If you want to help your child with a learning disability do better in school, don't go to these people as they are not trained to help children with learning disabilities. My reasosns are they try to use rote memorization techniques and standard teaching techniques to teach every child, which don't work with kids with learning disabilities. I was going to just let it go since they did offer me some accomodations to get my son's testing done and were trying to offer me a discount to start tutoring and I appreciated that but then Susie K. tried to shame me and make me out to be a bad parent that didn't care about my son's education. It started off bad and just never improved. They tried to have my son who has ADHD do too much in one sitting (an hour for a pretest without any breaks) so we had trouble even getting the pretesting done because my son was frustrated and in tears from too much pushing him to do the test! This showed me they had no idea about learning disabilities or IEP modifications so I stopped going to them and wasn't going to give them a bad review but then I got an insulting email from Susie K. I sent an email to request they stop emailing me since I had asked them to do this a few times already. In response, she tried to shame me as not caring about my child or education because I simply requested she no longer email me about their services. She has never once tried to find out why I no longer wanted to know about or use their tutoring services, she just sends an insulting email because I got tired of her not listening to my requests to not email me anymore. I had to threaten to contact the Better Business Bureau to get her to stop and in retaliation she sent a nasty email back that said that she didn't want to bother parents who didn't care about their children or education! Her insulting and unfounded accusation is why I am now writing this review! IAs a trained and successful teacher with 15 years experience teaching Social Studies and Elementary Science, I think I might know a thing or two about teaching and serving the public. Having taught that long, I know how to administer IEP accommodations, recognize signs of learning problems, and how to help kids do well as long as they know how to read the basics but I did not know how to teach my son how to overcome his learning disabilities to learn to read because I am not a reading teacher or Special Education teacher. I came to them with tears and a desire to help my son but didn't get the help he needed so I took another avenue and she doesn't like that. After the first disasterous testing session, I talked to some excellent Special Education teachers who told me the centers' approach was all wrong for his learing disabilities so I cancelled any tutoring they had scheduled, despite pressure from Susie K. in several calls for them to continue the test and tutoring, and never went back. From my experience with Susie K., all I can say is she is all about making money, not doing what helps the child.

So I moved my stars up slightly only because my children no longer attend there so I don't know what the environment is like there currently. I am still scarred from what I had to endure there for the few years my son did attend. Before, this school had raving reviews, but in the past few years- it has just been miserable. Many of the teachers here are pleasant but it's the administrative staff that I worry about. They do not seem engaged with their students nor truly care for their academic success. My child tended to have trouble in school and much of it had to do with his struggle with impulse. The teacher has been kind enough to "allow" an evaluation to take place but I have had so much push-back from the staff. I understand that it costs the school a great deal of money when doing an IEP, but it's for the benefit of the child! I just want to ensure that my child is getting the specialized instruction he needs in order to be confident in school. The year prior, he came home comfortable with the idea that he is just "not smart".That shouldn't ever be the case. My husband and I do our best to try and have him tutured at home, help him with reading, and occasionally see a specialist to assist with impulse control. Despite our efforts at home, my child still struggles at school. During my conference with the school however, I was informed by their assistant principle, Mrs. McNamee, that his issues were stemmed from the fact that he gets too much attention at home. What? Then they proceeded to still push back with getting my child any help until they FINALLY settled on having a 504 plan done. I want to give them the benefit of a doubt- but they have left me with the impression that that if your child has any type of disorder, language barrier, or disability- you're in for a world of grief here. Oh and heaven forbid you're a step parent. According to Mrs. McNamee, step parents dont have an opinion.

As a member of the PTA, I see teachers who go over and beyond for our kids. Parents, including me, are extremely engaged and volunteer countless hours. We are blessed that the administration allows our students the opportunity to participate in a wide range of after school activities that really enrich my kids. The staff and and administration genuinely live what they do and it truly shows. When your kids come home and all they can talk about is school you know you have them in a winning school! I swear that the principal must live there because she is there every single time I am in the school no matter what time of day! I really enjoy getting to talk to the parent liaison who always has time to listen when I need to talk! When my kids are challenged in such a warm, safe, and meaningful way they are on the path to becoming lifelong learners. This school is amazing and serves its widely diverse population well!

We checked it out in-person and immediately felt at home. The first year our 4 yr old went 2 days a week. Her letter and number recognition grew by leaps and bounds. Her faith deepened and she learned to pray from her heart. The second year our now 5 yr old went 3 days a week and our two yr old went 2 days a week. I am still amazed how much my 2 yr old learned (letters, colors, counting etc.). Best of all, the teachers truly care about their students and the parents. They are easy to talk with and treat your children as their own. It's beautiful to see the great bond that forms between your children and their teachers. That's when you know you've found the perfect place! We have had such a positive experience that anytime we get asked about preschool we are quick to rave about Greentree. My friend that goes to this school is telling me that my name is being brought up when he was getting in trouble. like he said that the people in charge are saying stuff about me behind my back how i must have logged into his account and said something just because it was improper English which is very rude and disrespectful especially because I don't even go to that school anymore. When I would hangout with my friend Because he has off campus (meaning he can leave the building when he's not in class) he can leave and come back and sometimes he is late and they don't care but when they know I'm hanging out with him he was 2 minutes late and they yelled at him and emailed his parents.
