They have a great selection, excellent delivery, and prices are usually lower than other place. Their customer service is abominable. I tried many times to purchase solid surface countertops through them. I tried in person, but waited 20+ minutes after the department was called and provided no service. I called multiple times, but after being transferred they simply hung up (this was not an accident, it happened multiple times). Appointments cannot be made, apparently the can not answer their phone, nor can they return calls. read more

I don't know what all these negative reviews are about. This reinforces the fact that people only write reviews when they're irritated, not when they're happy. First of all, I am super grateful that there is a Home Depot an Traverse City. we have had a great experience with them on a 99% of the occasions where we have gone there or needed something or ordered something. When I call, a wonderfully pleasant woman answers and helps me out. When I go, I can always find someone to help me come out which is a pretty neat trick and given the worker shortage. While I always try to support local businesses when I can, there are times when you need the selection or the value of a Home Depot, and this location does just a good a job as any other! read more

I have ordered 16 water filters through the app. I got notified that all my filters have arrived at this location. Once I went there, they only had a half of the order and they didn't know where the other half is. Then they ordered it again. They don't know when it will arrive and the service there is horrible. They gave me a an eta of 14 days. They barely answer the phone. Had to wait 12:30 minutes before someone answered the phone. read more

First we bought a refrigerator/freezer from the Traverse City location. It began frosting up, and not starting cold. Called the TC location-on hold with so many different people. No one was helpful. Had to call Frigidaire who scheduled a local repair for me. But then I had to pay out of pocket when they came to repair it. It was a huge hassle to get paid. Bought a dishwasher a year later. It was damaged, so we had to schedule another delivery. Was put in, not draining...so had to call Frigidaire again. They scheduled through "A and E services" who were ver confused on what dates they had available. I got several texts after scheduling a date, that it was no longer available. Still waiting to have it fixed... Do not buy appliances here. Their location in TC is not helpful. Especially when it involves a repair or is under warranty. Huge hassle, wasted so much time on phone talking to some answering service who know where.... I'll go to a small local company next time read more

I used to love Home Depot and they got all my business. We even bought our kitchen from them. Two months ago they were not enforcing the mask law. I stopped my business. The other day I went there again, they are still serving maskless customers. There probably were 10% of the customers not wearing masks. I read the CEO was supporting this health and safety of it's customers, that is NOT the case in Traverse City. Menards is supporting the mask, a much healthier environment. read more

Purchased drywall, then told they were delivering on Tuesday - which they did. I told them it was supposed to rain on Tuesday and I was concerned about water damage. They stated it would be wrapped in plastic, and we wouldn't have to worry about that. When we opened the wrapping a few days later, it was soaked - and they refused to take it back. We have been on a several months long project building a home. We've had multiple reasons to interact with HD customer service reps. Almost without fail we have found them to be helpful and desiring to do their best. Regardless of issue, whether our mistake or a HD issue, they have worked with us to resolve things in the quickest, easiest way. Our family has been most impressed with their customer service and their desire to be friendly even when over worked and understaffed! PLUS HD honors VETS! Flooring! Don't order carpet from Home Depot!!! So where to begin? Bottom line is the flooring crew is not helpful. We stood waiting for the only person to help us tonight on Black Friday until she was finished and as she finished she looked away from us and asked a lady 25 feet away how she could help her...We were standing there for 15 mins before the other customer and the associate clearly saw us. We talked with another associate who said we need to speak with a specialist cause she can't work the computer. When she try to find a specialist she kept referring to a man but then as we asked again she said the lady siting at the desk could help but we'd have to wait till she was finished once again....The helpful associate asked the rude associate when she'd be in tomorrow to help and she said after noon or we can call in the morning and speak with some man why we couldn't get help from the associate tonight is beyond me. Clearly we were a hassle to her and the other associate couldn't help at least she was willing and honest. I've left names out on purpose cause they know who they are and shame on the one who ignored us. Apparently our $2400 carpet order wasn't worth her time. We wanted to pay for the order and had a question before we did pay how hard isWhat a waste of our time. Think twice before you buy from Home Depot or at least maybe take a number so they can't ignore you when you need help...Maybe just go to Lowe's they are always more than happy to help. Very disappointed . And as a disabled Vet i just have to say it's really disappointing to be treated like a piece of dirt. So frustrating. First off, Kacie in Customer Service is wonderful - ask for her if you need help! I had a large order that I wanted to pay for and then have picked up by my dad the following day and she helped me organize everything, get it paid for and confirmed pick-up. It all went smooth as could be! Truly helps to have someone competent behind the counter. Snagged a great new 5-burner grill floor model for $200! And, assembled...wahoo! Of all the big box hardware stores in the area I like Home Depot and Lowe's the best...Lowe's being a bit more high end, but really they are basically the same. They have what I need, people are mostly helpful, and midweek its slow so you aren't feeling the frantic energy of full-time workers trying to get their homes and gardens in order in a short time frame. They have most of the things that you'd expect of a HD. Only I went in there a couple days ago and they didn't have a single portable A/C unit. It's HOT right now... how is that possible? Otherwise, parking is pretty good, and staff was friendly (but not terribly knowledgable on A/C selection). I'd go back if the location were more convenient... but likely I'd pick Lowe's over HD in TC. read more

But I wanted to let folks know what a scam the "buy your water heater here and get it installed the next day" is! Well, we bought ours there, brought it home and called the number given us. At the number there is one of those 'if this, push this' phone service mazes. Then i waited and waited and waited for someone to actually answer to no avail. i tried three times and finally gave up! I had a awesome experience with Candy in the home furnishings department helping me order my blinds for my entire home. She was so friendly and so helpful. The best experience ever!!! Since I already had vinyl Bali(12 years)and had no issues I went with Bali for my new Faux wood blinds. Which are up and look beautiful. She ordered them naming each blind,ex bath, living room etc.when they arrived to my home much to my surprise Bali labeled them just as she did!that made it easy. Installing was a breeze! Thank you Candy for truly showing customer service. Also a kudos to Bali they packaged them with so much care, there was no way they could ever been broken in shipping. I am a very happy customer. So there store logo is how doers get the job done well at this home depshit nothing gets done! The store is a a mess all the time. Can never find a cart or flat bed cart to load lumber or I fact anything. Pre-ordered lumber on a Tuesday morning (@6am) it's Friday afternoon now They were suppose to get the load of lumber on Wednesday morning. Nobody calls you, nobody picks up the phone. On call attempt number 3 and holding for another 30+ min. I'm at the job site now so I can't leave and grab it because this terrible home depshit is horrible. I hate going to this location I only go because it's the closest one around and because my employer has an account with them through the pro department. I have ordered carpet from this store twice, and both times there were big delays. This time the manufacturer notified the store that my carpet was out of stock, but Home Depot never informed me of this. My last conversation with the carpet manager was, "he didn't know when it will arrive". There will not be a third time. read more

An ongoing mess. We ordered and paid for a full set of kitchen appliances on April 17. Delivery and installation were scheduled for May 4. On May 4, our new Bosch dishwasher arrived with an enormous scrape down the front stainless panel. Damage was so obvious that the crew did not even take it off their truck. So delivery and installation for a replacement dishwasher was scheduled for May 18. On May 18, crew arrives with replacement dishwasher but they will not install it because "it's not on their order." We have receipt showing that we paid for installation as well as the installation kit and power cord. But we're told it's "not their problem". Dishwasher is left sitting in the middle of our kitchen. We track down the delivery subcontractor after crew leaves and they acknowledge their mistake. So now installation is scheduled for May 25. We ask delivery subcontractor to narrow their arrival window on May 25 because this will be the third day we've had to clear our schedules to wait for crew. They refuse this request. Simple purchase has turned into a huge hassle. We have reached out to Home Depot via 800 number and text and are still waiting for a call back from the Traverse City store manager. Update on situation. Impossible to reach anyone in store via telephone. Transferred to appliance department and put on hold for 20 minutes. No one ever picks up call. Went online and live chatted with Home Depot customer service. Online rep arranged refund of installation charge. New delivery crew installed dishwasher on May 25. Happy we have a dishwasher, unhappy it took three very frustrating weeks. Second update on July 4. Dishwasher was incorrectly mounted. It fell off brackets tonight and tipped completely forward out of recess. Dishwasher unusable. read more

My very well behaved dogs are accepted and welcome here. The other 2 big box home stores shriek at you as you enter if you have your pet - like you've got a monster on your leash. It's summertime and hot in the car - I could understand in they sold or served food! So, I spend my $$$ where we're all welcome. Last evening, a dozen different HD workers smiled and stopped to pet them, as did many customers. I found every worker friendly and helpful about where to find stuff - and since I was not in my element (I'm more an office supply store shopper), that meant asking quite a few! I went in quite determined not to buy what my deck guy told me to as I didn't believe in the product. But the nice paint department lady explained it to me and even added stuff I would need, while mixing paint for a couple shoppers and advising several others. Good job, HD. read more

Well let me say that Home Depot probably does not vet their contractors very well based on our experience. We had a new roof to be installed last October and the "roofers" that were sent proceeded to set up a METH LAB in our garage while they were there to roof our cabin. Anyway after many hassels, ( driving up there to sign for subpeonas...twice!) etc....we will have to appear in court for two different trials in Bellaire over the next 6 weeks. Of course we live 3 hours away.....kids in school and a dog ...etc! Fun! read more

Your commitment to solving my frustration would have been better served with proactive communication and managing the order process with the right product. Although I'm a bit delayed in writing, I must highly commend Pro Desk Associate, Tim Caputo, for his diligence, support, and significant knowledge in assisting me in the completion of my rear yard deck. From the beginning when I lost my subcontractor, and Tim helped me locate a replacement, to the times when we had to revise plans, Tim was always there to support me. He went overboard by leaving his desk and communicating both on-site and after work hours on his cell-phone. As my project progressed, Tim counseled me on cost and build options as we went; he answered my questions in an insightful and reflective fashion. Given my naivete, I could have been taken advantage, but never during the project nor in retrospect, do I have a sense it happened. There were no cost overages or issues with ordering, delivery or quality. Tim was there with me from start to finish; I would highly recommend him and his company, Home Depot, Traverse City. Pathetic. Paid to have interior custom doors measured on March 15, 2014. Came to my house 2 times to measure. First time measurement had the doors 2-3 inches too tall. I'm glad I noticed. Finally obtained correct measurement of doors. 8 weeks later - STILL NO DOORS INSTALLED!!! We did this in March so we'd be ready for my daughters open house. read more
