I've been a customer of them for years at this point. service will depend on who you find in the orange apron. The CUSTOMER SERVICE representative was very rude and had a lousy attitude. Employee ID: SGA6160 She was tall, wore a mask, and had gray hair pulled back in a bun. She didn't use any inappropriate language, but her tone was extremely condescending throughout the interaction. I even found myself thinking that maybe it's not the happiest job, but if that's the case, why work in customer service? The role is literally about serving customers. I also noticed how she interacted with other customers, and it was the same poor attitude across the board. No one was being rude to her, yet she still came across as dismissive and unfriendly. Prefacing this with the problem is now resolved. I just feel this review is necessary to protect others from a similar experience. I went into the store yesterday to look at gate options. Found some out in front that I liked but could not fit all of them in my car. A really nice associate at customer service put in the order and assured me it could be delivered tomorrow. I paid delivery fee, got some friends lined up to help me put the fence up (Sunday) and made the plan thinking all was good. 8:20am Sunday morning rolls around and with zero notice, knock, call, doorbell ring anything my order was marked as undelivered and cancelled. I called the store pretty quickly to see what was going on and was informed by someone who truly sounded high or disoriented for some reason basically tell me the order was cancelled because she's new and didn't know where the fence was so didn't know where to redirect the delivery driver. Like, are you kidding me right now Home Depot? After a few extremely irritating and unnecessary phone calls, it was figured out and delivery was set up again, it's just the fact that can even happen to begin with that's left me extremely unsettled by this experience. I went in for some simple wire. The guy who helped me was angry he misread my order, then didn't give me a ticket or anything to scan. The checkout lady refused to help me after she told me she couldn't sell me anything because i wasn't given a ticket, and told me "you need to go get the sku from him" How about you do your job? Get on the radio? Assist me? It's not my fault you guys can't do your jobs correctly, then expect me to fix it? Order your stuff online. Shopping in person just isn't worth it anymore. Worst service ever at a hardware store this evening. Walked up to empty cashier who was doing nothing. I told the cashier I would like to buy a large item ( a work bench) but only if someone would help me load it in my truck. He rang it up and asked me to insert my credit card. Told him (I think in an ordinary tone of voice) that I needed confirmation someone would help me, otherwise I would pay for it and then not be able to take it home. He raised his voice - quite a surprise - and asked if was going to pay or not. He then ranted about how they don't have enough people and called someone who came and helped me. I've been to this store probably a hundred times and always been treated well. But I'm still a bit surprised how rude that young man was. Will be going to Lowe's for foreseeable future. read more

This is not the best Home Depot, and I'm basing this on the level of customer service. Most employees in the store are fair to a few who really know their job. Others, like the lady in the garden center, have a surly attitude and poor customer service skills. After the attitude, she was in the middle of ringing up my purchase, when she walked back over to my cart and charged me again for the same gallon of paint. I questioned her on this, she insisted she hadn't got the paint. I looked at my receipt and was double charged. She couldn't do anything, so I had to go inside and wait at the customer service desk to get a refund. This is not the first time things like this have happened. If employees want a surly attitude fine, but don't overcharge your customers too. It makes Lowe's look like a better option. read more

Decent home improvement store, but our last large order was a nightmare. Ordered 5 different appliances to be delivered a few weeks out. Day before the delivery, I get a message saying it's rescheduled for Christmas morning at 4 a.m. - huh? After a long while on the phone, it turns out one of the appliances is backordered for months, so nothing from the order will ship until that 5th item is available. The updated scheduled delivery is simply not accurate. None of this is explained anywhere when placing the order, so your plans made around appliance delivery do not seem to matter to Home Depot. read more

There were three different employees wearing masks around their necks/not covering their nose and mouth. One of the employees was busy talking with a customer who was holding a mask in his hand but had nothing on his face. He was one of several customers in the store also wearing a mask around their neck instead of covering their face and mouth. (Masks are currently required in public spaces in WA.) I find this distressing, as I shop at this store frequently and in the past have seen employees not only wearing their masks, but scrupulously respecting social distancing practices. I find Lowes to be more inconvenient, but will start shopping there if my safety is going to be put at risk and I'm going to get attitude for civilly asking employees to pull their masks up. read more

My question is, does Home Depot not have someone there to put the sales items in the computer at their sale price, or is this some kind of bait and switch where you don't get the sale unless you can prove it exists? I went to buy a Ryobi HandVac. Found it in the flooring section. With the product was a sign that stated the original price was 79.97 and the product was reduced to a price of 59.00. I asked a female employee to verifiy the price, that it was on sale for 59.00. She confirmed the sales price. I took the product to the garden center to make the purchase. It rang up as 79.97. I told the cashier that the product was supposed to be 59.00 on sale. I told her that I had found the product in the flooring section and had gotten confirmation from an employee. The cashier told me it rang up for 79.97. I stated again that the product was supposed to be 59.00. She asked if I had taken a picture of the sales tag. I said, "No, I don't have a phone with me." She asked what department. I replied flooring, and made the explanation over again. We went through this circle twice and asked her if I had to get a note, before she called over to flooring and didn't get anyone to answer the phone. While she was waiting for someone to answer the phone she told me if I got a picture of the sales tag she could ring it up for the sales price. When flooring didn't answer she tried to look up the sales price on her phone and found the original price instead of the sale price. She called flooring again- no answer. I said that I would just go back to flooring and have an employee call her. She said to bring back a picture of the sales tag and she could ring it up for the sales price. I went back to flooring and could not find the employee that had confirmed the sales price. I found another employee. He came over and verified the price. He said, I could take it up to customer service because I would end up there anyway. I explained to him that the cashier said it could be rung up at the garden center if there was a picture of the sales tag. He took a picture and accompanied me to the garden center. Even after showing the picture to a new cashier there was still difficulty ringing the product up at the sales price. read more

So here's the deal. If you want advice ask anyone over the age of forty at the pro desk especially if they have a beard or mustache. There is one lady there that doesn't have facial hair that is also pretty good as well. It never hurts to ask other customers. If they have well worn and stained work pants with a measuring tape on their belt they just might have the answers you seek. Don't park in the covered loading area if you aren't getting something big and/or heavy. If you park there and are just running in to get a box of screws or look at light fixtures you are a vile selfish piece of dried dung harvested off the stinky purple center of a baboon's ass. If you are scared to let a single drop of rain land upon your precious little noggin then please move out of western Washington. Go to southern California were the rain is scarce and jerks like you are abundant. One other thing to make note of is the lack of exhaust in the men's restroom. I was at the Tumwater Home Depot one day and I could smell the stench all the way down the lumber aisle. It's incredibly ironic that in a store filled with stuff like oh I don't know........exhaust fans, exhaust ducting, electrical supplies, and contractors.......... I can smell someones #2 all down aisle #18. Listen, it's a big corporate box store with all the problems that come with that. The trade off is the selection and sometimes the prices compared to a smaller local hardware store. It is what it is. 3 stars A-MFing OK. read more

Horrible experience. I'd give a zero if it was an option. Walked in nursery side door today in a hurry. Lady cashier at front berated me in front of other customers about walking through "employee area". She said, "see the signs"? I said, "No. I dont"! That's because it wasn't posted. I have a photo to prove it. In fairness it does say it if you come though that direction from the store side. I couldn't see the lady's name tag as it is common practice to not have it showing. They have their names written on their aprons only to have it covered with stuff so a customer couldn't see it. I bought some bolts reluctantly. As I was leaving that cashier wS pointing me out to other employees making me feel very uncomfortable. I'm not done... I was fixing my license plate in parking lot when another employee came up and said loudly, "what do you think your doing"? I said, "putting on a license plate". I had had enough at this point and asked for his name. I kindly called the Manager, Angela... she stated she was sorry.. man was disabled and that area that was an "employee area" would never be posted. This experience ruined my morning. Last week I went to the garden center in Home Depot to purchase some bark. I was looking for a certain kind and wasn't seeing it. I walked up and down the bark/soil wall for some time making sure I didn't miss it. All the while right at the end of the isle there were these two ladies just gabbing on about something not even paying attention to me. I even walked past them a few times to see if they would notice and they did'nt never stopped to check on me to see if I needed assistance. This Tumwater location is about 6 miles from my home, I will never step foot into this site again. I was trying purchase a set of magnets which is located in hardware. One of the issues was that they lock up all magnets which seems crazy for something that is less then $5.00. Since it is locked you have to get an employee with a key. I looked all over the store for someone to assist me, all I found was the person that watches the self check out. I asked if he could call someone to help me which he did 4 times. After waiting for about 15 minutes I walked over to the only person that was help anyone and asked to talk to the manger. He called the manger whom never showed up. After waiting 10 minutes for the manger I left. This store has the worst customer service I have ever seen. Spend your money somewhere else let this store die. read more

The family was looking to purchase a new grill for the summer. We were attracted to Home Depot's free build and propane. However, expecting the military expected military discount we were sadly disappointed. After finding the grill that we wanted to purchase and ringing up the purchase we found out that the item is a 'special' and not available for the discount. Granted the free propane and build might have been better than their competitors but the other store doesn't discriminate against sale items or 'daily special' items. I will say, the store service was excellent and the store built the grill in matter of hours. One of the reasons why I give the store three stars out of five. If you are military...look at your receipt...not everything is 10 percent off. read more
