I purchased two gallons of paint along with other painting supplies. I had done some shopping before that, including some new baby clothes for my new grandson, and had them in the trunk of my car. My last stop was at the grocery store, and when I went to put my groceries away, one of the paint cans had tipped and opened because it was not securely sealed at the paint counter. The paint spilled all over my trunk, my new purchases, and other things stored in there; I filed a claim, but it was not approved because "it didn't happen while I was at Home Depot". So my trunk is ruined, as well as my purchases, and I guess it doesn't matter that it was not my fault, but the girl at the paint counter's fault. I'm done with Home Depot, and thank goodness there is a Loews nearby. I had receipts, sent photos, etc. Shame on them. read more

I went to this Home Depot to go get wood and to have it cut. As I'm looking at wood, I can visibly see a guy helping other customers with wood cutting. I thought to myself 'great this will be an in and out process as the lumber employee is already here.' I get the piece of wood that I want to be cut and I go over to the cutting station. No one was there. I waited for a little bit as I thought maybe the lumber guy had to use the bathroom real quick. 5 minutes go by and an employee walks by. I stopped the employee and said "Excuse me, I need a piece of wood cut." Very nice employee. He said "absolutely not a problem I'll call someone over." He called someone off the speaker and i waited. 5 minutes go by the same employee walks by and asks "has no one come over yet" I replied no. He says don't worry I'll get someone to come over. He disappears. 10 minutes go by and another employee walks by. This guy asks if I need help with anything, I said "yes I'm just waiting for someone to cut wood for me." He apologizes for the wait and calls someone over through the speakerphone. 20 minutes go by still no one. I assumed that they were very busy that day so I waited more cause I really needed this wood cut and I always understand busy days in retail. The same guy walks by again and asks me "has no one come over to you yet" and I replied "no, no one has helped me yet." He then put in another call for lumber assistance. A young kid walks by me looks at another employee scoffs and says "just another day in lumber". Five minutes go by. He comes back over, the same kid looks at me and says "I'll be right there." The same kid proceeded to help another employee assisting a customer. The young employee hung his body over the gate swinging his flags to the ground. He never once apologized for the wait. I waited 40 minutes for someone to cut wood. I decided to take the piece of wood buy it and come back later when they weren't so busy. I came back two hours later around 8 o'clock thinking that it wouldn't be as busy, thinking that someone would cut my wood. I brought the piece of wood in and an old guy was at the wood station. I asked him if he could cut my wood he replied "the wood guy just left, but mark where you want" He marked where I wanted it to be cut and cut it for me with the most miserable look on his face like I was bothering him standing around doing nothing. Right after he cut my piece of wood he said "it's done", walked away and continued to talk to another employee about going on lunch. I believe I was very patient through this whole process especially because I understand retail. (As I worked in retail for a very long time and now work in veterinary medicine, so I understand crazy/busy days) but this was a little frustrating. I urge the mangers to train their lumber employees with sympathy and respect for their paying customers. 3 stars because the employees, I believe the first ones name was Connor and the employee with the golden retriever were so nice and helpful, and lumber is not even there department. I would have written a bad review because my shipment was extremely late amd messed up by the vendor, but Spencer in Customer Service bailed me out. He was on top of the problem, resolved it and even volunteered to go pick up and deliver my order himself. He showed what Customer Service should be all about. Need more like him. read more

This morning as I was walking in to the store, two young cashiers at the customer service was running around, playing like to kids! Very unprofessional! I kept going in Pick up a bunch of merchandise and came back to the customer service to pay for it! The girl was sitting on her desk playing around with young men. I told them I wanted to pay for my stuff. The young men told me to go to the other side I told him no, that I also can at the service desk. As I was talking to him he told me if I didn't stop talking he was not going to ring me up. I threw all the merchandise in to the desk and left! Another woman who works there, actually she working start to yell at me i yelled back and left! Management can review looking at the cameras video! We'll never go back to home depot. Dish washer.washing machine and dryer .and refridgerator in the beginning of July all have come but the refridgerator it came in the beginning of september and they took it back because it was dented. thearranged for a replacement and it took 2 weeks where the delivery kids came and were so rude and took off and claimed it was undeliverable we had to reschedgule for a third delivery it never came and again they claimed non deliverable when I called they said they came but no one home I had been sitting out on front porch waiting all day they lied then they rescheduled it for friday and i got a call today saying it was canceled and my money refunded I called a family business applience store purchased the same refridgerator for less money free delivery and set up in 4 days my opinion BEWARE OF HOME DEPOT shop family owned small business for best service Home Depot does not care once you pay thanks for reading read more

My dad who is a Vietnam Era Veteran wanted to get a new Washer Machine since theirs went during this pandemic. The lady said that Home Depot hasn't been given discounts to Veterans on appliances in over a year. Really?? That is disgraceful. My father took his business elsewhere to Lowes where they not only gave him a 10% Veterans discount but are going to install it. They also helped my dad at the store since he can't walk good. Please stay away from Home Depot if you are veteran and need appliances. customer service is awful After telling them what storm door I wanted in in which color. They got it wrong . I called to make sure they had the correct color. They never changed it. Then it took another week for someone to come out and measure. I called multiple times about The quote for the storm door . Each time I heard i'm with a customer and will call you back. Today I got we have no one in that department you will have to call back tomorrow. Oh yeah and they charged me $40.00 to come out and measure. read more

Don't expect help when looking to spend 2000 dollars on a top notch washer and dryer,it's not going to happen. I first went to an appliance store right down the street to get an education on what to look for in a washer and dryer. They look like boxes to me and I don't care about them. Nobody gets excited about laundry equipment. I went to the depot trying to get a good deal on a good brand. I couldn't get anyone to even say hi. Yes it was a Sunday but man I'm not going ooh look at the new box that's going wash and dry my clothes. After ten minutes and all I got was an excuse me as another employee bumped me. I left went down the street dropped 2000 plus dollars and got treated right. Home Depot you are not the only game in town don't forget it. They reached out to me.I went up a star. I placed an online order for some small items, amid all of the COVID-19 concerns only a few people were being let into the store at a single time and the line was out the door. I had no reason to go into the store as my order was at the service desk, I called and asked if someone could meet me out front with my order and I was told I would have to wait in line with everyone else. This doesn't make any sense, why would you want another potentially infected customer into your store when the order is already picked and paid for? We cancelled the order and got a refund, I will be purchasing this stuff through Amazon like I should have in the first place. read more

Management sucks here. I placed an online order, and it was ready in one of the lockers. The lockers are in the 'entrance area', not really in the 'store' yet. They are very convenient. I had to wait in line, which is normal nowadays. Literally 6 feet inside the first door are the lockers. I got my item and had one foot back outside and the person stopped me and said "Sorry you have to go out the other door". I said "Excuse me? I am literally halfway out of the store right now." They said "I know but you have to go around, not my rules". I said "I have to walk thru the store, around how many possibly infected people, just to exit, when I am halfway out the door right now? I only did the online thing so I could avoid going into the store in the first place!" I walked out at that time. So ridiculous, no common sense. Then I got a email they were in and they never got delivered! The staff told me I would have to wait another 20days! Ask for a refund got it 3 days later. DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM HOME DEPOT If I could leave a negative rating I would. Purchased a kitchen suite and washer dryer combo for our new home. It took them three deliveries and 5 weeks from the day I purchased them to have them in my home. The two deliveries that I had to refuse my appliances they showed up looking like they fell off the back of the truck. No one from the store called me either of the times with any resolution to what the plan was for them to fix this for me. When I reached the manager in appliances (Courtney) she told me that I had to wait till after they all were delivered for her to offer me a discount for my inconvenience. ( a very convenient way for them to have the customers hands tied to accept the delivery of the appliances and then have no power of negotiating fair treatment with Home Depot) I explained to Courtney that I was a military veteran in our first new home with my pregnant fiancé that we needed our appliances immediately to have a functioning home. She promised me she would make it right. Well at the end I got a pathetic $300 discount for the over $5000 I spent in there store. Might I add in that I accepted a washer with damage to it because I couldn't wait any longer for one to be inside my home. The customer service I received was despicable. I have spent over 14,000$ at Home Depot in less then six weeks and a $300 discount is what they felt was fair to me being without a fridge for four weeks!! Unfortunately this store I have always had a hard time with finding an item I need, or is worth the price. On my last visit yesterday was charged 169$ for a battery pack that was clearly marked 99$ for black Friday. I caught it and asked the cashier to verify the sale price their computer wouldn't. Well the guy came back smirking with another brand a Dewalt, mine was Makita, saying could I use this one for he couldn't find the one I had even though it was a side by side display. I told him to forget it, but on my way out the store did a 180 and went back to check if I was lied to. The guy saw me and looked worried. Well brought him the entire display of $99 batteries that he claimed weren't there. No way he could have missed, I decided to show the manager. Terrible. We bought a brand new refrigerator from them and were led to believe we'd paid for installation as well as delivery. The item arrived and the two drivers refused to help with installation. Furthermore, they were rude, abrupt, tried to hurry us into signing paperwork so they could bolt, and could barely speak English. Called the appliance department and got absolutely no help there. We also upgraded to a braided water line for the ice maker and they brought a plain one. Another thing to resolve. What a miserable experience. We bought from Home Depot instead of Barron's because they offered a faster delivery and were cheaper. You get what you pay for!! read more

I'm not a home store fan, but but this review is not a product of bias. Plenty of Home Depots have impressed me with outstanding service. I know what to expect from Home Depot, and for serious use, this one sucks. I use Home Depot in multiple states regularly. This place messes up special orders like they've got a vendetta. Then, after excruciatimg weeks, even months of re-ordering and STILL receiving the WRONG order they expect full price -- FOR THE WRONG THING. Ten weeks and three missorders later and I'm losing money and wasting my life waiting on whatever it was I orderd. I stopped use them for anything more than screwdrivers and paint sticks. Sometimes I use the bathroom there too. It's fairly clean. read more

I will never buy another large appliance at Home Depot. On Dec 26th I purchased a New washing machine from the Plaistow Home Depot. It was Delivered on Jan 4th. Was only able to get one load of laundry run through it over the course of 3 days. Next load machine would not work at all. Called cust. support, they transferred me to Maytag support who called for an appliance repair co. to come out. The machine needed a gearcase/slider/and clutch. Went to HD in Plaistow, spoke with the Asst. Store mgr. Who was way less than helpful. He kept telling me all he could do was give me the customer service # and I needed to call them. Never heard" sorry wish I could do more". Not "that should never happen with a new appliance". Could not even look me in the eye. I told him I wanted nothing less than a new machine delivered ASAP. No, all I can do is tell you to call 1-800-homedepot. Then he said "Maam the louder you get the less I will be able to do for you." "Well...So far you haven't done a damn thing to help me, how much less can you do?" Asked him to take me to an instore phone and we could both call the Customer Service #. Oh no....He said," I'm not going to call them. You need to do that." I went home called them again. They were nice, yet could not get me a new Machine right away. They did take a lot of time speaking with Maytag, everyone agreed the Machine should be replaced and it would be delivered on the 18th of January. Today is Jan 17th, I just got a call they do not have any of that model machine to deliver to me tomorrow, but they would like to offer me a an upgraded machine, however, they cannot deliver it until Feb 7th. Uuurrgghh. If and when the machine arrives, assuming it works, I will have gone without a working washer that Home depot has already received payment for, for 34 days. Lesson learned. I am a contractor that spends a lot of money on tools at various locations. The plaistow store was supposed to deliver 91 80lb bags of concrete to a job literally 7min down the road in the morning. My 2 laborers and I sat at the job site all day. I went to the store twice and no one had an answer for me and the assistant manager was as helpful as a bag of manure. I called them at 3 and found out that my 2 full pallets of Crete were still sitting at the store and the driver was just getting them loaded. Finally at 5:06 I got a phone call from the driver saying it was there. When I called the store the same assistant manager was rude and not apologetic at all. Last time I will ever go there again and I'm out $300 for labor read more

Absolutely never order anything that has to be delivered. Purchased an entire kitchen appliance set and the delivery was awful. Then ordered a washer and dryer and it took 4 crews to come out to install and I still had to finish myself. They also damaged the washer and would not stand behind it. Horrible cashier. I normally experience your employees trying to be helpful but on Fri the 24th of April I had the misfortune of encountering this arrogant, rude, disrespectful, combatant, confrontational person. As I was stationary waiting in line an employee attempted to squeeze behind my cart which had a ladder in it. She passed harmlessly by. In an instant this banshee leaves her register runs up un masked and violating the 6ft rule and says to the other employee " He is sorry". There were two registers aligned. The closest to me was being used by a self checkout. Twice this cashier says you can come up here. I reminded her twice of the closeness to this other patron, who was masked etc. that I would be violating the 6ft tape on the floor. She asked "Do you want to get checked out or not" I was going to wait until I could comply with the 6ft rule. This cashier then says she will not check me out and leaves the register area. I asked for her name as she was certainly not displaying Home Depot Customer Friendly Procedures. She flipped her nametag over and said "My name is Pretty" I asked her for her Supervisor. By this time there was an Audience and Jim came over to check me out. This individual showed no respect for an 80yr old who was displaying a "Combat Vietnam Veteran Hat." If I were the Cashier and she the Customer there would certainly been a different view of this incident. My Wife and I are more than disappointed in this. This individual should not be allowed to treat customers like this. She needs to be at the least remanded to a job where she has no Human contact. Joe M read more

Well, unfortunately, my opinion of this Home Depot has changed for the worst..and I mean pretty darn bad. Well, my hubby and I decided to buy a generator here. They didn't carry the horsepower we wanted in the store, so the service desk girl kindly said that she could order one online for us right there at the service desk using our consumer card.. I thought, "hey why not?" and I decided to let her. She was helpful enough and got the thing ordered... or so I thought.... I waited for a couple weeks and wondered why I hadn't heard anything... and the fanny-wipes at homedepot.com were super un-helpful. So come to find out the "professional" at the service desk spelled my husbands first AND last name wrong on our online order AS WELL AS my email address so I had no way of knowing that the order was cancelled. I mean his first name is pretty all-american and spelled in the customary way- pretty hard to mess up if you ask me! I mean these mistakes were BLATANT errors. Maybe she should have checked her spelling? I mean that's just common sense! I was livid. I called and asked to speak to a manager. I told him my issue. He was fairly unapologetic and said he would talk to the person. I said "do you even know who I am talking about?" and then he responded by asking if her hair was light or dark. I said "a younger woman with light hair" and then he magically knew who i was talking about (umm thanks for asking the first time, yo!). A routine Home Depot location located just of route 125 in a strip mall. I do prefer Home Depot to Lowes in terms of both variety and inventory. After going to a Lowes location to purchase brackets for some shelving I am putting up I found that they only carried two of each type?? I didn't want to make the extra drive but I found the brackets I needed at this location. I do not think you will encounter a similar problem with inventory at any Home Depot location. read more

Typical Home Depot except: BEWARE - Their panel saw, used for cutting plywood, etc. is consistently way out of alignment and they seem to never fix it. Cutting a 4x8 sheet of plywood into 2x4 foot pieces, the cut was skewed by over 1/4 inch which is a real pain to fix on a table saw. read more

Clearly after reading these reviews I must seem to get the "bad apple" employees the majority of times I visit this store. I am not typically one to write negative reviews but two times in a row I have left the store feeling very frustrated and had wasted trips and I feel that the management should be aware. First, I feel that this store is understaffed many times we visit and it takes a long time to even find somebody to help you, not acceptable and especially during busy weekends. There are several employees that really know their stuff, are friendly and genuinely wanting to help but I wish I could say that was our experience most of the time. A lot of the younger staff members seem to be very unknowledgeable and have an annoyed attitude when you ask them a question. I literally had to find somebody in a different department today because I could even deal with the poor attitude that one of the employees had. We had also left the day before empty handed because of the same employee. As homeowners and avid DIY'er's we frequent this store minimum once a week and it is really unfortunate that we have a bad taste in our mouths at this point. I would say if you are looking for employees that really know their stuff and you don't want to feel like you are inconveniencing staff by asking any questions, look for another HD or smaller hardware store. read more

Miserable fucking people at the paint area... sooo rude for no reason at all. Would never go back again

I ordered Sku #832780 online and received via delivery the incorrect item (Sku 832777). The delivery itself was problematic as it was received a day late and callously thrown on my front yard with no indication that it had been delivered. I was also told hit would be wrapped in plastic to protect from rain but that was not the case either. I initially did not realize the wrong product had been delivered so proceeded with using the paneling which were used for a ramp. I have used the 3/16" before with no problems. The 1/8" began to crack in places and it was then I realized that it was the wrong product. When I called the store to voice my frustration I was told the only recourse was to "bring the items in and switch them out". This was not possible as a) I had already used the items and b) I received them via delivery because I don't have a truck. Very frustrating and this is not the first negative experience I have had with Home Depot. read more

Buyer beware if you are having flooring delivered they can't seem to get their act together!!! I ordered like there pallets of flooring from this place about three years ago, and I was told it would be brought into the house by the delivery folks. The day of delivery I found out they only leave it in the driveway, well I lived in a condo so it could not be just left there. The store sent a couple of men to bring it in the house, so they did provide some customer service. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, and once again I ordered flooring to be delivered to my home. I was told by the flooring person, as he was cashing me out, that my 99.00 delivery charge would cover delivery AND they would bring it into the house. I was told the delivery date would be on a Friday. Come Thursday of last week I am sitting in my pajamas sipping my coffee in the morning, not yet showered, or ready to be seen by the public and an unknown number calls my phone. The message is the delivery driver telling me he is a half hour away. WHAT? NOT EVEN A WARNING THE NIGHT before? I was told they call using automated systems and to bad if I didn't get a message or the call, but that they will be at my house in a half hour, and will not bring it in to even the garage, which I still had to clean out and sweep. I call the manager, Brice, at the P Home Depot and he declares that the truck couldn't possibly have my flooring and that it must be a mistake. I call the delivery people back and the driver, who was truly a gentleman told me he absolutely does have it. The manager then calls me back and says oh, yea, they are delivering it now, but I can send someone over to help bring it in the house. Yea, thanks, but I am not even showered yet, I don't want the whole world seeing me like this. It may sound vain, but I am very shy and don't like the be seen without make up etc. Anyway I tell him no, and the manager then tells me then I should refuse the delivery, and he will schedule it another day. Like I really trust these people to deliver it on another day!!! Thankfully the driver was gracious enough to bring the flooring pallet into my garage for me. Home depot did refund my 99 delivery charge, but the headaches this has now caused twice is absolute ridiculous. IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE Home Depot AND GET YOUR HEAD SCREWED ON STEEIGHT. I purchased a carpet recently and had a major issue with the installation. This complaint is not so much for Home Depot but the company (ACS) that they use for carpet installations. I had an appt. booked for Thursday, May 4th. Got a call around noon saying they were wrapping up their job and would be on their way. Got a 2nd call an hour later saying they hit a snag and couldn't be there til 5pm. The install takes 4-5 hours so it wasn't an ideal time for them to come but we had already moved all our upstairs furniture. Long story short - they never showed up. I was rescheduled for the first appointment on Saturday morning. I was told they would be at my house at 8am. Well...they rolled in at 10:30am. I had two whole days wasted due to this not to mention my husband and father both took a day out of work on Thursday to be at the house to help move furniture. ACS could have cared less and didn't even want to talk compensation. They said "we can give you a $100 refund but that's all". I'm sorry but that is unacceptable. The good news is that the people at Home Depot stepped up and paid me $150 for the inconvenience even though it was ACS that should have paid. I kept complaining to my contacts at ACS and eventually they sent me a check but it was a battle. Their messages when you call are all about Customer Service and if something isn't right, we'll make it better. That's a bunch of crap!
