Every manager I spoke to would "look into it and call me right back". You know who you are, P and K. We've had good experiences in the past few decades purchased roofing, windows, siding, appliances, garage doors and spend several thousands of dollars a year at the Troutdale Store. That good service ended this morning with an interaction with the manager in self checking over a five dollar battery coupon. We've used these coupons twice in the last several weeks while making purchases. Today the manager told us that Home Depot doesn't accept these coupons although the coupons are with the batteries for customers. We explained we used them twice, recently and had no problems. He then went and removed the coupons and said a rep put them there. We told the manager we were purchasing from Home Depot and not a rep. An experienced manager would have honored the coupon and removed the others if this was in error. This five dollars that Home Depot saved just lost them any future sales to our family. A company that's worth billions and this is how they treat long term customers isn't where we want to shop. read more

The sales of a washer and dryer was OK, nothing to write home about. The installation was awful. The install team was more interested in getting done for the upcoming weekend that doing it properly. The did not install the new semi-ridged dryer duct which in the documentation stated that it was required. The just used the old duct without even checking it out. The install team did connect the washer to the water supply faucets but did not connect the dryer even though it had the steam option. The duct kit and dryer water kit were just kept by them even though they were paid for. After inspection their work, I also found the install team did not even use a strain relief on the dryer power cord, but ran the cord through the back of the dryer through a hole having sharp metal edges, violating building codes. I contacted Home Depot and after several calls, were able to schedule a return visit of the install team and will see if they will complete the job. The install team also tracked a lot of mud in on my carpet, which I had to clean up after them. You would think they would use the cardboard from the boxes to provide a walkway read more

Been coming to the Troutdale Home Depot since it opened back in the early 2000s.. for this visit, my father and I came to look at some plants for the yard. Wow, they have a nice large outdoor garden area that we lost time in. They have so many variety of all fruits, veggies and plants that it was a little overwhelming to pick. We grabbed some Hula Berries (white strawberries that taste like pineapple) and strawberry Pop (taste like strawberry bubblegum). We got Roadies, and Azaleas too that I can't wait to get big- so pretty and looks like good quality. Home Depot is great, they literally have everything for your home projects- We even trained our pup on her leash here, as they allow (well-behaved) dogs on a leash inside. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a Bk, Taco Bell / long john silvers, and a bank in the same area- mt hood hospital is nearby too. There is a nice large parking lot that is almost never full, but can become busy around lunch time. read more

Every time I go to Home Depot it turns out to be a nightmare. The last few years everything I buy is either dried out or something else is wrong. I buy paint and it had been frozen, hard and defective. I buy Silicone and it's dried out. I buy glue and it's dried out. Almost everything I buy needs to be returned, A real pain. All the expensive wood for my 70-foot fence is defective. Some of the 4x4 in ground posts rotted out in one year. and now they are all twisting, Unbelievable. To check out your item requires to stand in line while the self-check outs never work properly. Now I will avoid Home Depot no matter what. After being a loyal customer since Home Depot came to Portland. I use to love going there, now I hate it so much that when I leave, I am very Pissed off Always check out Amazon before going to Home Depot. I am surprised by what they offer now. I'd give them no stars because the greeter at the door is clearly racist. I walked in and the greeter said nothing to me. A Caucasian gentleman walked in behind me about 6 feet back and I hear the greeter say "good afternoon". And then he said it again to the next 2 caucasians who walked in. As I left I literally stood in front of him and waited for him to acknowledge me. It took him at least five seconds of staring at me before he finally said "hello" I didn't even respond, I rolled my eyes and left. Management owes me a big apology and needs to fire that racist. I'm taking my business to Lowe's. I called the manager and she didn't even apologize. In fact she defended that guy. She should be fired too. I don't like doing this but today this Home Depot made me soooo mad, i wished I could do anything, anything at all to put that whole place out of business. Home Depot sucks! Their customer service has dropped to about 2 rungs above abuse and today was another example. Our dishwasher broke and we're in need of one today. I could order one, but I figured I'd head to home depot because we needed to get a garbage disposal as well. We found a dishwasher there that was on sale. I didn't wanna spend $1000 bucks on a dishwasher, so I was looking at decent one that was setup the way we liked for a good price. So we decided to buy... that's when the punishment began. See, when you want to buy larger ticket item like an appliance, that's when they decide that you're stupid for even trying. Bear in mind, I need a dishwasher now... If I could order it, I wouldn't be there. I found a female employee sitting at a computer in the appliance section. I could see she was on her personal phone scrolling through Facebook. I politely apologized for interrupting and explained that I'd like to purchase this dishwasher. She appeared annoyed with me (I know, how dare I be a customer here right?), then looked up from her phone and told me she isn't the appliance persona and knows nothing about them. She pointed to another guy who was seated at another desk near the appliance section and told me to talk to him. I walked over and asked him about the dishwasher. He also appeared annoyed with me, but followed me to the dishwasher. All of his body language showed me that he really didn't wanna help. I showed him the dishwasher and without looking anything up on a computer or on a phone immediately told me they could order it for me. I said, "Well, I need it now, do you not have it in stock?" He said, "I guess I could go check." So he left us in the aisle for about 5 or 10 minutes then returned and told me it's not in stock. My wife and I really liked it, so I asked if he could check to see if any of the other Home Depots nearby had it. For the first time during my whole contact with him, he got out his phone and looked it up. He told me that the Mall 205 location had 3 in stock. It was only about 10 miles away but it was Friday, during rush hour, with gas that costs $5.50 a gallon. So I asked, "Are you sure? Because I don't wanna drive all the way over there to find out it's not there. "Yep it shows they have 2 in stock and one on display." So off to the Mall 205 location we went. At the Mall 205 location, once again, the first person I talked to in the appliance section didn't know anything about appliances and couldn't help me. So I found another employee, a male who looked to be in his early 20s. He was on a computer in the appliance section. I told him what I was after and showed him pictures of the unit at the Gresham location. I had also taken a picture of the price tag which had the model number and unicode numbers and stuff on it. Once again, without looking it up in the computer he started walking down the aisle looking for it. This guy's method was to find the price tag with the same price. Even though there were at least 15 other dishwashers with the same price. So of course he couldn't find the one I was looking for. I pleaded with him to look it up and see if they had it in stock. He pulled out his phone and looked it up and told me he didn't know why the other guy told they had any, they were actually at "negative 4 in stock". Then he told me he was going to go look one more place and left. We stood there for a long time. Like at least 15 minutes. Then he returned and seemed surprised that we were still there. He told me they didn't have it in stock but he could order it. I told him that I can order it, I came to HD because I need it now. He couldn't help and it was obvious he didn't want to. We left, and then were stuck in Friday rush hour for almost 2 hours only to return home without a dishwasher. Now I'm ordering it and having to wait. But I ain't ordering it from HD. I'm on yelp right now, because the attitude of both stores was sooo bad. They legit had a FU customer service attitude. It was clear that complaining to a manager wasn't going to do anything since it's clear they don't give a F about customers. Please people, I'm begging you, stop spending money at HD. They're never going to improve if we keep showing up and giving them money. This is one of many piss poor experiences I've had at HD's around my area. This is it. I'm done there. Don't be me. I don't usually do reviews and feedback unless it's truly something I believe needs to be shared. I recently bought a NexGrill from this HomeDepot and had it shipped because I didn't have the means of picking it up and transporting it to my home. When it arrived, the box was beat up but honestly didn't think much of it. Come to find out towards the end of putting the grill together, I discovered the metal had been damaged during shipment and didn't allow the grill to be put together properly. I hate having to make phone calls on stuff like this, but I reached out to HomeDepot and got ahold of the manager on duty, Ian (assuming that's how his name is spelt) and told him my situation of a busted grill with no way of getting it to the store. He listened to the circumstances and was willing to allow us to use one of their rental vehicles to take the new grill home and bring the old one back, and just return the deposit put down on it and discount the cost of the grill so it would end up paying the cost of the rental. It was really cool of him to be willing to think of that solution to help us out, but when he realized how close we live to the store, he took the initiative to coordinate another supervisor to drive out and actually deliver the new grill and pick up the old one so I wouldn't have to make the trip. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to be home when they were going to make the time to do this for me, so I planned on calling back the next day to see if we can still make this plan happen. Once the next day came around, I was going to wait until after I got off work to call the store and talk to Ian again since he understood the situation. Once I got off work, before I could even call them first, Ian reached out to me to touch base about getting these grills swapped out! I never expect a store or any manager to go out of their way to reach out, especially when some time has gone by. But that evening he sent somebody out, and the grill they brought was already put together for me! I honestly was expecting to have to put it all together again, but I was really grateful for such an easy trade and be able to have the new grill already ready to go so I can start enjoying it! Thank you HomeDepot, and THANK YOU Ian for being so flexible across out multiple phone calls and coordination to make this happen. Best customer experience I've had so far in something like this. This would have easily been a 5 star review 2 to 2 amazing people in the tool entel portion of the store. Both Alex and Anthony are absolutely amazing and have great customer service skills. However this one star review is not for them. This is for Nathan in tool rental. I just had a very unpleasant experience with him. We rented a tool prior to the store closing on Friday night and after speaking with Alex and our contract we were to return the tool at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning. I had accidentally overslept because we were up past midnight working on the house and called the store at 9:15 a.m. to apologise and say that we were running late. Nathan had told me and inform me that we had a grace period for one hour while I had the phone on speakerphone. I arrived at the store at 934 and checked in with Nathan. He had difficulties about what time we checked out the tool and mistakey told me that we had rented it out an hour earlier Than we did. He then told me the that we were getting charged for two days instead of one. I was very confused as to why and asked Dennis. He said that he told us the grace period was for 30 minutes and since it was 10 minutes after that we were getting charged an additional day. So we are being overcharged for an additional day when the store already has the tool. read more

Before I even start, I'm pretty sure you know what I'm going to say. The employees are playing an elaborate game of hide and seek with you. It's the only plausible answer as to why there is no one ever there to help. I must have some sort of cloak of invisibility. Because on the rare chance I do see someone, they can't see me. Walk by without even acknowledging my existence. The parks and rec line of "I know more than you" is never more true than with this store. Luckily, I found Camps. A local lumber store that has everything I need, and much better quality of wood. And the True Value has everything else I need, with customer service. This review is for Home Depot Delivery. Yesterday five small refrigerators were delivered to my place of residence for shared housing. Most folks who live in this house are living with a disability. They aren't able to do a great deal of things beyond activities of daily living. That's the background. The delivery driver simply backed up his truck and started unloading without making contact with residents. When asked if he could bring the refrigerators inside the residence and line them up along the wall, the delivery driver said, No! He continued to unload placing three of the refrigerators on the covered porch. When he ran out of space he placed them two deep blocking the front door. One of the residents had to physically lift and move the two refrigerators to the designated spot along the wall inside the door. Each refrigerator is about 4 feet high and weighing approximately 50 pounds, perhaps more. The resident has arthritic knees and it hurt to move those refrigerators but it was a definite safety hazard and they had to be moved! So, from the sale to delivery it could be thought that good customer service would dictate for the driver to bring them inside the house. He was well suited to come inside the residence as he was wearing a mask. Why he couldn't enter the building and line them up along the wall is beyond me. It's not like he was being asked to do setup. Such poor customer service and support showing a lack of urgency for folks living with disabilities. This Home Depot Delivery Driver as the face of Home Depot really makes Home Depot look bad. read more

Part 1: This is how my weekend went at HomeDepot: Having just completed my recent home-improvement project, I had a few items to return and a few to pick up. I had the receipt for the items, which came to all of $8, but it took me more than 90 days to complete the project, so they had to issue a store credit rather than a refund. No big deal, because I shop there so much. They wanted my ID. Mind you, I didn't have to show ID when I first bought the items, I had the dang receipt, and my ID , of course, was in the car. I went out and got my ID. I stopped to get a few parts I needed and used my brand new card to pay for them at the self checkout. They required I show ID to use the stinking card. I chewed out the manager and left and never did show my ID. Part 2: Wifey decided we need a new barbeque the following weekend. I gave her the stinking card, which had $5 left on it. She got there and picked out what she wanted and presented the stinking card and they wouldn't take it! Why? Because it was in MY name and not hers! She didn't buy the barbeque! Lesson learned: Lowes does not make you present ID to obtain or to use a Lowes card for returns. They also sell barbeques! read more

I have been coming here for several years now. The pricing is moderate to somewhat expensive for most of the items. This store has just about anything you could want or need for your home. I have purchased; plants, garden supplies, a smart thermometer and various other items. The staff is helpful and can direct you to what you are looking for. The store is very big and feels like a giant warehouse. The garden are has a wide selection of plants during the spring/ summer. Overall, I come here pretty often and are mostly satisfied with the shopping experience. They also have a good return policy and will work with you outside of the return period. read more

Zero stars. Do not interact with this location's psychotic delivery systems. You have been warned. They loaded an incorrect pallet of retaining wall bricks on my contractor's truck and could not exchange them in a timely manner. This held up my job by five days. They made and unmade two appointments during that time only to show up at an extremely inconvenient and UNSCHEDULED time for the homeowner and then made their presence unbearable by performing the slowest manual exchange of bricks ever because they brought no pallet handling equipment. I spoke to no less than six people including two store managers about this single delivery and each and every one of them added to the chaos. I now have the correct bricks but I have lost all trust in this location's delivery systems and management. read more

This place really needs to work on their customer service. I don't have a lot of home improvement needs, and when I do they're pretty simple. However, finding someone willing to assist you in this store is anything BUT simple. Trying to get a wooden rod cut to a specific length was once downright frustrating. Had one employee who said he couldn't help me, and another say he had to do something else "real quick" and he'd be right back. (He didn't come back.) To all potential customers of Home Depot in Troutdale Oregon. SHOP ONLINE! If you see something at Home Depot.com you want... buy it while you're online. That way an employee has 2 hours to find it and put it aside for you. If you come into the store, it probably won't be on the shelf, and if you are able to get an employee's help, THEY won't be able to fine it any faster than if you'd bought it online before you came in. Because of the thievery in our area, everything that's valuable is locked up. So, you have to have an employee to help with each item. Home Depot hasn't hired more employees to compensate for this, so the employees they have are spread incredibly thin, and have no time to put the incoming merchandise or up-stocked freight on the shelves. So, the merchandise you want is buried somewhere on a pallet among a lot of other pallets and takes a long time to locate and bring down. All you're going to do by coming into the store is slow down the overworked employees and get angry that you have to wait so long for your purchase (if they actually find what you want in the mess). We live about hour an half to 2 hours from the Home Depot in troutdale but it's our go to store when we have a project going on! Well we have been remodeling and got a late start into town for an order. We really had t thought a head to call and see if they accepted Google pay and we were using Affirm pay in store so card was a virtual card and added to Google pay. We had about an hour to shop but we knew pretty much what we needed so we grabbed our cart and took off on not quite a run( I don't run unless being chased by a raccoon!) Anyways we got what we needed and got to register at close to realize they don't take Google pay! We really didn't know what to do.. I asked the cashier if we could order online and pay for it that way she wasn't sure and sent us to customer service. Feeling awful that we were keeping the employees so late!(I've worked in customer service for about 35years and I know when it's time to be off you really don't want to wait on one more customer!) But I got to say this was probably one of the best experience I've ever had in a store! I didn't catch the 1st guys name that tried to help us but we had stumped him too! Once again my experience with Home Depot has been disappointing and representative of a corporation lacking empathy and accountability for solving problems responsibly for its customers. Specifically I called this past Friday to obtain advice about ordering hardie plank to be delivered. I was given recommendations to order online and schedule a delivery which I did this past Friday that include an $80 delivery fee. After receiving written confirmation by e-mail that the materials I ordered would be delivered today, Saturday, June 13, the hardie planks did not arrive on Saturday. To address this problem, I called early evening two different times to determine why there was a delivery problem and how to resolve it. This was very important because we had hired someone to paint the planks on Monday. Not only was I informed the hardie planks would be delivered next Wednesday, but also I was informed by an associate and then the manager that I should not have ordered these materials online and they could do nothing about the delivery date. It did not matter that I had scheduled work based on information they confirmed. We will now lose more than half a week on this project. In addition, both Home Depot representatives indicated they were not aware of what the online system communicated to me. It was evident that those working in customer service did not view this problem as one belonging to them. Everyone communicated they could do nothing. A commitment was made that a manager would call back which did not happen. All of the conversations focused on what I should have done differently, beginning with not placing an order online and recommending I shop at Home Depot with more than half of the customers not wearing masks during a pandemic. I have shopped periodically at Home Depot and my overall experiences have been poor to miserable if I needed advice, assistance, or a return on something I purchased. This experience has not been unusual. Last year we needed to return a dishwasher that was too big. It took 12 weeks and 10 calls before my funds were returned to my credit card. For this specific problem, I asked that the order be cancelled and the delivery fee refunded. I am guardedly optimistic I will receive these funds within five working days. I will buy the hardie plank from another business and discontinue shopping at Home Depot. I also recommend they place an ad in the Oregonian telling their customers not to schedule a delivery online because the commitment is meaningless. read more
