THE most delicious donut hole EVER!! (Also Amish made... mine was blueberry)

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary (2/10-2/12) with plans for a longer trip once Spring arrives. Our hosts (Mike & Kyra) were absolutely the kindest, most down to earth B&B hosts we have had in all our experiences at B&B Inns. They went above and beyond our expectations in making us feel at home... and their Valentine's brunch on 2/11 was both delicious and memorable. We started our stay in their 'Palladian' suite but after climbing the stairs to this spacious 3rd floor suite we realized we should have chosen a suite with less steps - and on our second morning they graciously helped us settle into their 'Churchtown' suite on the 2nd floor of their beautiful Inn. The location was excellent... close enough to interesting shopping (check out Urban Southern located just a hop and skip away) and dining (Shady Maple Smorgasbord is just a few miles away). Also close enough for a drive to Strasburg (antique shops and the Fireside Inn were our favorites), as well as a great deal on an Amish made quilt in Intercourse at Nancy's Corner'. Anyway- highly recommended Inn... you'll love their accommodations, their food, and their welcoming and warm hosting! P.S. We were pleasantly surprised to have an Amish family (Dad, Mom, their 4 youngest kids and dog) staying at the Inn our second night... we enjoyed lovely conversations in the evening and at breakfast... and they amused us when they told us they had come so they could watch the Super Bowl game! Lol P.S.S. They obviously belong to a very 'open' division of Old Order Amish to allow this- and yes, they also said they were fine with my video and photos of their family. :-)

    The front of the Inn...beautiful!

Where to begin?...We found this gem driving back a month prior after revisiting a B&B in another part of PA where we had gone for over 25 years. Well, this place run by Laurie and her daughter Kendall is awe inspiring. The moment you walk in you're family. Really, no cliche - you're really family. The little things make the difference - the mini fridge stocked with beverages, snacks in the room, Wi-Fi, flat screen tv etc...It's all there. This had to be our single most enjoyable time at a B&B. Oh, the 3 course breakfast and the fresh coffee - outstanding. We will be back!!!

Absolutely love this place. I stayed in the linden room back in July, the room was clean and cozy, also had a cute fireplace and comfortable whirlpool tub. Very romantic feel. The 3 course breakfast was delicious. Fresh home cooked meals. When i returned home I was disappointed to to open an oj juice carton, thats how I spoiled i was about the fresh food experience. The dining area has individual sitting tables so you don't have to sit next to strangers. Norm and Sue were super friendly and helpful, providing maps to the markets, and attractions. I will definitely go again, hopefully very soon before the winter comes.

I truly cannot express my gratitude to the Churchtown Inn staff for the experience I went through…read morewith them. I had originally booked a 2-night stay with them for my parents as a combined Mothers Day gift/Dad's birthday gift (around May/June). My father was sick with cancer at the time, and between hospital visits and treatments, my parents seriously needed a little getaway. However, due to my dad's illness, it was often very difficult to set dates for them -- every day can bring something new and unexpected. I had to call maybe 4 times to reschedule the stay -- each time, the staff being so incredibly empathetic and kind. There was never even an ounce of frustration from them, each time telling me 'not to worry' and checking in on my Dad. There were calls I had to make in which, after confirming the dates and my name, they would immediately ask how my Dad is doing and wishing my family well. I couldn't believe they remembered who we were, and had it in their hearts to ask about him! Well -- we fell on some very difficult times and lost my father in August. We had most recently moved their reservation to September, so we very quickly had to reassess. My family decided to gift the 2-night stay to some incredibly supportive friends of ours, but when I called and spoke with the staff -- they could immediately tell something was wrong, and once again hit me with the utmost empathy, kindness, and patience. They immediately offered to issue a full refund, but instead, I asked them to just change the names on the reservation and we gifted it to some friends. I truly couldn't wait for my friends to visit and tell me all about their stay. They had nothing but wonderful things to say! They told me that the staff was so generous and kind, the room was stunning, and the local hiking trails were absolutely beautiful and worth even just a day trip from where we live in NJ. They enjoyed everything about their stay! And they said the food was just divine! They said it's definitely a place they would return to, and I cannot wait to pay a visit myself and see all the things Churchtown has to offer in person! I can confidently say that based on my experiences with the staff just over the phone, this is a wonderful establishment who is deserving of all the success. Churchtown is #1 on my list i'd like to actually experience in person, and I surely cannot wait to do so!!!!

Our hosts Chris and Jim are so kind and thoughtful, and Chris is an amazing chef! She even gave me the printed recipe for her scones. Breakfasts were just heavenly. Five courses and totally different each time, made us feel like royalty. They were also so helpful about finding us dog-friendly places to go with our pooch. Lodgings are clean and quiet. I recommend Chris and Jim to everyone I know! I thank them for making this a great vacation!

I did attempt to make a reservations in sept for a christmas stay...I waited several weeks for any kind of communication from them, and never received any confirmation or info of any kind (yes, checked spam many times, plus i keep every email or lack thereof for one year, so also checked that many times!!)...That being the case i assumed reservation had not been successful and decided to make other plans. I remember thinking at the time that i wished they had let me know if they couldn;t accommodate my reservation, rather then just "ignoring" it. But I didn't give it another thought until they finally called xmas eve, the first night of my "alleged stay", and the full charges for my stay turned up on my credit card...(Merry christmas to them, for me not so much!) Did my best to communicate what had happened, and offered to show all evidence to substantiate my claim, offered to compromise, all to no avail...there stance was that they had communicated on several occasions and i was clearly a liar for saying otherwise.. Also no offer on their part to show evidence of their messages to me. What exactly would motivate me to make reservations and maliciously ignore them , i have no idea...But Jan and Bruce, hope you enjoyed the $60 welcome basket you sold me, but karma's a bitch, and i can't wait til it bites you in the ass! Moral of the story, as long as all goes smoothly you can count on your hosts being "welcoming and delightful", but should you have any issues, i'm gonna guess you will wish you had stayed elsewhere...
