We've been buying most of our appliances from Hamilton's since the 80's. Our new name brand…read morerefrigerator went out on us after six months and it was still under the manufacturers one year warranty. However the manufacturers service repairman would be a week out on appointments. After I reported this delay back to Hamilton's they told me not to worry they'll have a loaner sent to me by the end of the day. Folks, you won't get this kind of care and compassion from the big box stores.

This post is warning people to NOT buy the extended warranty option. We have had great experiences…read morewith Hamilton's and its people. However, Hamilton's decided to partner with this company and therefore only gets 3 stars. (I was debating between 3 and 4). We bought a wall unit oven/microwave in 2021 that cost about $3k. The keypad went out. The error code is clear. The system notice tells you. We told the warranty people what the error code said. Extended warranty folks required I be home half a day. They arrive and tell me the oven needs a new keypad. Really?!?! Long story short, the oven is not repaired. It is now a full 2 months we have been without. We had to buy a countertop microwave, but still no oven. Extended Warranty keeps opening and closing tickets, and then stopped communicating because about 4 weeks after we started the process, the warranty expired. Now they don't think they have an obligation to finish the repair even though it started weeks before expiration. We had to order our own part and will install it ourselves. Thank you YouTube. Remedy will be to file small claims lawsuit for the value of the part and cost of the warranty. I only hope Hamilton's makes right with future customers and refuses selling this shoddy warranty product.

I would recommend looking up Glenn when you are in need of appliances, he is the BEST. This is our first experience with DeWhitt, I would recommend anyone looking for a fair price and great service (went in at 2pm today and scheduled to deliver tomorrow) go to DeWhitt.

I had a very good experience a few weeks ago when I purchased a new washing machine. Everything…read morewent flawlessly, including the delivery. So when I needed a new AC unit I reached out to them right away. Unfortunately Glenn wasn't scheduled on the days that I called and I was handed off to Nick. He was extremely short, told me he didn't know much about them, but that I needed to call another company to come and measure first before we could order the unit. He also confirmed this same company "Portland Installations" would install the AC. When I contacted them, they were surprised as they don't install ACs or even measure for them. They were questioning why DeWhitt's would have told a customer to call them. So, when I called back to speak to Nick, I had to leave a message. I waited 5 hours with no call back. When I called the store again, he answered the phone. I said who I was and why I was calling back, that I had left him a message. He shouts into the phone, "Well did you get the measurements?" I said no, the company you referred me to doesn't even do that and they were surprised you told me to call them. He got very defensive, started grumbling, and said well we won't order or sell you an AC unit until you get measurements. I told him I'd taken my own, have the model number and specs of the unit I currently have, and know exactly what I need. Then he started to get really mad and said again, we will not order this unless you have exact measurements and furthermore if you order the wrong product it is not returnable or exchangeable! Then I demanded to know how exactly I was supposed to get these measurements. He yelled out the name of another company, and I told him I had already called and secured another installation company to do this work--and that when I ordered the AC unit, I was going to ask them to ship it to their office location. Then he got even madder! He said, "We don't do that" and "We only order these units in batch orders," and on and on and on. I finally stopped him and just said, "Oh I see then, so you don't want my business right?" I said I just put up 5-star reviews of this place 3 weeks ago--some of which have over 3K views--and now you are treating me like this? He started rambling out model numbers of GE units that weren't even on their website, then he says the stuff on their website is automatically put there by the manufacturers and they have no control over it. And bottom line is they can't get anything shipped until mid-September. At this point I was so disgusted I just told him to email me the models he was looking at and I hung up. I myself have worked in Customer Service for my entire 40-year career. I have NEVER EVER had a salesperson act so insanely RUDE and obnoxious! So I just spent my $2,000 elsewhere and I will NEVER do business with DeWhitt's again!

I write this with regret as we always try to support a local business over the big box companies…read more After a week of interaction I would avoid this company. Lot of good talk but that's all. We scheduled their service guy well in advance but got no notice until the last minute when he was at the wrong address and upset. We stopped at their location in Newberg and gave them photo of the washer info 5 days prior. The service tech (Wendell) showed up with preconceived idea of what was wrong despite even the error code on the machine. Did little to no investigation except saying the machine was over 5 years old, we needed to "junk" it, and to go their shop and buy a new Speed Queen. Totally torched any other product including our Maytag (which they sell). He did no investigative work and walked out. My step son looked on the internet and found the exact problem...unplug and let it re-set. Its now been 2 days since and numerous loads (after a week without a washer) with it working fine. Wendy (the Owner) called my wife today and admitted that their service guy "lacks communication skills". We also have a email from their sales person saying the same thing. It appeared to us he only wanted a show up fee and to sell us a new machine. And they marked us as "out of the area" on the service call even though we are only 2 miles from their business. I hate putting down a local business but I'd avoid this company even if it means going to the big box companies.
