Wow! I saved this pop-up ice cream when I first heard about it. They make very unusual ice cream flavors!
Finally, we were in town while the popup was on in its third year. They are open only in the summer. It's actually by a designer and her shops are all on on street that's called The Village. When I went, she focused on pantry staples and turned them into interesting ice cream flavors! I absolutely love the Kikkoman soy sauce flavor! Ughh, I'm still dreaming about that flavor!
All the flavors are served in a paper cup that looks like the original containers! Too cute! Other flavors included Piccalilli, Penguins, Pesto, Malt Vinegar, Heinz Beans, Jaffa Cake, Maldron Salt, and more.
I absolutely loved my ice cream! Tip though, come early in the day, because we got there mid-day and two of the flavors were already sold out. It was fine as they weren't the flavors I was going to choose, but if you want, all the options, then go closer to opening time. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved very quickly. There's no seating. It's strictly scoop and go! They do give you a sample though which is awesome so you can try a quirky flavor and not have to hate your scoop if it's not for you. I thought I'd love pesto, because I love pesto, but that flavor wasn't for me.
I can't wait to go again next summer! read more
