This is a nice place with an old fashioned vibe. Excellent service and a nice selection of coffee and ice cream. I particularly enjoyed the vanilla soft serve. I've noticed a lot of places seem to water down their soft serve to the point it becomes flavorless but not here. A nice old fashioned ice cream stand, plus pretty cozy and quite here for sure. The girl behind counter was pretty nice and did not rush me when I was deciding on my order. Went do some leaf peeping and see the academy. The campus is nicely situated in upper Hudson Valley. We stopped by the shoppe for a bit of sugar. Let me tell you a story.... two best friends took over the local ice cream shop, and made it into this amazing hangout for local kids and adults alike.when you enter you're greeted by an awesome menu board and a viewing case of Ice cream. Jen is absolutely amazing! She's friendly and easy to talk to. The waffle cones are hand made, There's Tv, books, games, Wi-Fi, arcade games, and patio seating. There also slush puppies, and an espresso bar here!!! This is certainly a gem of a place, located right across the street from the west point museum. Serious Hygiene/Cleanliness Concerns Walked to the Ice Cream Shoppe May 23, 2021. The girl working was eating with her friends when we walked in. When she saw us, she stopped eating but rather than wash her hands, she simply licked her fingers clean one by one. I thought, "Surely, she'll wash her hands or put on gloves." - Nope! In fact, as we looked at the menu (and I decided whether or not to order anything on account of the employee's poor hygiene) the employee walked over to her food, ate more, and once again licked her hands clean without washing them. That was enough for me. That employee should be fired, all the gross finger/saliva infested ice cream tossed out, and the whole shop thoroughly cleaned! GROSS. read more

Came here while I was staying near West Point for the weekend. Not only was there a good sized variety of ice cream flavors, but the cup sizes were huge! I got 2 scoops (1 of mint chocolate chip, and 1 of coffee with chocolate chips) and they were both really great flavors. The workers scooped out some really big portions for everyone in the groups I was with. This size was perfect and it was only about $4 so what a great deal! The people who worked there were super nice and I would gladly come back if I am ever in the area. read more

Small Town ice-cream shop. Everything looks old in here but clean. They have games you can play. A water cooler. A jukebox. Lots of wall decor and good ice-cream! They even met you sample before buying. I had the bittersweet synphony, no typo. A coffee creation with chocolate. So yummy and the portions are huge! They sell slush puppies! Great. Small little ice cream shop. There was one nice lady who was working behind the counter and she was incredibly generous with the scoops she gave. I had peanut butter s'mores and the brownie sundae flavor. Both were super good and the scoops were HUGE (as when you buy your size it isn't filled based on scoops, it is stuffed as full as it can get!) I thought the amount of choices was great, the ice cream was delicious, the lady working behind the counter was really nice, and it was super cheap for what you get. If you're visiting West Point or live around here, I HIGHLY recommend getting your ice cream fix here. read more

I'm got a not super severe case of lactose intolerance but once I walked into this quaint little ice cream shoppe, I knew sacrifices had to made. I ended up with the bitter sweet symphony (coffee and mocha) and cannoli flavored ice cream in a waffle cone. The 10 minutes that I enjoyed the dessert was so worthwhile! Came here after hiking the Black Rock Forest Trail... it was a lovely way to end the trip. VERY generous scoops of tasty icecream. Many options of icecream and Friendly staff. WIFI. Trrrific friendly service, neat vibe, good interesting flavors of Perry's Ice Cream, and absolutely huge portions at very reasonable prices. The single scoop is nearly a pint, and the kids scoop is like a double scoop at B-R. Delicious. Like most businesses close to West Point, they also honor the service of our veterans and their families. Big plus. I have eaten gelato in Italy, shave ice on Oahu's north shore, and at chain and local ice cream shops all over. This place was memorable. We went three times during our week there. If I could give me than a 5 I would. The portions are huge! We go here everytime we are in the area. The customer service was not that hot the last time we were there which is unfortunate because every other time it has been great.
