We had a great stay at The Homestead Inn in Madison CT. We were warmly greeted at the door and taken to our absolutely beautiful rooms. The rooms were full of light and tastefully decorated. Each has it's own spacious bathroom, stocked with plenty of white fluffy towels and fresh-smelling toiletries. The common areas has a lot of quirky fun touches like vintage cameras, a wide selection of LPs for the record players that are in each room, and other fun features. The innkeeper is friendly and helpful, as is the owner of the establishment (and his sweet little dog!). Would definitely recommend this inn for people looking for a cozy weekend stay.

Having just returned for a special family gathering (with a birthday thrown in), my brother, sister-in-law, and sister from West Hartford and Simsbury were blown away. I should note both my visits were in the daytime. Besides the rustic beauty of the vineyards, the grounds are lovely and set a peaceful tone for the restaurant. The interior is beautiful and with plenty of warmth and natural light from the windows. The walls are adorned with artwork for sale but tastefully done, as was a handcrafted bench (which I bought!) that allowed me an opportunity to sit and soak in this surprise dining experience. Our server for both experiences was Garret and honestly, we are spoiled - polite, upbeat knowledgeable and accommodating - even when he was the main server he never ignored our table. Every food course over two visits were nothing less than fantastic - from flavor to presentation the food was perfectly prepared. The server in taking the order and the wonderful chefs were both very accommodating for a member of our party with dairy allergies. From the website and now two visits this is not a winery tour or exclusive wine tasting spot - this is a beautiful restaurant that makes (in the basement) and serves their own wines - even the red is made on property from grapes brought in from out-of-state. I will be going back frequently and cannot wait for the colder months, holidays and dinner by their fireplace!

Not too hot out so we were able to sit outdoors overlooking the lovely property. The staff is very friendly ans helpful. There is a private party in the back "outdoor" bar area that is set up beautifully.

Complementary water in our room and comfy robes. We had a balcony view of the sound that was breathtaking. Mathew at the front desk was welcoming upon arrival and took the time to get to know guests. He was always helpful when we had a question and took his time with us. Never made us feel like we were unimportant. The grounds were well maintained and kept up. Always saw staff maintaining the property. The property had a small private beach with overlook to rocky bluff. The hotel also has spa services for those who want to indulge in a facial or massage. On select Fridays the restaurant has a wine tasting and Al's hosts larger events. Lunch and dinner we sat outside on the covered patio with a beautiful view of the sound. Sydney was friendly and accommodating at dinner. The manager Anthony took good care of us at dinner for substitutions due to food intolerances. The food was excellent we had the short rib and steak frits with a beautifully paired Bordeaux. Lunch we had the crab cakes, house salad and smash burger. Our stay was just what we needed to relax and unwind. A definite revisit in the future.

Extremely peaceful and the staff is extremely tentative. The wharf, there isn't a single thing on the menu that isn't carefully curated.
