Generally the staff is good, however during my last few visits, there appears to be a micro-management issue. One cashier named KIM seemed to be a reason that I definitely WOULD NEVER want to work in this store, and I struggle to understand how this store can keep any cashiers on staff if this KIM person is in a position of authority. Does this company not understand that micro management of staff is one of the main reasons people leave otherwise good positions. As well she seems to single out one or two cashiers and continually corrects any and everything they do, from what could tell while I shopped and checked out. Other than witnessing this abhorrent treatment of seemingly competent staff, I am happy with Home depot and the products and selection they offer. I really found their attention was beyond anything I'd experienced before. People literally approach you asking if you need help or if you're finding what you're looking for. Going to this location at Home Depot is like going back in time where customer service was a real thing. I can't believe it hasn't got a five star rating! It is by far the most friendly and most knowledgeable staffed Home Depot I've ever been to. I am a general contractor that shops at Home Depot lots. Lastly I want to comment on the fact that they have seasoned employees who are in their departments who are waiting to assist you, not like other locations where it seems nobody's working in the store and if and when you find somebody, they're usually covering for someone else and have no clue of what you need. Staff at this location are knowledgeable and helpful. My most recent visit was to buy a garden shed. Home Depot had a better selection than Rona at slightly lower prices. The lady who helped us did an excellent job of showing us what was available. The gentleman who delivered the shed was prompt and efficient. read more

I seem to go here all the time for my building supplies. The people in the electrical department have no idea about anything!! The worst part. I came here on Sunday and the internet hours said they were open til 8pm. I got there at 6:05. People were still leaving the store and people were still in line paying for their stuff. The entrance was locked so I tried the exit door. There was two ladies inside. I asked are you still open, online it says your open til 8. One lady no we are closed they are summer hours. The other lady no we are closed. Neither were very friendly. Then I simply asked, because their was people in line still. I drove 45 min to get here just to grab one thing of drywall mud. (I have bought it many times before this) I explained. I know where it is. Or if you could grab it that's all I need. I got a no we are closed. I think that if a customer drives 45 mins and their website says their open til 8 and there's people still in line. They could have made a 5 min exception. Not happy at all. We are doing a total renovation. We spend a lot of money there. But I guess I will take my business to Rona across the street. I can't write about the service as I rarely shop there, but I am disappointed at the amount of garbage that surrounds this store front and back. It seems that they do not take any responsibility in contributing to a clean environment. It is an eye sore to Spruce Grove and I believe that businesses that contribute a large amount of garbage to the environment should be held responsible in cleaning up the yard around their business or be fined. read more

Been here numerous times for numerous home improvement projects. The staff are knowlageable and helpful and they always seem to have the tools and supplies needed. If there is a problem there is always a fast equitable solution. A shed that I purchased had a broken window. The manager asked me if he refunded me $50.00 and I got it repaired on my own would that be fair. I said yes and within an hour my problem was solved and it cost me $less than $20.00 and an hour of my time. The traditional solution would have been to send it back to the manufacturer and wait for a replacement. I think thisstore is GREAT!!! read more

I went to the contractor desk to rent something. The person working the desk said they did not have what i needed. I came back a week later and asked the same thing, and the person said they did have it.... Everytime I come to this store I walk around for 30 mins and the workers avoid me and no one asks if I need any help. Most of the people are rude and don't have any manners. I went in looking for assistance for carpet installation. Asked the young lady that was working in that area and it seemed like she could use a bit more training in the knowledge and have a better attitude for customer service. I then went to the front service desk to inquire if there was a regular employee working there during the week to get more information then was offerred and she deferred me back to the last lady, I stated I was looking for someone with more knowledge and confidence in the information I was seeking and left....hearing from my daughter that the worker at the service desk too it upon herself to roll her eyes at me upon my leaving.....I almost went back in and told her a bit about good customer service!!!! Have you ever tried to get service where you want to get counter top material? I have been there six times now. This time I sat right at the desk. Happened to have two employees come by in a half hr time period and asked if I needed help. Yes, I answered, will we will try and find the lady who works here. Will that went and gone. It was my second time there that I happened to run into the lady, just because someone had her first. I went through what I wanted, arranged an appointment, they will get back to me withing 48hr's she said for arrangements. Exactly five days later I got a call. Not sure who's fault was that, but they said they only just got the ticket for the call. Anyway, going back to original story, I am cancelling anything to do with this install. Can you imagine how much trouble I would have to get service if something went wrong. Get tired of these companies that don't care about their customer service. But its managements fault. read more

I dropped off a sketch at your store this morning for a quote on aluminium deck railing. The associate who would do the quote was not there but another took the sketch and assured me it would be done. I received a quote from RONA early this afternoon. I phoned your store to find out if a quote was done. After my phone call to your store I don't know if a quote was done, if the sketch was passed on or what.
