Spending a week exploring Hershey and the surrounding areas has been on the list of want to see for a very long time and recently we had the opportunity to do just that. We had so much fun visiting with Samantha, she is the perfect GM, hostess, breakfast chef and baker. Her bubbly and friendly personality made our stay extra special. We were in the Napoleon Room, which is very private with a private staircase leading up off the kitchen. The room was huge, immaculately clean and so very comfortable. The bathroom was large with plenty of room to get ready in the mornings. The large and tall windows brought so much light into the room and having a mini fridge is a nice touch to keep waters cold. The Inn is filled with antiques, is warm, cozy and extremely welcoming to her guests. The basement has a nice pool table and a beautiful room with a long dining table, perfect for a small wedding reception or reception dinner. The grounds are beautiful and it is the perfect spot to stay for a few days or longer to explore the Hershey area. We felt right at home. Our breakfasts included, eggs benedict, scrumptious frittata and quiche along with yogurt, fruit and muffins with juice. There are fresh baked cookies and muffins with coffee and tea in the breakfast room all day for your snacking pleasure. There is plenty of parking, even a charging station for your electric vehicle. The Inn is centrally located to Hershey and the surrounding areas. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners one afternoon and they are lovely people who truly care about making the Inn comfortable and beautiful for their guests. We had the opportunity to see the other suites when guests were not checked into the rooms, each one is gorgeous with antiques, you can't go wrong with any room in the Inn. Raquel and Juan are what make this beautiful Victorian House a place to remember. Rooms are exceptionally beautiful, comfortable and most important... Clean! We had our breakfast (cooked exactly as we wanted) in the Sun room and chatted with fellow guests from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. When done with breakfast, Raquel and Juan joined us in the sun room where we chatted about all sorts of things. I couldn't have felt more at home anywhere else. I took a trip to…read morePennsylvania Dutch country and found this place due to its awesome reviews, and now, after having stayed there for three nights, I see why everyone has been so glowing. Here are a few of the reasons that I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Manheim Manor: -Todd & Lorene: These two are truly some of the most gracious hosts you could ask for. In addition to just genuinely being nice and thoughtful people, they are also full of history about the home, the area around Lancaster, and more. When more guests were coming in the other nights and parking was getting tight, Todd called me to let me know a special place I could park in the back of the house. They are engaging conversationalists and make it a pleasure to stay here. I had mentioned to them that I was a cyclist and hoped to find some nearby biked trails, so Lorene printed out trail maps for me that I ended up using the next day to go on a ride. -The room: I stayed in the Peaches & Cream room, which has a great screened-in patio that made for a wonderful place to sit outside and read in the evenings. This was really one of the selling points for me as I wanted to stay somewhere where I had some private outdoor space, and this fit the bill. The rooms at the Manor aren't huge, but that was totally fine as I didn't have that many things with me anyway. The bed was quite comfortable as well, and despite the traditional nature of the home, they also had a Roku for streaming, which I ended up using one evening for Hulu. -The house and history: Built in the late 19thcentury, Manheim Manor is an exercise in historical exploration, in the best way. There is a downstairs library with a great collection of books ranging from Shakespeare to mystery books that I read as a kid (Nancy Drew, anyone?). There's an upstairs library of VCR tapes that brought back memories from just looking at the covers. Lorene took me on a tour of the house and showed me a variety of interesting historical points in its various rooms. The property also features a great outdoor seating area in the backyard. -The food: This is really a high point! In addition to being an innkeeper, apparently a great handyman, and many other things, Todd is also a refined chef and makes culinary creations that wow people every day. From the blueberry pancakes to the orange scones to the broccoli and cheese quiche...wow! Having been very fortunate to have visited many a highly regarded restaurant across the world, I can easily say that Todd's breakfast rivals some of the best morning means I've had in Paris, Tokyo, and beyond. There is also a great collection of tea and many other things that make breakfast at Manheim Manor the best part of waking up. Now for the bad...I don't have anything to say. I always try to have one point that's not overly positive so that my reviews seem more "real," but I honestly can't think of anything that isn't glowing to say about my stay. Lorene and Todd are wonderful, and all the other guests I met during my stay were friendly and neighborly as well. I have no doubt that upon my next visit to the area, I'll stay here again.

We started off each morning with coffee set up on the sideboard in the dining room which you could enjoy in the parlor. Breakfast was at 8:30 at a beautifully appointed table. Some type off muffin or coffee cake Cheryl had baked, fresh seasonal fruit cup, a delicious breakfast entree, a breakfast meat, orange juice and coffee or tea. The breakfast was luscious and filling. The grounds were well groomed and the 5 rooms were so nicely decorated with four poster beds with canopies. They were cozy with private baths. There was a sitting room at ground level with a flat screen tv. It was great and deserves a repeat visit ! Our first B & B experience, it will be hard to beat! Very pleased!

While we waited there were some chairs facing a small pond which we eagerly used. Janae was as prompt as promised and took us inside to check us in and show us to our room. We were given the key to our room and code to the door to the house. Janae was absolutely wonderful. Friendly and helpful. Our room was well appointed, everything was nice. Odd though no television in our room ( no problem ) there was a radio though. Later we met David the owners son, he was pleasant and helpful too, giving us some ideas where we go for dinner. The house built in 1814 was wonderful.. Every time we turned around there was something new to spark our interest, the little details make all the difference. Our room was comfortable and the whole house was pristine. You can tell when someone really cares. I guess the owners were away, since we didn't get a chance to meet them. But Janae was great, she was there to serve breakfast, and we ate with another couple that came in that Friday night as well. Check out is a 10:00 and we did run a little late, but nothing was ever said about that. Were we comfortable? yes, were we happy we came? yes, would we come back? DEFINITELY. We come to the Lancaster several times a year, and we can see this becoming a place we would frequent again. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

One Hope Winery was there to do a tasting and the finger foods, pizza and milkshakes were delicious! Stayed the night in the Victorian Suite, and the bed was so comfy and the room cozy with a feel of the past! Breakfast was delicious with more historical information shared by one of the owners! But the best was the Mystery Dinner later that day! An event where everyone showed up in character and you played a part all the way to the end! So much laughter! So much fun! The food was again delicious and the desert cakes are still on my mind! I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast! Daphne, Paul and Sherry were fantastic hosts! She added central heat and air around three years ago. The B&B was built in 1909 and was used as a single family home until converted. The rooms and common areas still reflect the ambience of a family home. In the bathroom, everything works as it should. The beds are comfortable. Beth has improved her cooking and the breakfasts are now excellent. She will surprise you with some of her creations. If there is a downside, it's the noise coming from the street and the schools next door. However, that will be an issue in most places in Lancaster County. Overall, this is a great place to stay.
