Personally I've only had good experiences here - very helpful staff and plenty of them unlike certain other home improvement stores. My last visit a friendly gent helped me find all the pieces to replace a sink drain, and walked me through all the steps. Great to know there's a location out in this part of Port Coquitlam. Parking is available in front in the large strip mall parking lot. The location doesn't seem as clean (dirt on the floors etc.) as some of the other ones, but it might've just been a bad day. The management at this Home Depot location is absolutely ridiculous. I was at Home Depot the other night when someone came and stole something, and aggressively PUSHED an employee to make his exit. That's ASSAULT. The worst part is, not one manager came to help this employee or stop this customer. What if he had a weapon? Ive seen these robberies happen at Home Depot countless times and seen no one try to manage this at all. They just let them walk out. They should be posting their faces from security cams and never letting them back in the store. Or hire Security?! I will never understand and couldn't believe my eyes at the time. A Baffling Lack of Customer Service I used to like this place and am renovating my house nearby and have made frequent trips, but this just left a very bad taste in my mouth We recently bought about $375.00 of stuff and we had two $200.00 Visa gift cards to cover it. When we got to the front desk, the cashier made a mistake and rang through one gift card, and the rest as cash. We had already paid with one of the cards, but didn't have the cash, so the sale wouldn't work. They said that they would void it, and the balance would go back on the card straight away - "this has happened before, and it goes straight back on" . Well, when the money didn't go straight back on and there was no sign of it, they just stood there and stared blankly at us. This apparently was our problem, not theirs. So we called the Visa cards, but could only get voice mail. After literally about 45 minutes of trying to figure things out and blank stares, we had two choices - we either leave the stuff (which we needed) there or we put the whole thing on our own credit card, and either way hope that the gift card money reappeared at some point. Nobody helped us at all. We paid on our card. We wrote to Home Depot a few days later to tell them about it (and tell them that there was still no sign of the money on the gift card) and their solution was that if the money did appear back on the gift card, we could drive there, and they would refund our credit card, and charge the gift cards. That was it. I know people make mistakes. I just feel that there is no ownership of their mistake here. This might not seem like much, but this really was a serious pain in the butt with us having to move money around to make this happen, and us alone having to resolve this. We mentioned this to them and received the reply of "well...what do you think we should do?" - again it's on us? I don't feel like our business means anything at all to them. Nice attitude and mostly pretty helpful when you ask questions. Although not as thoughtful to give you a bag for smaller and individual/spreader items. The cashier just assumed we didn't need one (no asking either) because we had the cart (bought a lot of soil and plants/flowers. Home Depot have a lot of locations and many different things you can get there at reasonable prices! This one is a bit far from the bus stops compared to some of the other Home Depot locations but like most, lots of parking spaces so you don't have to worry about that. I went there to buy an air conditioner and was helpfully guided the right way by a greeter. That saved me a bunch of running around. They were down to one model (not surprising in a heat wave) but it was a quick and easy process to get it. Unfortunately it ended up not fitting and I had to return it, but that took all of one minute. No hassles, just a question to know if something was wrong and I was on my way. Very impressed. I've been coming here for years and they've definitely improved on customer service. It used to be non-existent. read more

Don't by Hampton Bay products from HomeDepot. I have been a loyal HomeDepot shopper for EVER. At my previous condo I had 3 black Hampton Bay umbrellas, and they were perfect: didn't fade, didn't have any crank issues. FAST FORWARD 2016: This spring, with my 50 degree deck, I went and bought 2 dragon fruit red Hampton Bay umbrellas and 2 Suntastic deep lounger deck chair pillow sets. It is August, and I now know it is all garbage. The umbrellas have faded in 3 months and the stuffing for the seat cushions have completely broken down from 4 inches think to one! Good news, I can get a store credit, and then outlay another $400.00 plus shipping to buy off of HomeDepot online. The store can not do an exchange because their product line is the same as the Hampton Bay defective canopies. So in plain speak, I can lend the HomeDepot store $400.00 until I need something that the store sells; and then in the mean time spend the same amount again online. No a store credit can not be "spent" online! If you research the internet there are all kinds of bad reviews for the Hampton Bay umbrellas and the patio suites; there the glass table tops explode and the swivel seats break off their bases while people are enjoying dinner. Don't buy Hampton Bay from HomeDepot! It is overseas garbage. read more

I had two unsuccessful online purchases and pickup at Port Coquitlam store recently. We ordered a chest freezer in March and the scheduled date for delivery is 11th April. We haven't received an email/notice/call until 11th as promised and had to call to get updates. The customer service said it's on back order until 22nd. But he wasn't sure of it. So the only thing we can do is to get refund after waiting so many dates. We went to Costco store nearby next weekend and bought one right away. Then we ordered a Pine-Sol online. After we received the third informing email for ready pickup, I went to this store and waited at the designated parking lot. A Home depot assistant kindly booked the order number and returned after 10 mins. He said it wan't there and can give me a refund. Understood due to the chaos caused by Cov-19. Went home and checked online showing the order has been pickup. Had to make another call to the store the second day. The customer service said my order was there. Apparently that assistant didn't have a good look and do a refund either. The customer service and shopping experience at this store is used to be excellent. But the online shopping experience is extremely poor. Not recommend. read more

Service is always a hit or miss here... It's kind of like a game you never know what your going to get. The varieties are better than the one on united blvd and the customer service is a step up from that location so koodos to you! As for my experience here the service is slow, everyone seems to pass the buck to the next person for help, and ultimately they don't seem to want to be there. read more

I just love Home Depot. Those that work in the departments are just wonderful and are very informative and know their stuff. The lady that works in the paint department is just incredible. Wish I needed paint more often. Wish that I could remember her name. Really a great experience whenever we go into her department. I would of loved to have given the review more stars but as much as their floor staff is great, their cashiers are really lacking. What happened to saying hello, how are you, did you find what you needed, is there anything else that you need, thank you and have a wonderful day? If you can't do all the ones in between than at least hello and good bye. It's not that hard. read more

Lazy staff that don't know anything and can't be bothered to help you or find someone that knows anything in their specific department. They were short of a product that I wanted so I found a guy who kind of spoke English and he radioed for someone to come to that department to help me. Waited 20 min and no one came. I left. As I was walking out I saw a bunch of staff members just standing around socializing. I'll go somewhere else to spend my money. Place is a joke. read more

I cannot believe the unprofessionalism provided to us by a Home Depot estimator . He goes on to say , don't use Home Depot they are expensive , quoted us $32000 for a 200 sq ft bathroom. Then says he can get his friends to do it for less. No experience what so ever , could not answer many questions . Hiring Home Depot for renovations is scary . I used them in Edmonton 20 years ago but even my neighbour said it's changed and Home Depot just hires anyone to fill a spot now . Overwhelmed , busy , substandard renovations that's normal for Home Depot. It's a big investment , you'd better pick a good contractor. Home Depot = substandard renos. Good luck !! read more

I love this Home Depot! I go to this one and the United Blvd one a lot. It's a little smaller and sometimes less well stocked than the Coquitlam one but it's newer, more organized, the atmosphere is more "warm & cozy", and the customer service is just amazing! The employees are friendly and most have gone beyond the call of duty for me! I don't know his name but one fellow who helps with car service and such is so incredibly friendly and bubbly. He greets and acknowledges everyone and really knows how to brighten one's day! Well done!! read more

I bought decking material from the port coquitlam home depot. They recommended and sold me the wrong Ducan deck surfacing product. Both Ducan and the Homedepot admit they made an error and Ducan even did a site visit and have confirmed the product will not adhere properly. The best fix they have recommended is that I pay them another $600 and my own labour to glue down vinyl strips over a non adhering surface. Five years later no fix and not even a refund for the incorrect product. The deck sheathing is now ruined. Thanks Home Depot! read more
