Don't waste your time. My Fiancé and I scheduled a tour for this venue and confirmed the time and date. We drove all the way out to Warrenton for our scheduled tour (about an hour drive each way) and no one showed up. The lights were off, doors were locked, and not a car in sight. We called several times and left a few voicemails and received no response. We waited about 20 minutes before calling it a day and heading to the brewery across the street. I still have not heard back from them. I am shocked at how unprofessional this is, and angry that we wasted so much time. I strongly recommend that you skip this one and tour other venues. read more

What a great venue for a wedding! First, I'd like to say that Dawn and Scott were incredibly kind and helpful. We had so many questions that we asked over the last few months leading up to our wedding, but Dawn was always quick to respond and give us thorough answers and options. She really made the whole process of getting everything together a lot less stressful for us and for that we're grateful. For our menu we had Chicken Pesto with Angel Hair pasta, Baked Ziti, Sweet Italian sausage with peppers and onions, Ceasar salad, rolls, and Charcuterie with Bruschetta. Scott and the staff did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. We took photos outside by the tree in the back, which came out wonderfully. The ceremony and dinner took place under the tent which was very nice when lit up at night and the outdoor fireplaces were a great spot to sit down with friends and family. Our guests also really enjoyed roaming and admiring the mansion. An all around wonderful experience! Thank you Dawn, Scott and staff. I recommend this venue to anyone. read more

The Inn at Vint Hill is amazing!! Dawn is knowledgeable and very supportive. The staff is great. The food was delicious. We had a surprise Mariachi band in the middle of our reception and the entire staff was flexible and accepting with their unplanned arrival. I couldn't imagine a better venue with better people. We first booked the Inn at Vint Hill in 2019 for our wedding in May 2020... we then postponed not once, but TWICE due to COVID. After finally having our wedding in early May 2022, we have to take a moment to rave about Dawn & the lovely Inn. Dawn has the patience of a saint and was flexible, attentive, and on top of it every step of the way. She always answered our questions via phone or email within 72 hours. She allowed us to drop off all of our decorations the night before the wedding so it was a stress-free morning the day of. The food was excellent. Even in pouring rain, the staff was outside keeping a fire lit for S'mores! They held umbrellas for guests as we moved from the Inn to the Tent. One of the main reasons we chose this Inn was because of the tree in the backyard - but our ceremony ended up being inside due to weather - which wasn't an issue because every inch of that place is beautiful. Already wishing we could live the day over and over again and can't recommend highly enough! read more

If your heart's desire is to have a fairy tale wedding and you are looking for just the right venue, look no further than The Inn at Vint Hill. As a historical manor home, The Inn at Vint Hill exudes a warm southern charm and understated elegance. On March 7 - 8, 2014 my daughter celebrated her rehearsal dinner and wedding at the Inn. It was absolutely beautiful! The owner, Dawn Donaldson, is very helpful and accommodating. She was willing to let us come to the site both before and after we decided to book the Inn. She also provided some very helpful tips for our wedding planning. One of my top requirements for selecting the venue was the food. Not only did it need to taste great but there also needed to be plenty of it. I have been to expensive weddings where if you were at the end of the line, you may not get much to eat. Our guests raved about the food we had at Vint Hill. We chose prime rib of beef and champagne chicken for our entrees. The chicken was excellent the prime rib was out of this world! There was plenty of food and the left overs were packaged and sent home with the wedding party families to enjoy again another day. I cannot say enough about how truly special my daughter's wedding turned out at The Inn. The setting and warmth that the Inn provides along with an abundance of space for getting ready and the beauty of the site all contributed to make our event everything we wanted it to be. I fell in love with the Inn the first time we visited! There is an archway inside and I knew I wanted to be married under it. The house and yard are gorgeous and there were plenty of places for some great photos. My favorite spots were by the fountain up front and the mulberry tree in the back. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious and full of natural light. Jim and Dawn took great care of us while we made preparations for our wedding here: they answered every question that we sent their way, whether it was via email or phone call; they helped us shape our dinner menu and were extremely accommodating to the myriad food allergies that some of our guests have; they had everything set up by the time I got there the day of the wedding and everything was exactly how we wanted it. Weddings are stressful and exhausting events, but the staff expertly took care of everything that we needed. They are beyond reasonably priced and you get the venue to yourself for the day. They made sure we had whatever alcoholic drinks we wanted (for example, we wanted Anchor Steam, which is hard to find out here, and they stocked up just for us!) and even served us some appetizers while we got ready. The location is a little out of the way, but not so far that we couldn't do store runs for last-minute gear that we needed. This place was so amazing and I really wish we had more reasons to rent out a venue because I would definitely keep coming back here. read more

Been here a few times to photograph weddings. The property is beautiful and the building is unique and awesome! However, the surrounding properties are full of barbed wire fences, dumpsters, office buildings, and poorly managed roads/ditches. That's not their fault though. It's a diamond in the rough! The service was amazing except for a particular flamboyant bartender. I've heard nothing but complaints about him and my experience with him is no better. He has the angst of a 14 year old girl and the attitude of one too. Serving you is a chore and if you come up for a refill too soon he has no problem telling you to take a break. I guess this could save the venue a little money, but an open bar is an open bar. He seems miserable and not as happy as I would like a bartender to be. The food is great! Whoever they use to cook and cater is awesome and has great options. The sunroom/porch is awesome! I think it's called a "cigar room" but it's more of a sunroom to me. It has nice lounge chairs and a great view of the property's "better side." read more

I was a guest for a wedding here this weekend. When the bridesmaid walked down the aisle she fell because the wood flooring was in desperate need of repair. When we entered the foyer, the smell of raw sewage permeated the space. It was nauseating as difficult to breathe. read more

Wow where to begin. I have so many things to say about this place it's almost overwhelming. My wife and I had begun looking at venues at the beginning of the Covid scares- late February and early March. During this time we got very close to signing with a barn in Middleburg not too far from the Inn. I'm really glad it fell through as I've heard a horror story from another couple who did have their wedding there during this time. All the same, the Inn from the beginning provided a completely different customer experience. The owners Dawn and Scott both met us during our initial visit and made it abundantly clear that they do business professionally. They are flexible with regards to the details on the contract, the are excellent communicators, and the will work proactively with us to make sure everything goes smoothly. Come the big day, they delivered above and beyond expectations in every category. Not only did they accommodate our desires regarding spacing for COVID, our custom menu, and our changes in anticipated guest count as well as communicating exceptionally well every step of the way- making sure we understood the exact way the day would go and how they had our backs should things go away. But they also took care of the little details and patiently put us to ease when the stresses and pressures of day came around and we started to freak out, delivered the best meals any of us had ever had, acted as the day of planner to coordinate the DJ and many other things, and really just over all made sure that we had the best wedding reception and best party any of us could've hoped for in normal times, not to mention during Covid craziness. We cannot even begin to express the extent of our gratitude for how Dawn and Scott made this day as special and seamless as they did. They have our eternal gratitude. read more

Not too shabby. After a quick history lesson on Vint Hint (huge WWII buff here) and attending a recent wedding here I can say I am surprised at how well this worked as a wedding venue. The historic building gave a lot of charm and life to the party. The back patio which was shaded and perfectly framed by a large oak tree was designed for dancing and provided shelter during the toast during a light drizzle of rain. The food which was prepared on site as well was delicious. Proved to be much better than other more expensive venues I've been too. All in all if you're a bride on a budget this sweet little spot would make a venue for a wedding for under 5k all inclusive. The staff was friendly and accommodating as well. read more

The Inn at Vint Hill was definitely the best place for my husband and I to get married. Not only was the staff welcoming and very accommodating, but the house is just so beautiful on the inside. When we first decided to have our event there, we knew that there was going to be some kind of tent in the back lawn, but we didn't know just how gorgeous it was going to look! I went to talk with Dawn about a few last minute decisions and was blown away by the look of the tent, that I had to incorporate it into the wedding. We had our ceremony in the tent, our cocktail hour and dinner inside and dancing and cake back outside in the tent. We had met with Dawn, Jim, Robbie and Scott at some point in our planning and they helped make all of our decisions from what type of linens we should use to how we could set up our space. They were so helpful, that they let us bring our wedding cake the day before (even though they had a wedding going on that day) because the bakery we were using was not going to be opened on the day of our wedding. We had gone to an open house to check out he place and sample the food and the food that they made was just amazing. I got so many compliments on the food that was served. I had some people ask if they could take some of it home. My family still talks about the caramelized brie and fruit platter that we had. All in all, the food and the staff are absolutely fabulous. The staff is very easy to work with and are very friendly. The Inn is gorgeous and all the new projects are turning out great! read more

The pictures on their website are very well shot, and are therefore a bit misleading. If you go by the website, the inn sits on a piece of grassy land surrounded by fields of grass. The photographs give the impression of seclusion and an old time building that is hidden away from modern society. A drive through the area will tell a completely different story. There are modern day office buildings on the surrounding plots of land that are visible from the inn, which is located right off of the main drag through Vint Hill. The inn, however, is beautiful. It is quaint, with creaky floor boards, narrow stairways, and large open windows. For the most part, it has been kept in such a manner so as to still give the vibe of a civil war era building. Parts of the inn do appear a bit run down and unkempt. The balcony's boards were popping out of place and some had the appearance of rot. The vent in the bathroom leads directly outside, you could see daylight and feel gusts of wind coming in through the slats. It is my understanding that the owners live on the top floor and rent out the lower portions of the building and grounds for the venues such as weddings. Personal effects were left out in some cases, particularly in the bathroom. In winter the grounds are not much to look at as they lack color and vibrancy. The fields behind the inn are yellowed due to the weather. Although the vegetation is flat, life is not lacking. Stray cats roam the fields, and field mice make their way into the inn (up to the second floor). During my visit, maintenance was being performed on the main entryway. Although my party was there for an event, maintenance did not halt, but rather continued to work, making it difficult at times to hold conversation. It was unfortunate, because the noise of the drills and hammering was audible through closed doors. I wonder if they would have continued maintenance work regardless of what event was being held. The staff was incredibly friendly and happy to be of help. They were never too far from reach, and were happy to talk about the inn and its history. The food prepared was a nice selection with something that everyone could eat and enjoy. It was not anything special or fancy, but rather family type meals with a bit of flair for the presentation. They did not skimp on serving sizes, or quality of ingredients, and the refrigerator was kept stocked with juice, water, and sodas. I would love to come by this place again during the spring or summer time when the grass is green and hopefully flowers abound. read more

So the Inn is a very nice place for an event but it still needs a lot of work. Our event was held in July 2015 with the wedding on the side lawn and the reception under the big tent with the wood panel flooring. One thing buyers need to be aware of is when you place your full cost reservation it is not reimbursable. Nor is it all inclusive of everything you will need to pay for including staff needed to tend the bar, Set up and tear down, wait staff and Of course food and alcohol, cake, DJ and other expected necessities. Do your homework up front and have an idea of how many people will attend so you can accurately budget because if you end up being over budget and need to relocate the event you have lost $3500 to $5000 with no recourse. Also, the upstairs, where the groom dresses atrium and outdoor porch are in dire need of major repairs. I would also recommend taking a personal seat count when your guests arrive and consider assigned seating for dinner. They only put enough seats out for the number of expected guests. If there are voids at a table they get pissy and accuse you of having more than the expected number of guests. That said, for the view and price it's better than any number of options in and around Warrenton. read more

I wish there were more stars because they deserve so much more than just 5! I had my wedding at The Inn and I couldn't be happier! We celebrated our ceremony and reception inside the AMAZING new tent they have and guests could not stop raving about how beautiful it was! Dawn, Scott, Jim, Robbie, Hilda, and the rest of the staff are the kindest, most helpful people we've met! They made sure our day went off without a hitch!! And the food is incredible!!! Guests kept asking if they could take home the leftovers from the buffet because it was so good!!! Dawn, Scott, and Jim were so helpful during our planning! They calmed my nerves and reassured me that they had everything under control, and they absolutely did!! Robbie was our bartender and people were amazed how fast he cut the line down (we had a LOT of drinkers)! He would even pull me to the side and talk with me when I just needed to relax and get away from it all :) The venue itself is also incredible! If your looking for something unique that is unlike any wedding venue you've seen, you have to check this place out!! I guarantee your guests will be blown away!!! read more

Very unwelcoming staff preferably "Dawn". My fiancé scheduled a tour for today April 3,2018 at 1:30pm. But we were running behind, we were driving almost 2 hours away and ran into traffic and had to make stops along the way. We called to inform the staff and to ensure that we could still come in for the tour. My fiancé was heavily scrutinized, ridiculed, and interrogated by "Dawn". We were both disappointed by the lack of professionalism and courtesy of this employee, and we wouldn't do business with them nor recommend it. We politely told "Dawn" we'd no longer consider this venue to host our wedding. read more

Me and my husband just got married at the Inn on 9/12/15 and it truly was the wedding of our dreams! We knew from the time we met the team and saw the venue that it would be the best place for us to get married (only saw one venue and we were DONE!) The venue is absolutely beautiful and it's truly the perfect place to get married and working with their team is the icing on the cake. Jim was very responsive to work with and we really enjoyed our meetings with Dawn. She is full of life and really enjoys what she does! Chef Scott's food is out of this world- we had prime rib, champagne chicken, asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes and we still are hearing rave reviews about it! Rob was fantastic to work with as well and did a great job with keeping up with all of the drinkers at our party! He even helped us the next day with cleaning up our decorations. The entire team is extremely laid back and goes with the flow which made getting ready the day-of and the entire process very enjoyable! A lot of hard work goes into a wedding of our size- close to 200 people and the Inn knows what they're doing and it really shows. The weather on our wedding day and imminent rain wasn't looking great - they simply setup for both scenarios and there was never any stress about it. Everyone kept saying how amazing our wedding was and was wondering where we found this place! Now with the tent (AMAZING & definitely a show stopper!!) and able to accommodate bigger weddings they are really going to make a name for themselves and it's very well deserved. We held a rehearsal dinner there June of 2016. We live out of state, but our daughter-in-law to be lived in Northern Virginia. They chose to have wedding there. Our experience was less then desirable. The place needs a lot of updating inside and out. Our rehearsal dinner was for 80 people. We felt so squished into the space with over crowded tables. We were led to believe the space could accommodate up to 120 max. The servers didn't look professional. Took our grand daughter to get a Shirley Temple. It didn't have a cherry in it. I asked for a cherry, I was told that they are for our ice cream sundae bar. Hmmmm When I walked into the area where they set up the ice cream sundae bar.....I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Two gallon card board containers of ice cream, just set out....card board showing!!! Two store bought whip cream containers next to ice cream.....tacky tacky. We made a list of the toppings we asked for......yes cherries were on that list. 'THERE WAS NOT A CHERRY TO BE HAD". It was the tackiest ice cream sundae bar I have EVER seen. Our 4 year old grand daughter could have put a better Sundae bar together then that. We were SO EMBARRASSED!!!! Asked to have the buffet set up so people could use both sides to get their food so they didn't have to wait in such a long line.........Didn't happen......Long line!!! The women's bathroom was out of paper towels in the holder so they just propped up a roll of paper towels in the window sill :( Our guests said they liked the food that was served. The day of the wedding I got to talk to Jim, the manager, about our experience and how we felt. He said he would let the owner's know how our experience went. NEVER heard from them, more or less ever got to meet them ever face to face. I waited 5 days before I e-mailed Dawn to let her know how we felt. Her response was "I'm sorry you feel that way". That's it!!! Tacky Sundae bar with NO cherries, tacky bathroom.....unprofessional looking servers...... We felt like we paid a fortune for less then desirable results. BEWARE!!!! The pool outside......Ugggh old and seems like it's just for looks, the concrete around it is falling apart.... :( We felt disappointed that the owners were not on site to meet us and see if everything is OK. If the manager Jim told them about our experience....they never reached out to us in any way......I contacted Dawn. They made us feel through emails and conversations that they would handle what we needed done and accommodate what we were expecting. NOT SO! Two BIG thumbs down for our rehearsal dinner. read more

My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding here during major rain Nor'easterner. The ceremony was originally going to be held outside but because of the weather, it was moved inside. It was BEAUTIFUL and intimate! The house was gorgeous, The service was wonderful and the food delicious. The service was unbelievably well coordinated and the takedown from the ceremony was quickly changed to the reception. Definitely would recommend this venue for a wedding. read more

Read the Yelp reviews with concerns about condition of this property, so I decided to swing by on the way home from work today. Looked like they were setting up for an event, so I didn't want to interfere and just stopped at the edge of the parking lot to take couple of photos to share with the family. Owner ran over in his pickup truck to ask "May I help you?" ...in that tone that really said "WTF are you doing here?". I guess I looked like vagrant in my pressed dress shirt and dress shoes. Said he "was concerned", presumably about someone taking pictures at a wedding venue? No need to look any further at this place. If management is that rude to prospective clients, I can only imaging how he behaves once he has you under contract. Yes, the place still looks somewhat run down, especially the two buildings across the parking lot. I wouldn't trust my daughter's special day to this guy. I'll spend my $40-$50k elsewhere. read more

After a Fauquier Community Theatre performace, we recently ate a buffet meal there on Sunday, Oct 14 and it was horrible. They did not refill the appetizers so when we arrived, there were none. They ran out of silverware and plates - they knew we were coming! The champagne chicken was like eating rubber bands. The vegetables were the best part but who wants to pay $23 for a plate of vegetables? They ran out of rolls and dessert as well and did not refill either. There was only ice water available (not even ice tea!) and of course cash bar. The servers were non existent. We should have joined the remainder of the cast of went to a local restaurant. We would not have gone home hungry. read more

We decided on The Inn at Vint Hill for our May 2016 wedding site and couldn't be more pleased with how the day turned out. What initially won us over was how welcoming the owners were. Jim and Dawn were wonderful to work with leading up to and including the day of. The Inn itself is a welcoming place with a lot space space to work with. And the food was certainly above par. But what we appreciated the most was that we had the run of the place beginning at 10am. They only book one event a day and we enjoyed that there weren't too many restrictions on what was permitted. We had a photo booth and karaoke in addition to the standard music and dancing... The owners encouraged us to make the day and the entertainment our own. The Inn was also extremely flexible on the wedding day. They were able to set up chairs for an outdoor ceremony only 2 hours before when it appeared the rain would end. To summarize, we highly recommend The Inn to anyone planning a wedding or special event. They kept the planning stress free and helped make our wedding day very special for us. read more
