Man I hate Mondays.... but Tina made mine better! This weekend I ordered siding, concrete and some small items from the Pro Desk in Longview. I got overcharged a little and noticed it after we'd left. I figured it was a simple mistake and, after talking to Tina, I found that there are 2 SKUs on cut merchandise. The guy scanned the wrong one. I had a pic of the "Cut Merchandise Ticket" showing the length and the ticket with the charge. She said I could come in and get the refund. I told her it was difficult to say when since I'm an hour away. After some magic she got me fixed up. $25 isn't a lot in the total, but every penny counts! What I didn't tell her is that I am a 100% disabled Veteran and it is a chore to get a ride coordinated. That played no part in this conversation, although HD is very Veteran friendly, unlike some other big box stores who took away our discounts. She fixed it because it was a customer issue, simple mistake, I had a picture of everything, etc. This is great customer support and service. It is primarily for the customer support and dependability that I do business an hour away instead of 20-25 minutes at an unreliable store who doesn't care how you're treated. As a note, if you have an issue but have not provided HD an opportunity to fix it, you should do better. Everyone makes mistakes, so give them a chance to fix it. Just my 2 cents. worth less due to inflation. read more

Went in to get a few items. Went through self checkout, and the 1st item triggered the machine "Customer needs assistance". While the machine repeated over and over"customer needs assistance" I turned and seen two employees chatting. I did not interrupt, after their short conversation, they continued to ignore the repeated call from the register. I eventually left the items I had on the register and walked out. Usually I found the service at Home Depot excellent however this incident lower my opinion. read more

What a cluster... I have always loved Home Depot in other cities. We went in to this one in Tyler to buy a new refrigerator and washer/dryer. The store was dirty, like trash everywhere. On top of that, it was incredibly disorganized; appliances and carts in walkways, display items in disarray. Most of the items weren't priced or powered. We asked about item availability and there was a masked girl working the appliance are who just did not GAF. She never helped us as we simply wandered around her department. She never got up out of the chair in front of her computer. As we made our way towards the door to escape this third world hellhole, we noticed that there were a ton of employees either just sitting, eating snacks, or arguing with each other about work load or responsibilities. When we left the store, we went to Lowe's. I have NEVER liked Lowe's. However, it was clean, organized, the appliances were powered, and a really nice guy in their appliance department approached us to offer assistance. We chose appliances, paid for them, and scheduled delivery in half the time that we were stuck in Home Depot. Home Depot used to be a happy place for me. Sometimes I would just go walk around there with no agenda and usually leave with something cool that I didn't even know I needed. I'm a Lowe's shopper now. read more

An employee was called to mix a gallon of paint, then we spent 10 minutes waiting for her to rearrange paint on the shelf not getting my paint. I left and went to Lowe's, customer service is wonderful. Was in and out of Lowe's in less than 10 minutes. read more

So I had a delivery today and an item was missing. I called the store and was told that I would have to come into the store and pick it up which defeats the purpose of why I needed it delivered. They never offered to have another to driver deliver it They did, however, refunded the cost of the item. They were polite and respectful but had no motivation to go the extra mile to correct a mistake they made. I can't help but wonder if I was a different customer would have they accommodated me. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I will have to think long and hard before I use their app again. read more

She had an attitude and acted like it was a complete inconvenience that I was there saying she hopes to get off at sometime today. It was 3:35pm.... On 10/08/2025 I stopped in at Home Depot, 3901 Old Jacksonville, to buy fire ant killer. I proceeded to the register, scanned my items, and proceeded to insert my debit card in the card reader. I know the chip is defective and malfunctions, but I also know the process of insert, insert, insert, swipe. After the first fail, the woman standing at the doors observed the self-check registers asked if I needed help. I said "No, my chip malfunctions but I know the process". I inserted the card for the second time and it failed. She walked over to my register and, without my consent, interjected herself into my transaction, over-road my transaction and blanked out my card reader so that I couldn't complete my insert process. She told me to "tap" my card. Having already told her once that the chip doesn't work I had to tell her a second time that the chip doesn't work, and that she needed to put my screen back the way it was. She insisted I "tap" my card and I had to tap it to prove to her that the chip wasn't working! She then returned my screen to the previous page and re-activated the chip reader again, but now I had to repeat the whole process of inserting 3x before I could slide the card and complete my purchase. I was infuriated that she had interjected herself in my business after I had already told her that I did not want/need her help! If I could give a negative star rating I would have done so! Her behavior earned her a complaint on the website, a bad review for the store, and lost customer! Someone needs to explain to that stupid woman that "NO" MEANS "NO" ! read more

Today I was doing research in regards to purchasing a zero turn mower from Home Depot. As I was looking at the mowers in front of the building, Wade (from the garden center) came outside and asked if he could assist me. I could not have been more informed and educated by a better employee... I called Home Depot hoping to get a water heater since the storm busted pipes and ruined my hot water heater. I picked out a water heater and then requested someone to replace it. I did get an immediate call back with a repair person who told me it would cost me $2300 dollars which included the water heater plus insulation. This was for the cheeped 30 or 40 gallon heater. I found this to be ridiculously expensive. I went on to find a water heater and repair peron who did a great job for 700.00. My insurance agent told me that there is price gouging going on in Texas right now due to the storm. I will no longer buy anything from Home Depot. read more

I had a recent issue with a Pegasus faucet, which is HD brand of faucet, that was purchased in the Tyler, HD about 6 years ago. I'd bought these faucets for a home remodel because they were reasonable and were supposed to have a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Not a LIMITED lifetime, but LIFETIME WARRANTY......was exactly what was on their warranty paperwork that came with the faucet. After 6 years, the faucet failed, my plumber said the hot water handle insides froze up and I had to replace the faucet. After 2 messages left at the phone number on my warranty paperwork with NO RESPONSE from Pegasus, I finally called Omar at the local HD and told him what was going on. Omar was an angel, he gave me a store credit for a bit "just because I was so frustrated" with being ignored by Pegasus. I didn't really expect that, but had called because I thought he might want to "bubble up" the problem a customer was having with an HD store brand to the corporate office (having used to work in a corporate office, know that information is useful).........but he went above and beyond with the small store credit. Had a bit of a problem when I went to redeem it because Omar had gone home for the day and an employee at the service desk basically called me a liar because, according to her AND someone she called on the phone, "Omar wouldn't do something like that" that's a QUOTE of what she said to me....but at the last minute a woman came forward that allowed me to use my credit and saved the day! I placed a very simple small order online as recommended by a Home Depot employee. The website said that orders placed within two hours of closing MIGHT not be fulfilled until the next day, as part of the covid nonsense. Okay, so I placed my order first thing in the morning. Near noon I received an email saying that they recognized that I placed an order and NOT to come to the store until they texted and emailed. I waited roughly 30 hours... losing more than a day of work. No message from them. So I cancelled the order. The payment was not supposed to be collected until after the completion and acceptance of the order by me. Several hours later and two email letting them know NOT to collect, and a confirmation from their own website that the order was cancelled, they took the money from my account. This was nothing short of outright theft. They did not fulfill the order, accepted that they would not be fulfilling the order, but stole the money from my account anyway hours after I requested that they lift the hold on the money. AND they never even suggested to me that they would fulfill the order! I have repeatedly contacted this store and the online contacts to no avail. They will not respond. Their incompetence and dishonesty are costing me money, and they stole from me on top of that! There is no hint of any excuse for any element of this. If the management of this home depot and home depot in general wore worth anything, they would personally contact me over this and take some action to compensate me for this nonsense. 100% chance that no contact will be made much less any compensation for lost time and stolen money. NEVER use Home Depot. It is never worth the threat that they pose. This is not a covid-19 issue, this is an integrity and honesty issue. This is a competency issue. This store is no better than a common mugger, and that is a nicer description than they deserve. read more

In January we contacted Statewide Remodeling, who works thru Home Depot. We agreed on replacing our homes windows with a certain color. We signed a contract and we made a nearly $8,000 deposit that day. We were told work would begin in a 4 to 6 weeks. After about 2 weeks I received a text saying they didn't have the color we agreed on. Although disappointed, we chose another color. After another week we were told that color wasn't available and were given only 3 choices that were horrible. At that point, we said we wanted to cancel the contract and have our money returned. He said it would not be an issue and we should have our check within 1 week. That was February 28th and we still do not have our check. I have gone up the ladder to 4 different people with the last person being the District Manager over the Southern Division for Home Depot. I was promised on July 7th the check would be overnighted to me and I'm still waiting. I am horribly disappointed that a company like Home Depot would commit this level of fraud! I caution anyone from using Statewide Remodeling or Home Depot for any remodeling services. We won't shop in that store for anything ever again. They are nothing but lying crooks!! read more

I know there's a COVID-19 issue right now, but I ordered a Weber gas grill from them anyway. I wasn't able to pick it up the day I ordered it due to the new closing hours, so I told myself I'd just be there at 6am and call curbside. I showed up about ten minutes before they opened to make sure I'd be able to get it and go, seeing as I have to be in Kilgore for work at 7am. I called and stayed on the phone for 15 minutes. About two minutes into holding, I walked inside (which defeats the purpose of curbside) to see what the deal was. There was one customer at the counter and several associates walking around, ignoring the phones. I continued to stand there (on the phone) and watch them ignore the phones and start dispersing. After 15 or so minutes, the guy in front of me got finished with his return and the associate helping him was able to help me. I know a $518 purchase isn't much compared to what can be bought there, but I WILL NOT be buying from any Home Crappo ever again!!! It may just be the Tyler location, but if the people coming in and buying items, keeping the store open, can't get service, it's not worth the hassle to go over there anymore. 12-9-17: This is not about Home Depot, per se. It is about the LG refrigerator they sell. We bought ours June 26, 2017 in Boerne, Tx. We live in a RV and are currently in Tyler, Tx. Our RV gas/electric Norcold fridge was worthless, so we purchased a residential LG refrigerator, model LFXC24726C, 28 cf with ice maker. Recently we noticed some frost on our freezer items. Today everything was getting soft. It had crapped out in 5 months 13 days. Called Home Depot, after 30 days you have to call manufacturer. OK. Called the 800 number (16 min), someone in India answers phone. After repeating myself 4 times on every question asked, I demanded an English speaker. 8 minutes, someone with better grasp on English asked for model number, then on hold again. 6 minutes, same person came on and asked name. 10 minutes later an English speaker came on. Repeated everything, asked for serial number, our name, address, etc. Then said it would be 5 business days for a service company to call us and set an appointment. So we are looking at next Friday to MAKE an appointment. No telling how long it will be before we actually get someone out here to look at the fridge. 5 months 13 days to crap out. DO NOT BUY A LG REFRIGERATOR. The product is not good and the SERVICE is absolutely HORRENDOUS. Now we are renting a fridge until we can get this one fixed. read more

The paint department is so slow. When I go by for samples, I always end up leaving and going over to Lowes. Home Depot takes about 20 minutes to even take your order. I don't know why they don't take your order and then let you shop while they mix. It's a complete waste of time. Went to Home Depot today Friday for paint to be special mix and some Lumber to be special cut to size no problem in either dept. Finished and went to checkout. Everything wrung up and asked to swipe card which I ended up doing 3 times. Asked me for another form of payment which I then pulled out another card and she said go ahead and swipe, when that card didn't work she proceeded to tell me that the card readers were down and had been most of day and it is all over TX. Why the heck was she not telling customers that readers were not working and it was cash or check only. I had neither on me so ended up walking out with nothing. Frustrated and upset over the whole experience. WILL NOT go back to Home Depot again for anything. We wanted to order carpet to be installed. Went to Home Depot #6514, Tyler, TX. The first employee I approached for carpet samples, Halina, did not know how to obtain carpet samples for us. She actually did not even try. Later in the year on 08/26/2015, I asked another employee, Bill, how to obtain carpet samples. There was a special for 3 free 8"x8" samples at the time. He did not know anything about that and could not figure out how to order the samples on the Home Depot website. He then became rude and left, passing me off to another employee, Chris. He also could not figure out how to order the carpet samples online. I then went home, got on the HD website, and discovered for myself how to order the samples I needed. But I had to pay for them, because the employees did not know how to get the free samples for me. Ordered the carpet. Measuring service was good. Contractor was good. Carpet installed. The complaint is about the 3 employees at the store who did not know how to do the most basic task on their own website. Order the samples. People cannot choose carpet at the store based on a strip 1/2" wide and 2 " long. Also, Bill was rude and abrupt with us. I DO NOT recommend going to Home Depot for Flooring. The skills and service are lacking, especially the computer skills. This is the second time we have ordered installation/flooring from a Home Depot. The first time was in Pasadena, TX. Experience was even worse. We have learned our lesson and will shop elsewhere. Thx. read more
