We start Summer 2021 with yard duty! Mulch looked well cared for at the RICHLAND HOME DEPOT. The parking lot was clean, and carts available to load our purchase with ease. We look forward to returning for garden and cars needs!

I bought a brand new LG kitchen set 18 months ago. I bought a 3 year Refrigerator protection plan. It's almost been two full months I've been waiting for them to fix it or replace it or give me a refund check! I have had three repair men here they have bought parts online and sent them here. Nothing is getting fixed they either don't have the tools or the training to fix this new refrigerator and one of them broke a piece off the back of the compressor he was the one who ordered the compressor. We are having repair guy number for come on Monday, August 9! Somehow we dropped through the cracks if you're going to buy a warranty or insurance on a product ask a bunch of questions before hand

THE SITUATION: I was super tired after a graveyard. My new bed was just delivered (forcing me to stay awake for the delivery). Movers noticed I didn't have support under the center of my bed frame. So, a little project was required. THE PLAYERS: A Sleepy Senor Sleepington & The Home Depot THE SOLUTION: I had to buy some lumber. Nothing complicated, but I needed to buy some extra flats and supports for the new mattress I was lusting to sleep on--PRONTO. I took measurements and was ready to make this little job go fast. I just hoped I wouldn't have to buy a saw (cuz I'd probably only use it for this one job, and then probably only end up "playing the saw" in my soon-to-exist redneck band). After picking out my lumber, I saw a Cutting Station: YES! So, a saw wasn't purchased and within 5-min I had many pieces of wood ready to go! PROBLEM SOLVED! (I was slyly sleepily snoring in no time!) NOTE TO THE DUMB (i.e. me): Buy the cedar! A 10' piece was $10. I saw the maple listed at $2, and thought, "maple it is"! It wasn't until the wood was cut and I was rung up when I got the $50 surprise! Yeah, the $2 pricetag was by the foot!! D'oh. This is why I shouldn't make hardware store trips! Who cares, Home Depot hooked me up and I am soundly sleeping now. :)

In the parking lot, ready to buy all the stuff!

I can't wait. The staff were also very helpful, kind & knowledgeable. Specifically I worked with a brunette lady the first few times I visited who taught me about evergreens and ground cover and today I worked with a blonde lady who helped me pick lavender and a peach tree. My garden is looking great and I even got a compliment on it the other day. I really think it's thanks to the quality of the plants they have here, as well as the help I received, because I do not really have much of a green thumb! I will say I did not take the advice of keeping my peppers indoors when I purchased them in a colder month, but they are still budding/ flowering even though the leaves are not in their best shape, but that's my own fault for being impatient.

My first visit to the nursery was fantastic, thanks to a gentleman named Max who educated me about juniper trees. This past Monday, my boys and I returned in the morning to look for edging material and enjoy the flowers. However, we had an unusual encounter with a gentleman who approached us. When I joked about causing a ruckus and suggested he put my boys to work, he responded in a stern tone, saying they didn't need any help. It felt quite strange. When my son heard a horse and asked about it, the gentleman responded in Spanish, a language neither of us speaks. This left me feeling quite taken aback. Initially, I thought it might have been a misunderstanding. However, when I shared my experience with a coworker, she mentioned that Woods Nursery has a tone that can make visitors feel unwelcomed, which aligned with my experience. It's disheartening because Woods Nursery is such a beautiful place, and one unpleasant interaction can impact the overall experience. I believe the gentleman might be unaware of how his approach comes across, and I hope this feedback is helpful in making the nursery a more welcoming place for everyone. I ended up going to Home Depot and buying the same materials needed for a quarter of the price cheaper.

Garden Gate Nursery is primarily a wholesale nursery specializing in trees, selling to landscaping…read moreprofessionals throughout the year. But, they open twice a year for two weeks each time, once in Spring and once in Fall, to the public! What does that mean and why is it exciting? Because, this nursery up-pots their trees on-site. They have professionals that know what they are doing, watch the trees develop, and nurture them to health and maturity. Trees are available from 10 gallon pots up to 45 gallon pots and all at prices much lower than other local nurseries or big box stores, and much healthier too! They provide information on establishing your newly planted trees, and if you order a large tree such as one in a 45 gallon pot, they can arrange to deliver your tree on a flatbed trailer on one of a few scheduled days of local deliveries. For a small extra fee they will warranty your tree for one year. It will still be cheaper than other local places that warranty their trees included in the original price. I highly recommend purchasing trees to enhance the look and value of your property and this is a great place to buy from if you can plan ahead or get lucky enough to be looking around the time they are open to the public in Spring or Fall. They are a bit of a drive out of town, but well worth it in my opinion. We purchased an 18' tall birch tree (in 45 gallon pot) and a 7' tall japanese maple (in ~25 gallon pot?). We are very happy with our trees, though the japanese maple did incur some small scrapes to the trunk and a few branches during the move, I think it will heal nicely. The japanese maple was a grafted tree and it's beautiful! Everett, the owner, came over to look at the tree as I thought it could have had the trunk buried which could be a problem in the future. He happened to be in the area and came over in 10 minutes to help me figure out what to do. I really appreciate this kind of considerate and real customer service that can be hard to find these days.
