I found the Customer Service at Home Depot very friendly and most helpful as I had a challenging return today. The manager reassured me the transaction would be easy to process, and I would get the refund on my card. I purchased a pellet stove from a local HomeDepot about a month ago. The unit was drop shipped to my driveway, literally. The truck showed up tossed the stove out , and ran. We retrieved the unit from the driveway, paid a contractor to move it into our house ( up to our second floor living room). Upon removing the shipping box we discovered it had been severally damaged, looked like it had been dropped off a fourth floor balcony. I immediately contacted the local HomeDepot customer service. It took 3 days of negotiating to get them to pick it up, credit me and reorder a replacement. I was reluctant to continue the purchase, however the rep promised to make good , said they would ensure the replacement would be intact and inspected prior to delivery. I received notice early this week it had arrived. I waited , and waited for a call. Nothing. So I went up to the store to check in. No one there knew anything about the sale. They had to search for the unit. Totally past problem for them, no one cared. I had to arrange for an independent contractor to pick it up and move it for me. Lesson learned, HomeDepot has no concern for their customer , even on a 2000$ sale. So think carefully before you shop there. read more

We just happened to be in the area, and we needed to return a few items to Home Depot that were not working properly... then we attempted to re-purchase the same type of items (in this instance solar lights to put on top of posts that connected to railings)... when we returned back to the Camp it turned out that they were not the correct sized lights, they were far too large to fit the smaller posts :( Unfortunately, the closest Home Depot is approximately 30 minutes away, so we were quite bummed that we could not install the lights. A few days later when we were in another area of town we returned exchanged the wrong sized lights/for the correctly sized light post fixtures at a different home depot, and we had the employees at that store verify that they were the right size in front of us prior to leaving the store. There is nothing above average about this home depot... it just seemed to be whatever. No one seemed to be overly helpful, nor did the store seem to be set up a nice as the stores back home in Arizona... but at least the women who assisted us at returns were super sweet, so they are the reason I am rating this store two stars instead of one.... read more

I came to this particular Home Depot because the one in Saratoga no longer carries wood stove supplies. This one does, but the supplies - what were left of them - were pretty picked over. That's somewhat understandable, since this was during a cold spell after a few snowstorms. And they obviously knew that. For example what few Duraflame creosote-removing fireplace logs were selling at significantly over the price at which you can get them on their website - supply and demand, huh? There's absolutely nothing wrong with this store, but for some gut-reason, it didn't feel up to par to me. The paint department was wide open, but that also meant it did not have as much paint in stock as some others I've seen. The major appliance section was also smaller. It felt like this particular store had a larger portion of the store devoted to building supplies. If you are driving north on U.S. 9 to get here, avoid entering the plaza to get to this store anyplace earlier than at the traffic light. I did enter earlier, and in the dark, combined with poor parking lot lighting, combined with 10 food high snow banks, I felt like a ball in a Pachinko machine going all over the place trying to navigate to the actual parking spaces in front of the Home Depot. Of course that's more of an issue for the plaza owners and not this particular store, but it's something of which to be aware. read more

Too long of a wait for help in flooring dept. Customer service dept not really interested in helping.

There's never anyone on the floor to help. Return policy sucks. I bought cheap off color blinds to make due since no one was around to help me cut a pair of nice white blinds, thinking if I found what I was really looking for before I took these out of the box I could just return them. The store associate nor the manager would even give me store credit because I have made "too many" returns. I explained how I spend a lot of money here and only return a few left over materials at the end of projects. I will no longer shop here and will be taking my business to Lowes. read more

What a bunch of jerks at the Glens Falls/Queensbury NY store!! We purchased a washer & dryer. The store refused to send someone to install the appliances. So now they are coming back to pick them up. They have the worst customer service I have seen in a while. I would think during this time company's would want to earn your business. I ordered a riding lawn mower that was going to be delivered Friday May 29th Well needless to say that never showed up and no call either. So at 9pm I called there customer service line like the web site directed me to do. I was on hold for 45 minutes when a service person finally answered she told me she could not help it was with the store and to call them in the morning. So at 6am this morning I called the store. I was told they will check into it and call me back 2 hours later I had to call them back and they still did not have an answer for me so I canceled the order of course. Service department is a complete joke. Lucas (service technician) Bob (service supervisor) , and Evan (store manager) are incompetent and unprofessional. Kept my snowblower for over 3 months and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it nor communicate with me. They claimed to have fixed it and it was ready to be picked up just to be told it needs a complete engine rebuild then the story changed to it might need one and they have no idea what's going on. Couldn't give an accurate estimate besides maybe $400 could be double or could need a new engine. Don't waste your time. Your toddler could do a better job. read more

Home Depot as a company gets 2 thumbs up from me as a simple "do it yourself" type guy. They have great hours, the staff is very friendly, and they will cut your wood down to more transportable sizes if you do not own a truck. They take returns on practically everything, have trucks you can rent, and tools you can rent as well. This Home Depot does a fine job and I have bought many tools, garden supplies, auto supplies, wood, and tons of other stuff from here. Great staff who know what they are talking about. I'm going there right now to pick up a new reciprocating saw. Woohoo! read more

The two star rating is because the store is mildly clean... that's the good part. The bad part is that the people that work here just DO NOT CARE about their customers. I've been here multiple times looking for specialty light bulbs, trim, grill equipment, tools, etc. Every single time I've asked for help.... what they told me was wrong. I had to go looking all around the store for items that they told me they didn't have. I found the items, I showed the employee, and they shrugged their shoulders and walked away. Just an example. I have a bunch. I'm writing this not as a hatchet job, but rather a warning. The store is pretty well stocked. It's just that the people are slow, not motivated, and seem kind of annoyed that they have to work here. In fact some of them are downright miserable. So... if you need anything that involves having to interact with the staff, just plan to spend extra time. You'll need to be patient with them. The registers are slow too. You can buy stuff here, and it's not bad pricing either. Just beware that it takes long and the employees are mostly useless. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!! If it were possible to give NEGATIVE 5 Stars I would. I don't know if its this particular Home Depot, or just Home Depot in general, but the level of incompetence and an overall lack of consideration and concern for their customers is massive here. My wife and I needed a new washing machine, since out current one broke down. We went to Lowes first since it was near us, but their earliest delivery date was 2 weeks, having a need of a new washer as soon as possible we opted to try HD instead. HUGE mistake. The initial sale went fairly smoothly after we selected a washer, we took the 5 year warranty option, Paid $700.38 total with our debit/credit card, selected a shipping date on 10/4/17 where the sales person told us that the "delivery center" would call us the day before to notify us of a specific time of arrival. Yesterday (10/3) came and went with no call from Home Depot. Feeling some concern, since we have had delivery issues with them in the past, my wife called up to check on the status of our washer. At first, she was bounced around because nobody seemed to be able to find any record of our order, this set off an immediate red flag so my wife checked the bank. Our banking purchase records did show a debit of $700 from the previous Friday from Home depot, so we persisted in pushing the person currently on the phone to keep digging. Finally we get switched to someone who tells us that our order was cancelled. When we questioned why this was, they actually had the audacity to claim that there was a problem with our payment going through, despite the fact that our bank statement clearly showed our account, which had more than enough money in it to cover the purchase, was indeed debited $700, so we asked for further clarification. Once again we were placed on hold. After about 5 minutes, someone else picked up..."Mike" the expediter, who proceeds to tell us that there was some glitch in their "Order system" which facilitated Home Depot cancelling our order and "refunding" our Money. We checked our account and NO credit of $700 has as yet been issued, pending or other wise. When I asked Mike "who cancelled the order?", he couldn't give me a name, when I asked him for a transaction number, he couldn't provide one, when I asked him why it was cancelled, he could not give me a specific reason, when I asked him why nobody from Home depot had called me before cancelling my order, his answer was "Well, this came from our delivery department in Albany", when I asked him who was it in Albany, he couldn't give me an answer. In fact the only thing they could confirm was that we were not going to receive the washer we had already paid $700 for which they had guaranteed would be delivered on 10/4. Feeling my frustration and anger mounting, I asked to speak to a manager. I get a manager and once again am told that he cannot give me any definitive explanation why my order was cancelled. The manager informs me that they no longer have any of the specific washer I ordered in stock, but can sell me the floor model for the same price, but to placate me offer to give me the 5 year warranty ($125) free. But the earliest delivery date is Saturday 10/7. No, thanks, I want a NEW machine, and any retailer will tell you that the second it comes out of the packing its considered used. Plus, I want it on the day they initially agreed on, as I took off from work to be home, and cleared my schedule due to the fact that they never gave me a set time. After being told that there was nothing they could do, after THEY screwed up, I decided to cancel my order and let the refund stand. Oh and FYI despite the fact that when you pay they take that money instantly, when you get refunded it apparently takes 2+ days for the same money to get back in your account. Some racket eh? This is the second time I bought something from Home depot and they screwed up the delivery. Last year was a $400 gas BBQ grill, stayed home all day, nobody showed up or called me. When I called them they claimed that their driver showed up and nobody was home, but they left a phone message. Total bullshit, I was home all day and was sitting out front of my home, and nobody ever called me. This is incompetence and negligence of a level I have never seen from a store chain of this size, the first time its an accident, anything after that is just shit business. Lowes here I come. I will NEVER shop at home depot again. read more

This has got to be the most OUTSTANDING STORE on the east coast compared to the rest of their stores. Walk in, I'm personally greeted by a very beautiful young lady I wanted to date right there on the spot. This team is so knowledgeable, respectful, courteous, kind. I know the stigma Home Depot has across the board, but those of you who are a tourist now and a contractor at home, check this store out. We Know how other Home Depots are filthy ? I first went to Lowes to buy a lawn mower and bought two, brought them home and neither of them worked. I then decided to go to Home Depot (should have in the first place I always use Home Depot) and I asked if they would put the lawn mower together for me and start it to make sure it works. Here is my problem with Home Depot. Whoever design these buildings hopefully has long been fired. However going into one door and parking near your entrance when you come out 200 feet away because you need to check out all the way down on the other end of the store and then to walk back to your car and they have the curves so you can't go through the cars you have to go all the way around back to your car. It is currently 5 degrees out and I am flash frozen trying to just go in and get some light bulbs. I absolutely hate the design of these stores and they need to be changed! read more

We called to see how we could apply my veteran discount on an online order and they said that we needed to come in and they would order the items (patio furniture) and apply the discount, while still giving us free shipping. Upon arrival, we were told that the free shipping wud not apply, despite being told this on our initial call. The best they could do was 1/2 price on the delivery. After traveling 1 hour to the store, we begrudgingly decided to pay 1/2 of the shipping. The items were supposed to be delivered on 05/05. No delivery, no call.... I called only to discover that they pawned it off on another location and that I needed to track it down. Home Depot is a crack organization that really doesn't focus on veterans and customer service as much as they claim to. How about taking accountability for your actions and the actions of your associates and managers and stand up for your customers. I should have gone to Lowe's, where I am always respected. It's a little ridiculous how much my boyfriend and I love this store. We always look forward to going to this Home Depot because everyone is so knowledgeable and helpful! You walk in the store and they immediately approach you. I have been in so many Home Depots that you have to practically beg for help and this one is the complete opposite. They pay attention to you so much that the second time we were in, they were inquiring about our home reno project and wanted to know how it was going. I highly recommend this store! I wish it really was a better outfit than Home Depot and Lowe's in this area because between the two of them you hope to get something. I went in looking for crack filler for my driveway, the first employee I found, an older woman in her fifties, told me that she didn't have her little thingie with her (her words) and to talk to someone in paint, they had it. It took me 20 minutes to find someone in paint, guess what, he had no idea what I was talking about and pointed me to the other end of the store, because "It's down there someplace", wow that was helpful. I found a third employee who pointed me in the right direction. I spent 30 minutes in the store to find something that was by the kiosk near the exit. I was wondering if Home Depot started importing their help from Walmart. read more
