My group arrived probably at the height of the event (Saturday - noonish) and there was a long line at every food vendor. The festival was much larger than expected and we were there for a good 3 hours. There is live music scattered around the venue and lots of samples from the vendors. You can probably go through the festival within an hour when the crowd is more manageable (very early or later in the day).

If you like art and architecture, you will likely enjoy visiting Opus 40. What is it? But walk slowly, observe how sight lines of the work draw you to the mountains in the distance and how shadows change the perspective. It's truly a masterpiece of outdoor art. Budget at least an hour to visit and wear comfortable shoes. Roads and parking: unpaved entrance and rather rough parking area. So drive your Range Rover and not your Ferrari to Opus 40 (although some of the country roads nearby provide incredible driving opportunities). Price: $12 on site for adults, $11 online with $1 service charge. Misc tips: (1) Buy tickets online. While the original place has clearly been chopped up a bit, as these things have happened over the years, to make multiple screens, the smaller main theater retains much of its original charm. The sound was among the best I've ever heard -- forget the mall theaters with their cookie cutter speaker systems, this place feels like the audio has actually been tuned to the space. Not too loud but utterly clear and encompassing. Throw in interesting programs and very, very reasonable concession prices on top of super friendly staff, even though the Orpheum is quite a haul for us, we are definitely returning, especially for the special festival programming. Now I want to buy some merch so I can spread the word.
