Four and a half stars if I could give half stars. We stayed one night here, arriving around 5pm…read more The inn keepers (presumably one of the owner's wife and her daughter) were tidying up in the yard and greeted us graciously. They confirmed our reservation, showed us the tea/coffee counter and mini fridge (which we were free to take bottled water from), and asked us if we had any food issues for them to consider for breakfast the next morning. They then walked us up to our room - the Empire Room. The bedroom and its en suite bathroom were immaculately clean. There were a couple small spots with the wallpaper that will hopefully be fixed during the next maintenance pass, but these were very minor. The room sleeps two in a queen bed and has a balcony which was nice to sit on. The room has a modern thermostat and was very cool and comfortable on what might have been one of the most humid and hottest days of the year. Downstairs in the common area, there is ample comfortable seating to lounge around on, as well as an electric keyboard. I will note that upon entering the property, there was the distinct smell of turmeric. In some reviews on other online platforms, this has been mentioned. It didn't bother me, but if you're sensitive to it, you should be aware. The bed was comfortable and I slept soundly. However, the inn faces a fairly busy two-lane one-way street and the road noise was noticeable during the day. It's no fault of the property, but it seems there are a lot of locals who drive by with modified exhaust systems and that can spoil the otherwise serene setting. Breakfast was served at 8:30am. There were pitchers of water and orange juice, and carafes of hot coffee and hot water for tea. Breakfast was a glass cup of yogurt with a berry compote, followed by a plate of two strips of thick bacon and two sliced biscuits filled with a sausage gravy. The gravy appeared to have turmeric in it and was quite tasty. My wife requested a non-meat option the night before and got a vegetable omelet and an oatmeal pancake topped with strawberries, which she said was very good. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay here. The house is old (late 1800s), but our room was extremely clean and well-appointed.

You are locked out of the so called area to get coffee. once you know how bad it is you are grateful you can't get in. we waited 20 minutes in the pouring rain just to get someone to answer the door. With a quite indifferent attitude we were shown to our room. No coffee service. No Kleenex. No cups of any kind. But Qtips in a dish in the bathroom. Who would use Qtips that had laying out. if your going pack a picnic basket. The breakfast was a stone cold piece of an egg mixer that has baked in a cookie tray and then distributed. The fancy breakfast was the same slab of cold eggs with biscuits (Not home made), with cold sausage gravy. It was horrid. $200.00 a night. I think not. Don't walk RUN!!!!!

We stayed int he Emma Belle Room f r the long weekend and it was very relaxing. We had our privacy with the option to mingle in common areas of the bed and breakfast. The room was very clean with great amenities. Also, homemade breakfast is made for you in the main dining room. We had fun walking the grounds and seeing the old amusement park areas. We stayed in the Courtney Room which was on the second floor. It was a small room but it was perfect for us! It was right off a shared living room but lucky for us, no one was in that room! The B&B was within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown. We ended up walking to dinner and then did a mini-pub crawl! When we arrived "home" later in the evening, there were some fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies waiting for us! We really enjoyed them and even took some up to the room for later! The next morning we woke to find coffee in the living room at 7am. The coffee from Whiff Roasters was to die for! Breakfast was served later in the dining room and it was delicious! Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend the Lititz House Bed & Breakfast!!

There's nothing that annoys me more than B&B operators who feel they have to be so nice and helpful that they smother you. The Lititz House wasn't like this at all. John and Heidi, the owners, made us feel like we were visiting friends, but were very professional and competent at the same time. Not an easy trick to pull off. The rooms were cozy, with bathrooms for all. Keeping in mind this is a 100 year old house, the retrofitting is mostly seamless. A couple of the bathrooms were on the small side, but no smaller than your own house. Breakfast was excellent, and the coffee and juices are a standout. (I know that sounds silly, but they were fantastic)
