Great place to go if you want a sweet treat! Lots of unique flavors that you don't really see elsewhere. Prices are decent and there are lots of toppings to choose from. Only downside was that the flavors fell a little flat. Chocolate tasted like vanilla with a hint of coco powder and the mint tasted like vanilla with a hint of mint flavoring and green food coloring. It was still good but was surprised by how bland it almost tasted. read more

*Cash Only! Open Memorial Day to End of September* This cute unpretentious shop was a charming highlight for us after a long day of hiking and leaf peepin. They make their own ice cream in house! And waffle cones! And there's a covered porch out front, because if you're not going to walk around with your ice cream for window shopping, you can always pull up a milk jug seat at a table made of encased sprinkles. We were able to sample a few flavors - generous spoonfuls, I might add - before settling on a Nana's Puddin bowl and Butterfinger in a cake cone. Those single scoops were not even close to being small! Some playful banter with the staff brought a genuine smile to my face. This ice cream shop is a must-stop for us whenever we visit Davis in the summer. They offer a great variety of unique and creamy flavors, and the staff are always friendly and happy to let you sample anything before you decide. We tried Mornin' Sunshine, Nana's Puddin', and Blackberry, each one was absolutely delicious in a waffle cone, of course. It's the perfect treat after a long day of hiking in Dolly Sods. They accept cards, but you get a discount if you pay with cash, which is a nice perk. This was a pretty nice experience. Im visiting Davis too so I'm not like a local or anything. I went up to the counter and was surprised to behold that yea, they accept cash only. But to paraphrase, I got the German Chocolate parfait based on recommendation from the server lady. And boy oh boy, was I not disappointed, to say the least. That's with the chocolate flavor, chocolate cake, caramel, and coconut, simply by the by. Just like, don't shoot the messenger, as they shout from atop the hills anyway. And then a lone pair in my coterie, they decided to try their hand at a parfait me thinks, the Black Forest. That's with the strawberry, chocolate cake, and vanilla - a dashing, killer combo at any rate, home boy. This has been a tourist news special. So freaking good! Cash only, walk up window. Best thing in the small town of Davis. Huge portion. I ordered the mint sliver with cone. They serve the cone upside down, so bowl ice cream and cone on top. Couldn't have been any better. There was an elderly lady who sat down next to me (chairs on the side and back of building), who had a huge sundae and looked quite happy. The ice cream here is the real deal. Creamy, smooth and extras added in evenly. We opted for cups and were really glad because the scoops are big and it would've melted all over us. While waiting, I noticed other customers who got sundaes with chocolate dip and more on soft serve. I'd call them gourmet sundaes and if I get the chance I'll have be of those too. No picture but trust me it was beautiful! read more

We just picked up ice cream from this place and both my boyfriend and I ended up with major headaches from the over powering of added sugar. The ice cream is not quality at all on top of that the rules that they can't serve you the cone but can touch a spoon then hand that to you is beyond me. I understand people are worried about Covid but use common sense when making up rules. In addition the girls behind the counter wanted to charge us for a spoon how the heck are you supposed to eat your ice cream! Not a fan and will not be returning read more

My husband and I were walking downtown after hiking and decided to hop in the ice cream line. They were cash only which was fine as we had some on hand. We decided to split the Tandy Cake Parfait as I knew from my research that it was large in size and enough for at least two people. The prices were reasonable for the size of the products. Layers of vanilla cake, creamy vanilla ice cream, peanut butter sauce and hard coated chocolate made for a delicious bite! We were unable to finish it but I stuck it in the freezer to finish the next day. I would have loved to try one of the hard ice cream flavors but time did not allow for us to go back. This deserves a 5 star! The small town of Davis has this one ice cream shop that would make you remember your stay in west virginia. They got quite a long list of flavors you can choose from and a long line of customers that couldn't wait to taste their ice cream. They have a bunch of topping choices you can add on your plain vanilla ice cream. But getting a vanilla ice cream in a cone is good enough to satisfy your ice cream craving. This is the only ice cream shop around Davis/Thomas. It appears they make some of their ice cream. We got two milkshakes and ice cream. Milkshakes were fun flavors like green apple and caramel. Great place to stop with kids and grown ups in the summer. read more

My husband and I stopped by after eating lunch in Davis because we both love ice cream! We're from Charleston and are big fans of Ellen's, but I was really surprised that this place had so many flavors and varieties! I had a scoop of what I believe was called blackberry swirl, and it was so creamy and fabulous. I could've eaten a gallon of it. My husband got a chocolate milkshake and thought it tasted good but was a little thin. Service was quick for such a busy day. We will definitely stop by again next time we're in the area! read more

This was some of the creamiest soft serve I have ever had. I had the butter pecan and it was delicious. I'd never had anything besides chocolate/vanilla/twist soft serve before so it was a treat. This is way better than dairy queen. The toppings look tasty too. Make sure to try it out if you're close by. read more

The building itself is pretty nondescript on the outside, with merely a simple 'Ice Cream' sign on the awning. But we drove by one day and saw a bunch of people coming out with big, delicious looking ice cream cones, and made a mental note to come back and check it out sometime during our stay nearby. As we walked in we were greeted with an amazing smell of baked goods, which instantly made us hungry, despite having just finished a big meal. The inside was warm and welcoming, with plenty of seating, and cute decor. We went in planning to get a small treat, and what we walked out with were 2 heaping swirls of magical goodness. My fiance got the German chocolate parfait, and raved about the caramel sauce - among the best he's ever had! I had the brownie sundae with cookie dough and peanut butter cups. It was amazing and perfect in every way! The sizes are about 3 times what we would get for the same price back home in the DC area. Neither of us could finish what we got, so we rushed back to our cabin to get them into the freezer before they melted. We're excited to have an awesome treat to look forward to the next couple of nights! read more

Passing by on the main drag of the town, it was pretty easy to miss this place, since it doesn't have much prominent signage other than "Ice Cream" etched at the top. But the inside was surprisingly cozy and comfortable, with all sorts of old country decorations, rocking chairs, and background music. The soft serves were great because of the options of flavor drizzle. Usually it's just vanilla and chocolate, and that's what they have here for the base, but you can choose from one of six or so delicious flavors to go with it. And while the small had plenty of ice cream to go around, the homemade sugar cone was a perfect finish. read more

This is a small ice cream shop. The soft serve ice cream is probably the best I've ever had. Toppings don't disappoint. The shop itself is very classy and the owner is a very nice guy. We just sat down and enjoyed our treats and waited about 30 minutes for the rain to slack off some. Finally made a dash for the car and wouldn't you know it - a mile down the road the rain stopped! I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it literally tasted just like it. The day we went the shop was closed which was a bummer but we still had a very good visit and would recommend grabbing coffee / food from this location. The service was great as we were greeted immediately and they helped with recommendation.
