Any guess what.. I ordered expresso chip as a flavor and it was not even an expresso chip. It was mint chip!!! So they messed up in making the entire batch with the wrong ingredient. Wow is the only thing I can say! We were staying in Peekskill but my boyfriend has been working at the schools right around the corner from this place. 2 days ago New Absolutely Terrible Experience - Completely Overrated and Unprofessional I genuinely don't understand how this place is considered a "town gem." My experience here was frustrating from start to finish, and honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values decent service or basic quality control. First of all, they messed up my order by giving me the wrong cone. Instead of fixing it properly like any normal ice cream shop would do, they literally dug out the scoop of ice cream and plopped it onto a different cone. No apology, no care -- just sloppy and gross. I'm sorry, but if you mess up the order, the bare minimum is to remake it, not Frankenstein it together like some afterthought. As if that wasn't bad enough, the cone for my second order was broken. When I politely pointed it out and asked if it could be swapped, I was met with a completely ridiculous response -- one of the girls working there said, "All the cones are like that," as if that makes it okay? And instead of helping, she and the cashier started laughing at us. I wish I was exaggerating, but nope -- they actually stood there laughing. The level of rudeness and unprofessionalism was honestly shocking. If this is how they treat paying customers, I'm not sure how they're still in business. And let's talk about the ice cream: bland, forgettable, and nowhere near the "best in town" that people keep raving about. I've had better from a supermarket tub. Definitely not worth the hype or the attitude that comes with it. Save yourself the disappointment and go literally anywhere else. They have the absolute best ice cream ever. I have tried a few flavors and loved them all. Their vanilla is MUCH better than a certain brand that shall remain nameless. It is to die for. The "hot chocolate" is a dark chocolate ice cream with a kick...right up my alley. The spiciness that sneaks up after the lovely sweet chocolate is just right. Flavor-wise, the brownie batter flavor paled in comparison and was a vanilla ice cream base. Still very good, though! Lose a star for the minuscule amounts they tip your treat with. I had to dig around to find the toppings. In my case, salted caramel... Where was it? And hot fudge. Less than 2 tablespoons of "sauces" for the entire sundae. The blue pig does have longevity: it's been there since the days that I lived in Croton-on-Hudson end the owners managed to keep up the cute façade. I tried the banana butterfinger ice cream and WOW. Definitely one of the top two banana ice creams I've ever had (this is real banana, not fake banana flavor) and the ratio of butterfinger pieces was perfect. Warning: flavors sell out so get there earlier in the day to ensure you get your pick! This happened to me and the staff was king enough to add a little chocolate ice cream on top to round out a full scoop. The flavor menu does indicate which ones contains gluten. They also had a homemade gluten free ice cream sandwich available and GF ice cream cones. We went to visit the croton gorge in Westchester NY and on our way back home visited a cream shop nearby. It was very nice, quaint and small town vibes. It's homemade as advertised so we each got different flavors. I enjoyed mine, but it melts really fast so got a cup to hold the cream together m. There are some chairs and tables to enjoy the cream which can fill up quickly, luckily we secured a spot. We had to order and then wait a few minutes for it to be ready to serve. And let me tell you, I drove out of the way to get this ice cream based on other reviewers and I was not disappointed. My family of 7 had various flavors which were all eaten up happily. It took a bit of time to get our order because of the line and because only 1 teen was manning the counter and register. We sat inside where they have a few seats by the window and a small table with chairs. We took up almost the entire indoor seating area, but they also have seating outdoors. Several locals came in while we were eating to pick up pre-packed pints so you know that it's a favorite. It's located near other cute shops like the coffee place around the corner. I like those couple of streets. Parking can be difficult but they have a lot around the corner too. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely come back for a scoop! read more
