Service is terrible. If you call the store, be prepared to wait on hold for an hour without speaking to a real person. I ordered 2 doors 5 months ago. I am still waiting on one of the doors to arrive in town. They lost the original order for the missing door. I was supposed to have the other door delivered yesterday but they cancelled. Now I am calling the store AGAIN to rearrange delivery and I have been on hold for 50 minutes now. They told me the delivery charge would be $75 for both, but now it looks like I will have to pay $75 each as the orders have become separated. I am a young woman who just bought her first house. I went to the Home Depot this Sunday (Jan 4th) to purchase a key-pad lock box for my front door. I was approached by a man who then asked me, "Not to play with those." I was honestly very disappointed in the assumption that I was a child and was "playing" with them. This was very embarrassing and offensive. I was looking to purchase one for my home, but now I will be taking my business to Kent. I am very disappointed by this interaction. read more

If you have a choice avoid Home Depot in St Johns their customer service in non existent. I placed an order and paid extra for specific time delivery of a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood. Heard nothing from the store when the item did not arrive on time and could not reach anyone on the phone. I even tried to reach the manager on duty and the phone was hung up on me. It wasn't till i actually went to the store 2 hours later that I was informed that the special delivery person brought the item back to the store and said it didn't fit in their vehicle. Really, a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood is exactly what it is and any delivery driver contacted should have been aware of what it was. In total I had 4 different people trying to phone the store and no one answered! At no point was I even contacted to say the item was still in the store so I could make other arrangements. Absolutely terrible customer service and totally not up to the standards Home Depot sets! I will be reporting to their Head Office. read more

Ordered a Samsung fridge. Of course Samsung informs us can,t make the scheduled delivery date.So I call home depot to cancel as the new date was not suitable given we would be travelling out of province.I was informed that "Samsung would charge a restock fee " since the fridge already left and was in transit. Firstly maybe Samsung could have let me know before they shipped it and secondly I bought the fridge from YOU Home Depot , not Samsung. You will never sell me anything again. Do not make any major purchases from this location! So I purchased a John Deere D110 lawn mower from this location two weeks ago. I did not have a truck so I had to pay them to deliver it to me. It arrived with no battery and other mechanical issues. I have been struggling ever since to try to get them to find out what is wrong with my brand new, expensive lawn mower, to no avail. Home Depot blames the company they have contracted service to for the condition of the mower, while of course this company (Nortrax) blames Home Depot. Meanwhile neither company is willing to take steps to correct their errors and provide me the mower that I paid for. I currently have a $3,000 lawn ornament in my shed to look at. After getting no satisfaction from the staff in the lawn and garden centre I attempted to call the store manager. The customer service agent listened to my story and said I definitely need to speak with this manager. I was subsequently put on hold for an extended period, when somebody finally answered it was the general staff in the lawn and garden centre again. I am sure this ongoing saga will take months to be corrected, and I will have snow on my lawn by the time I have a working mower. Customer service at this location is horrendous and the store manager hides behind his front line staff. I will never make another purchase from this location. If you value your money I would suggest you don't either. read more

I think you may want to hire someone with experience or give your staff the training it needs to help people. Do not bother to call these guys! Complete waste of time. Called the lumber yard 2 days in a row to try and get a price on special lumber. Two days in a row, my call kept getting re-routed, where I was being treated like a yo yo back and forth from lumber to customer service, until eventually somebody hung up on me each time! I ordered and paid for fencing last week and received an email advising that I would be notified when it was ready for pick up. After a few days with no email, I tried calling. I called multiple times over a period of days with no answer. When I finally had an employee answer my call, her phone cut in and out and I only managed to gather the info that my order should have been ready in two or three days, but wasn't. The next morning I received an email advising that my order had been cancelled. It took me a half an hour of calling to reach anyone. The employee I reached advised that she couldn't replace the order as I had cancelled and I would have to reorder and go to the back of the queue. I spoke to a manager who rudely accused me of cancelling the order. I finally was able to convince her to let me order the wood again. She then told me they didn't have enough wood to give me. Apparently, they had never had the amount of wood I had ordered. After moving from another city where the Home Depot staff were amazingly helpful, I am disappointed to say the least. I ordered a Firman generator from Home Depot. Ca and realized the next day that a generator from Costco.Online was $100.00 cheaper so I cancelled my order from Home Depot. I was told by customer service that since my order was not shipped, my credit card would not be charged. The next day, my credit card was charged with the purchase and I would have to wait until it arrived before I could get a credit and I would have to return it to the store to get a credit. I was not happy with that and called Sameday to ask them to redirect it to the store. They said Home Depot would have authorize the redirection so I called the store and asked them to change the delivery address. They said they would. Of course, they did not do it and yesterday an attempt was made to deliver to my home and we were not called in advance about the delivery. Now, I have to go to Sameday in Mt Pearl from St Philips and pick it up and take it back to the store to get my credit. Never again will I order from Home Depot!!!!! read more
