw me out of the store. I was upset, but I never raised my voice, cussed or displayed any kind of insulting or threatening behavior. I will let my dissatisfaction be known aaas well as how I was treated. Even a $5 or $10 gift card for our inconvenience would have been a minimal gesture. I ended up at another HD and spent ~$50 on that visit and bought over $2000 worth of carpeting in March. But I think this is it for my Home Depot patronage. Lowe's will be just as happy to take my money. I will be sharing this poor and the embarrassing trip to 4159 and with Corey who displays poor customer service!! On the Home Depot Sucks website this store is listed as one of the worst in the country and the 3 assistant managers are listed as one of the 5 main reasons why it sucks. read more

The staff is fine and knowledgeable. The PROBLEM IS WITH CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS. I acquired my first credit card from HD, and have been fine with the bills etc with small items..neve CAN GET APERSON ON THE PHONE TO TALK TO ABOUT YOUR BILL. YOU ARE ROUTED THROUGH VOICE PROMPTS... IT IS LIKE "CONNECTS THE DOTS AND IN THE END IT SPELLS "GO TO HELL"... THAT IS WHAT IT FELT LIKE. VOICE PROMPT HELL! HOWEVER, I PURCHASED A LARGE APPLIANCE - I had questions about my bill. I spent 2hours one time and 1hr. before. Their customer service service from the Citi Bank their financier... No person for over 3 hours all together. The worst customer service ever. I even stopped into the store where I purchased the appliance, and tried to talk to someone about my bill. The are not permitted to take care of that area... they told me I had to call the number on the card. If you don't want to die first... use your HD card. I read more

Every home depot that i have ever been to had amazing customer service. This one was no different. A few guys working outside asked what brought me in. i mentioned im looking for a small pot and soil to pot my new ficus. J.P directed me toward the outdoor area where all pots were located and mentioned soil was on the back wall. For it being winter, there were cute pots still available at very affordable prices. I only needed a smaller one so i picked a clay pot with a light green color on the bottom. It was under $4 and worked perfectly for my newly rooted ficus plant. I had a little trouble finding the soil as well as a worker in the outdoor area (i did hear him, but he left when i actually decided i needed help, no biggie) I remembered jp saying it was on the back wall so i assumed in the outdoor area. then i noticed it was on the backwall before the outdoor area. On my way to check out, 2 other employees asked me if i found everything ok. I did self checkout and was done in no time. I bought a pot & organic miracle grow for under $10. im satisfied. After leaving i remembered that i needed measuring tape and packing tape so another trip to home depot is in my near future. read more

I ordered cabinets from Home Depot from thomasville cabinetry very expensive. I paided almost 12,000 n 2 of my cabinets both have 3 shelves. If u try 2 put anything way back on the shelf it falls out on the countertop. They cut a big hole out on both sides of my cabinets 4 what reason I have no clue. WHO DOES THAT. I paided a lot of money 4 these 2 b able 2 use the shelf's. So how do they fix them. They don't. I highly recommend NO ONE BUY THESE CABINETS OR U WILL B OUT ALOT OF MONEY. Very DISAPPOINTED. I walked in with one mission, to get a set of keys made. And I did just that. I walked up to the key making station and when I was noticed, I just said I needed keys made. All four keys I had made looked the same. I thought that the associate working this section was trying to up sale me on the keys when he pulled out the colorful ones. All I wanted was a simple set of keys. After contemplating for about two minutes I went with his suggestion. It was actually pretty smart. Four similar keys with a different color on them probably would make it easier for my roommate to decipher which key worked for what door. And the price differential was only about $.10. Friendly and helpful, that's the way it should be when it comes to customer service. read more

I'm not very good with plants. I kill cacti. Seriously. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to keep them alive. However, this hasn't stopped me from trying! I purchased a basil plant at the farmers market downtown, but needed to pick up a few essentials before I could plant it. I ventured to Home Depot with my best friend and we spent some time browsing all of the different fertilizers and dirt options, but had no clue what to buy. We must have looked confused because a very nice employee stopped over and asked if we needed any help. He was very knowledgable about the different properties of the various fertilizers and explained them all to us and even helped us select one specific for vegetables/herbs. I'm not sure if he knows how appreciative we were. He really made our experience in Home Depot fantastic. Thank you kind and helpful employee! I hope I can keep my basil plant alive! read more

I will never but another appliance from Home Depot again!! Their delivery service is horrible! I bought a dishwasher on Memorial Day weekend 2017 and it is now 6/14 and they told me it would be delivered 3 times now. I have taken time off work to be home for delivery. No one showes up. When I call they say there was a "glitch" paperwork never went through. Reschedule for another day and they still don't show up. Say oh you live in Allegheny county it has to go to Royo to deliver.The third time I rescheduled and took off work the delivery guy called and said I have a dishwasher that needed installed! You got to be kidding me!! I need my dishwasher delivered and installed! He doesn't have a dishwasher to deliver. Called home depo again by this time I am beside myself. They said it would have to be rescheduled AGAIN!. This is 4th time I am trying to get my dishwasher delivered. Rescheduled for tomorrow. Have to take another day off. What are the odds of them delivering it tomorrow? Unbelievable!! Totally incompetent!! How can one place make so many mistakes!! I am irate by now. I asked for a manager to call me and I am still waiting for a call back!! My guess is that no one is going to call me. read more
