I was a guest at the Homestead October 16-19, and our stay was nothing short of perfection. The owner Ralph went out of his way to make us feel very welcome, and his staff, including Ray, Ellen, and Suzanne, catered to every request with a smile. Breakfast was perfect, with so many options, including vegetarian quiche, including yummy beverage options, and even gluten-free toast. The grounds were perfectly maintained and the indoor environment was as cozy as could be. The room amenities include a very Comfy bed, a towel, warmer, and a ! Pretty yard with 3 private seating areas in the front yard and a patio with a gas fire pit. The home is furnished in traditional style and enhanced with touches of whimsy touches.Spic and span clean! Our room was large, bright and comfortable. Everything was outstanding about our stay, especially the breakfast quiche, egg bites, and homemade peach scones. I've stayed at Homestead several times and keep returning because it is so special. Ralph, and all his innkeepers, go out of their way to make each stay perfection for each guest, to the point that individualized music is playing on the record player in each room. I have sat in the living room with friends and a glass of wine in front of the fire, spent hours in the chairs on the patio with family I'm visiting, and grabbed too many of the snacks that are always available. Hotels offer a place to stay and you go out and visit friends, but when you are at the Homestead, everyone comes to you because it is that welcoming. Not to mention the amazing breakfast. If I had to make a complaint, it is that I keep buying stuff after my visits, the latest being a towel warmer because, well, is there anything better? Trust me, it is that special. read more

We had a great stay at The Homestead Inn in Madison CT. We were warmly greeted at the door and taken to our absolutely beautiful rooms. The rooms were full of light and tastefully decorated. Each has it's own spacious bathroom, stocked with plenty of white fluffy towels and fresh-smelling toiletries. The common areas has a lot of quirky fun touches like vintage cameras, a wide selection of LPs for the record players that are in each room, and other fun features. The innkeeper is friendly and helpful, as is the owner of the establishment (and his sweet little dog!). Would definitely recommend this inn for people looking for a cozy weekend stay. read more

Wow, what a remarkable experience. From prior to check in to our departure. The amount of small details they touch on and get right, is amazing. They called us a couple of days before our stay to inquire what types of music we enjoyed. Upon arrival, we found a record player in our room with albums that we could change. We danced the nights away with our 4 year old daughter. This bed and breakfast literally had EVERYTHING we needed plus some. We enjoyed the local quiche and breakfast breads that were brought in each morning. They were always fully stocked with beverages, juices, local wines, cookies, granola bars, fresh popped popcorn, fruits, etc. We enjoyed the grounds of this beautiful home and the fully upgraded rooms/amenities. The fire pits were amazing and so relaxing. The shower was incredible. Im forcing my husband to put the same shower head in our shower at home! I would highly recommend this b&b. It was our first stay at one as a young couple and it truly exceeded our expectations. We will be back for sure to enjoy this beautiful escape and the surrounding area. read more

Just a touch more expensive than other properties, in order to ensure that only those who seek a thoughtful, luxury experience in a small hotel environment. From the vinyl record selection with record players in every room to the thoughtfulness of the coffee and tea options (literally, a corner of the dining room is a coffee & and tea bar, for caffeine-snobs, like me...) and no-expense-spared details like available weighted-blankets, upscale toiletries and multiple-bank of USB & 110V AC power strips, right next to the bed (where you'd want them, of course.) Best of all, the charming decoration (upscale antiques) ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was super-eager to make sure that (we) had everything that we could possible need or want. As I've stayed in many B&B's before, I would say this one is one-of-the-best that I've seen. Quite wasting time looking for something to compare The Homestead to. My wife and I stayed here for a week and also rented all of the available rooms for two days for a wedding. The house and grounds are impeccably cared for. The house is filled with interesting items and antiques. As great as the accommodations are, the staff is even better.
