We bought a new air conditioning unit through Home Depot in the spring of 2019. Home Depot contracted with ARS Rotor Rooter in Wilmington to install the unit. In August 2022 the unit failed to cool so we contacted ARS in Wilmington for a service call. The unit was under warranty so we felt it was best to deal with ARS. After a $116.00 "diagnostic" check we found out the fan in the unit needed to be replaced. The fan was indeed under warranty but the labor was not. It cost us $587.00 in addition to the $116.00 we had already paid to get the fan replaced for a 90 minute service call. I can't believe Home Depot would be partners with a company that so overcharges for its services. Richard read more

Now that the Holden Beach True Value is going out of business, the Home Depot in Shallotte is my go-to hardware store. It's conveniently located in downtown Shallotte, just off main street in the same plaza as the Office Depot and Belk's. Recently, I found plastic adirondack deck chairs for $17.98 each, and small outdoor accent tables, perfect for holding tasty beverages and snacks, for only $9.98 a pop. Two chairs, four tables and all for under $100. Not too shabby! This location also has an excellent garden center, and the staff is both knowledgeable and friendly. Otherwise, it's basically the same as every other Home Depot. Consistency here is not a bad thing. read more

terrible customer service . bought a ryobi edger. lasted 5 months. took it back to the store and they told me that i had to contact ryobi. ryobi wanted me to drive to the nearest service center over an hour away or mail it to the service center and that the service center may not be able to fix it. at lowe's you can return warranty items right to the store. seems like a lot of hassle over a $100 edger. read more

Visited the store on July 18, 2022, to make several new purchases for our new home. No complaints with the floor staff which were very helpful in taking their time to assist me and my wife with our questions regarding certain product. Very clean and organized with a "May I help you attitude" that beats the store back home in High Point NC where our primary home is located at. Well, for the last month, I've been telling the garden Dept. About moving stick from the upper shelf to the lower to replace the stuff that's missing. I'm about to climb their racking to get what I need. Basically, everyone from the Dept. up to the store manager should be embarrassed. We want let it be known that the shopping experience we had at the Home Depot in Shallotte was the best we have ever had. Steve in building supplies helped us from loading on a cart to loading on our trailer and getting other items in between. There was another associate who helped him but we didn't get his name. I usually like Home Depot but this one leaves a lot to be desired. I took a photo off of the Shallotte Home Depot website of a Kohler toilet seat. The young man that works here told me it does not look like there website, but it was, and then he tried to help me find the toilet seat and could not, him and another young man employee. I tried to pull up their website but the internet signal sucks in there, but I went to front of store which brought up the HD free wifi was able to pull up said toilet seat, went back to the plumbing department and those two employees were not there. I did find another employee, an older lady that I don't even think worked in the plumbing department. I showed her the toilet seat again on my phone and it took her about 60 seconds to find the toilet seat I was looking for, so 1 star for the two guys working there and 5 for the older lady working there. so sorry HD you only get 3 stars. If I just found the older lady first, this HD would have received 5 stars read more

Warning. Don't go there!!!! Ordered Laminate Floor and Vinyl Plus Install. TOTAL SCREW UP. "Special order" floor was sent to wrong store/lost/late, Installers showed up (for only Laminate - NOT for the vinyl) Stated the floor was unsuitable, where the "measure guy" did not see an issue. And refuse to install until I had a Contractor fix the floor. A TOTAL RIP OFF! I give the whole situation a big fat ZERO. Store management DID NOTHING TO RESOLVE. read more

I recently received an estimate for granite countertops to be installed in my Sunset Beach home. I paid for the order and picked out the slab. Now Home Depot says that they have to rent a crane to lift the slab to the second floor and I will need to pay another $750. This is 20% more than my original estimate. Terrible customer service.
