Do not use this HD for appliance delivery!! Whomever Home Depot (Celebration Station) uses for appliance delivery is awful. Delivery team (two people) did not use a dolly to bring a new refrigerator in to my house an up to the second floor. In not using a proper dolly, they manhandled the fridge up the stairs doing significant damage to the hardwood stair steps and engineered flooring at the top of the stairs. They also tracked a bunch of mud into the house. Then they literally stood there with their hand out for a tip. I filed a claim with HD's delivery insurance company (Sedgwick). Absolutely awful. Sedgwick takes a week to answer emails. They claim they called me, but no Voicemail left and no record of calls on my AT&T call log. Seems Sedgwick is ghosting me, just hoping I'll go away. My Brother orderd a dryer for his house. I was off so waited. The delivery came the dryer was to big so had a order for it to be picked up and a new one installed. The delivery came today dropped off the dryer asked me to sign. I stated id like to make sure it works first.The delivery person became rude and some what agressive when I said I cant sign for it per my brothers instruction unless its installed. He got on the phone I called my Brother to explain. It might of been a language barrier or home depot gave him a different task then what my brother payed for. I had one of their design consultants by the name of Tamyra come to my home to measure for counter tops and backslash. I paid for the amount of material. Walk Tops their sub contractor came out to install and told me they can't install the backslash as Hugh as Tamyra said it could be. They told me Home Deot needs to refund me for the material I paid for that can not be installed. Well I can not get Tamyra or the Service Center to follow through. It has been weeks of a run around. On January 18th, we ordered a freezer for $912. And a beer fridge 42 hundred and sixty four dollars paying the extra twenty dollars for extra service of bringing it into the house. The freezer was delivered on the 20th. The gentleman was wonderful, brought it inside. And for some reason, the fridge was not brought the same day. That was scheduled to come the next week. It did not come the next week. There was a delay, so a week later we got the fridge. When I opened it, it was damaged. And I called for replacement, I was told by the woman on the phone. To put the fridge on the front porch and ups would be by in the morning to pick it up. The next day UPS came and was very snotty, saying it had to be in a box. I explained, I didn't have a box. She was not impressed. I called home depot. They said they would take care of it. It was not my problem that it wasn't in a box and they were gonna complete a special ticket 3 days later. I received an email saying they're sorry to inform me that because of the weight and size of the item. It was not eligible for pickup for return. I have to either purchase a box and put it in it or take it to home depot myself. So my husband and I are going to take the fridge to home depot on Saturday. After it's been sitting on my porch for a week. We have spent a lot of money over the past 25 years on home depot between 3 houses. I think we might have to find an alternative. read more

I'm a contractor and when I'm in a "hardware" store I'm most likely heading to work, from work or at work. I'm least concerned by all the warm and fuzzy feelings shoppers get from their favorite retailers. Home Depot is my go to choice for materials, yes their lumber mostly sucks like every other budget retailer, my answer to that is lumber order it out when the budget supports it. My point is as a rule of thumb Home Depot has a good selection of lumber and materials at a reasonable price. Their staff are reasonably knowledgeable for the wage they receive. Worst experience of our lives. We needed wire cut and while I was getting other supplies with our daughter, my wife tried to comb the entire store to find someone to help and couldn't so she went to customer service. They called someone but 17 minutes passed and no one showed up. She went up there again and 10 minutes later finally got someone. When we had the whopping $10.88 wire, we were told he had to walk it upfront and if we had other shopping to do. Since when do you have to have a security escort to buy small quantities of wire?! Given the fact that my wife is Mexican and was ignored for almost 30 minutes and treated like a thief over the wire, we're pretty sure this was a blatant example of racism. We ended up only buying the absolute essentials and putting the rest up. This is unacceptable and pathetic. I've only been to this store a few times, but overall it's been great finding what I need. The location is extremely convenient for most, but in typically choose Lowe's down the road. I popped in for florescent bulbs for the bath after not finding the right type a few other hardware stores. Like other bulbs they are changing to LED. I needed the old type, or should I say wanted the old type. I located what I needed surprisingly quickly and was happy they had them. The area was organized. Checkout was fine and I opted for a cashier over self checkout which is 50%. I'm beginning to rebel against these things as it takes someone's job. Staff processed payment, nothing special. If I shop Home Depot in the future I need to come here or Lynnhaven rather than the closer Military. 3.5, rounding up. read more

So sad Home Depot as a company has come to this. It is not down to some locations but mostly an overall business practice now. Be it lack of motivated employees, lack of compensation to motivate workers to do a good job, lack of management or maybe just a combination of all three and maybe few more. While working on a home project I visited Home Depot at military hey and VA beach well over 100 times in 30 days. I was just too focussed on what I needed to get in every time. Only to always forget something and have to come back. Oh well. Every visit was the same, time after time. You can't find an employee to guide you or answer basic questions or help you find an item. Thank technology for the Home Depot app and how helpful it has become. When I found an employee, they all looked rushed as if they were rushing to help a customer in dire need but if compeled to stop and assist you, 90% of the time they would tell you "let me grab someone who works this area, this is not my area and I don't know" only to disappear and nobody ever come back. Worst of all is the check out experience. While this is not only a Home Depot problem I think Home Depot is the worst store where they have 10 registers (or more) only 2 open, and then the self check out area only to have 4 or 5 employees standing just to watch you and make sure you ring everything up. Why not have them 4-5 people assist customers? If you are so concerned with theft, then eliminate the self check out and have those same 4-5 employees do something other than be there shaking their booties and making lame jokes and pretending like they are not watching you while they stare at you but yet unavailable to assist you because they have to watch the registers. The loud music, excuse me, the kids speaker they have on display for customer enjoyment doesn't make it any better either. Sad. Saddest part is that I will still come back because is where everything for home improvement is at. Most of the same review could be sallied to lowes but they are not as bad as Home Depot. More than once I was inclined to ask for a manager to discuss my concerns but then I realized that either the management was part of the problem or they didn't care because there was absolutely no way they wouldn't notice these issues. read more

This HD is close to my house. I like it because it's easy to get in and out. Never crowded and the lot is never full. A lot easier than most big box stores. I've had really good luck with the lumber dept, whereas I've had problems at Lowe's with wood warping easily. Never been a problem here tho. The people are helpful but not overly in your face. They leave you alone if you just want to shop. It's a very clean place, and laid out nicely. read more

Payment Allocation: According to management personnel, all payments are directed towards higher-interest items first. This means that even though I made regular payments, none of it went towards my promotional items from what was reviewed. Manual Allocation Requirement: Adding insult to injury, I learned from this management person that customers must manually specify where their payments should go during each billing cycle. This lack of automatic allocation is burdensome and easily overlooked. Logging into the portal, I saw no visible option to make such a selection. Expired Promotional Items: As a result of this payment allocation system, my promotional items are expiring in 3 days without being paid off. Despite my frustration, Home Depot Credit Services refused to extend the expiration dates, suggesting that I have to wait until the promotion expires, which is a ploy to capitalize on higher fees in my opinion. False Promises: Management suggested I could call in after expiration to " see if they can potentially extend the promotional period". However, this backtracks on their initial stance only adds to the confusion and frustration. Fine Print Confusion: While management argued that this information was clearly stated in the fine print of the application, it's unreasonable to expect customers to remember such details months later. This lack of openness only serves to benefit the company at the cost of its customers. Final Decision: Feeling deceived and manipulated, I promptly closed my account. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and disillusioned with Home Depot Credit Services. To me, their practices prioritize profit over customer satisfaction. In conclusion, Home Depot is effectively exploiting customers' lack of awareness and comprehension of its policies through its credit services. This deceitful approach erodes trust and tarnishes the company's reputation. I think about all the older people to whom sales representatives sell these promotions. I urge others to exercise caution when engaging with their credit services, as they prioritize their bottom line at the expense of customer trust and satisfaction. This review is mainly for Alyssa. She was working the customer service and returns desk back in mid June. I had called inquiring about a tabletop fire pit and they only had two in stock. We asked to place one aside since we were on the way there. When we arrived it was not set aside. Alyssa called for assistance to locate and pull the product but it took some time for other co workers to assist. So Alyssa took the initiative herself to locate the fire pit back in stock and unfortunately the only two left were the display and the other product , the box was destroyed. Alyssa was kind enough to ask if we wanted her to open the box to ensure that all the items inside were there and undamaged before choosing to purchase it. Fortunately, everything was intact. She handled the open box situation and I am extremely grateful for her exemplary work ethic and proactiveness. She truly showed care and concern and knows how to interact with customers. She is to be commended for her excellent customer service. Oh and the tabletop fire pit is super awesome! I'm really pleased with it! read more

I really have mixed feelings about this Home Depot. I've had good and bad experiences. A number of years ago, when I decided drapes that got dusty would no longer live in my house, I had a wonderful experience with a knowledgeable lady who helped me order custom wooden blinds. It gave me great pleasure throwing the offending drapery in my big black Virginia Beach trash can when my perfect blinds were delivered. Now I have to tell you. When I go into Home Depot, it is never to browse. Who would want to browse in that gigantic concrete structure unless a golf cart was provided for transportation. When I enter Home Depot it's on a mission... to make a purchase right then. I had done my homework when I went recently. My intent was to purchase a stove to replace my once loved but now evil stove which would lock my cooked dishes in the oven. After I learned the oven door was "no longer available" as a replacement part, the old stove was history. Having the knowledge base I do on appliance manufacturers, I knew what brand I wanted. I spent hours and hours on the Home Depot Web Site and narrowed my search to one I wanted to look at in person. I was searching on the Celebration Station location. So I expected the model to be on display. It wasn't. A harried looking employee was rushing around. I asked him about the double oven. He said that they didn't have one on display and that if I had looked far enough on the Web Site it would have told me that. Having delivered that curt remark he turned and left. I had looked extensively at the model on the Web Site and it didn't give me that information. Irritated now, I decided to try the oven doors on a different brand double oven. It was immediately evident that the bottom oven wouldn't be doable for me. It would be nice to have two ovens. But I abandoned that plan and picked out another stove in the brand I planned to purchase. I saw another hurrying employee and asked if he could help me in appliances. He indicated that he was going to help someone on an aisle and would eventually return. The heck with it!! I left the store and went to a competitor down the Boulevard. Bummer, they didn't have the stove I had chosen. The new plan was to go to the Home Depot on Military Highway to see if that store had better customer service. On the way I pulled in at this Home Depot to read and answer a text. On the spur on the moment I decided to go back in. I really needed a stove. It is not fun to have your dinner trapped in the oven. Sigh... The employee I saw was the first rude one. I said "Follow me". Then "I want this stove". He pulled the price placard and told me he would have to get a cashier, that he was just the person who walked the aisles. Double sigh... I sat at the cashiers desk and heard conversations in the background discussing the fact that the cashier was at lunch. Ugggg Finally someone came to fill in. She was friendly and wonderful. My paperwork was completed. The process of having my new stove delivered was begun. And my nightmare purchase experience ended. Maybe next time will be better. read more

The delivery company is the worst. You're told you'll get a call the night before with a delivery time frame. Nope never happened. When they got to the house, took all our new appliances, 4 in total, off the truck. Then came into the house and decided they install or even just bring them into the house. Said they were bringing them back to the warehouse. By this point I was MAD. Paid for delivery and installation and got bull. The delivery team finally brought them into the house and installed them, after I said "so the items I bought, paid for , and you have taken off the truck, you are going to put back on your truck and return to the warehouse." The head guy, who barely spoke English, a said yes. At that point I said fine I will be calling the police for theft. Suddenly that could deliver and installed them. Never ever again. Going back to Lowe's, they're a delivery people did what they were hired for without any issue. read more

After talking with him he even tracked us down in another part of the store to be sure he had all the correct info for the order. 10/12/19 - I've never really been a Home Depot fan, but the service on October 12th made me one. We just bought a house in Virignia Beach and we wet to home depot to get a lock keyed to the rest of the doors, and to look at some paint for a concrete floor. First - the lock was keyed quickly and efficiently and at NO CHARGE. I can't recall the last time a store performed a service for free (maybe never). Granted it only took about 5 minutes, but still free, and I didn't even buy the lock at HD. My wife and I went to the paint aisles, and chatted with a couple of employees who gave us several suggestions about painting a concrete floor - One of the employees had just done it in her place. And then to top it off, a customer chimed in with some suggestions as well. My only regret is I can't recall everyone's name that helped. But when I go next I will be sure to write it down. Went to this location as it is my go to HD store. Most well stocked, and they always have what I need. Today turned that around. Went in for 6 sheets of lumber, no employees around in lumber, had to call customer service, when they transfered me to lumber I watched the employee pull the phone out of his pocket and hung up on me. I then walked to customer service. The lady at CS was AMAZING! TOP NOTCH customer service. She personally walked us to the pro desk to get the help we needed. Long story short, almost got in a fight with an associate because they refused to provide us service by cutting the lumber for us. The only employee we encountered at the store who asked us if we needed help was the ALL STAR at the CS desk (she rocks!). Ended up talking to 2 managers. Neither one had any customer service training and blamed both my wife and I for escalating the Situation. We literally wanted 6 sheets of lumber and 1 cut per sheet. It gives new meaning to "fighting for what you need". I literally almost had to fight an employee to get service and products. What has this world come to. To the employee who got agro with me and got in my face I give you props for at least having a job when so many right now are dodging work and collecting a government check. When you get some hair on your chest and turn 21 I'll buy you a beer. The one manager Victoria should be fired and replaced by the ALL STAR who helped us time and time again at the customer service desk! Wish I would have gotten her name! read more

Bought a pack of flashlights at the Virginia Beach Blvd location (Not sure why it says I am in San Francisco) In VA Beach, VA that were given out as presents. Of the 8 only 4 worked. Kids had all traveled home when I found out. Went back to Home Depot with the remaining non-working flashlight and was told since I did not have the other flashlights nothing could be done. One person even said that "I could not expect them to warranty something they sold". Yeah... almost exact words. That irritated me more than the fact the flashlights did not work. FYI you are not supposed to drop them into your trash/landfill. The gentleman that received my bulbs joked about how kind it was for me to bring this gift just for him LOL. ABOVE & BEYOND! This is by far my favorite store and has been for close to 15 years. I feel there is always someone to help me and today was no exception. My husband and I brought in a bronze sink fixture that we couldn't figure out why it was leaking. We hoped to fix the problem rather than paying to replace. Armaund initially helped us but then Joshua came to take over. It was literally like doing surgery in the isle to figure out the problem. Joshua with his good eyes and steady hand (not to mention secret weapons in his apron pockets) spend a good 30 minutes helping us. Truly above and beyond. I have always received great customer service. This is why store #4614 has become my store of choice. I will admit when doing a kitchen renovation I went with a small company down the street rather than with HD. That kitchen store has since gone out of business so there is no follow up help. When I walk through the HD kitchen area I regret not using them! Over the years we have used this store for everything from garden projects to painting to bath and lighting. Good store overall! Friendly service, decent facilities and good organization. We usually come here for all our home improvement matters since it is in a good location. Also, we have started shopping at HD more because it has more honest customer reviews on their website. That allows us to make more informed decisions, which has been a tremendous help. To get 5 stars would require exceptional customer service and/or products. I don't expect to be "wowed" at HD and therefore will simply give a good 4 star rating unless something stands it as extraordinary. read more

I originally went THD for a few ideas and after sitting down with Matt from flooring and drawing out sketches of the area I ended up buying a bunch of new things and I'm excited about the new setup. I can't speak on how all this will look. After all, it was three dudes figuring out design stuff. Men practically suck at all things interior design-related. This review isn't really about Home Depot but the contractors that do their installations. I bought an appliance and paid to have it delivered and installed. Try 1 it was delivered but the people who delivered were not the installers. I called the Home Depot number they rescheduled the installation. Try 2 was called the day before with my four hour window no one showed no one called. I called the Home Depot number they tried the contractors - they had left for the weekend. Scheduled it for a third try. They final arrived - with a second appliance. I got it installed but other than wear a mask they didn't do any of the COVID mitigation strategies that are shown in the video on the web page. When I called customer "care" to discuss all of the problems the person was patronizing and dismissive then hung up on me. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. read more

Always like a kid in a candy store in hardware stores and this one didn't disappoint. Doing interior work in a soon to open store, I frequently come to this location to get various items. Selecting paint for floor and walls, the associate was quick and helpful in choosing and mixing the chosen color. Satisfied all my wood, screw, drywall, and mud needs. I placed a special online order for three blinds on June 5, when the blinds arrived two were missing parts, one didn't have any hardware to hang the blind. I called the store and they contacted the manufacture to ship the parts. After THREE weeks with no parts I called the 800 number and they gave me a tracking number, those parts arrived July 13 (shipping invoice showed they SHIPPED July 6) and guess what, the parts were missing parts. Called the 800 customer service AGAIN and the lady had parts shipped again. I verified our new address with her and it's July 23, no parts in the mail today. I called customer service again and they showed the parts arrived today, AT THE WRONG ADDRESS! How can a large corporation screw up something so simple? I spent over $1500.00 on blinds from Home Depot, I share my story with all my co-workers. You have to improve your customer service. read more

Can't really bash Home Depot with a bad review, because I do all of my tool/home here. I stopped in looking for a 14x18x1 furnace filter, cuz the flimsy ones in my apartment that they provide dont filter crap Well after walkig in I only found a12x18x1, which was is a little short. But they were all out of that size and one of the employees stressed that this location is smaller than the military hwy location. Needless to say I also checked at Lowes which was a JOKE. They didnt even have a filter with x18 in it. Walmart had an 18x18x1 which is better than the 12x18x1 that Home Depot had. Looks like I'll have to order online or stick with the Walmart size this time. read more
