The ceremony and cocktail hour were held on the first floor and the reception was upstairs (and yes, there are elevators). The only caveat is that there are only bathrooms on the first floor, so we all made multiple up-and-down trips throughout the night. There is also an outdoor terrace on the second floor (unfortunately, the view is... the parking lot) but it was a nice area to chat with other wedding guests on a breezy, late May evening. The dance floor area was a bit small for the amount of guests, but it ended up working out. The dinner was buffet style, and the food was quite good! The strawberry salad was tasty, but maybe a bit too much dressing. The mashed potatoes were very garlicky with the perfect texture (not too smooth, but not too chunky). The steamed vegetables (broccoli and carrots) were seasoned enough to be enjoyable on its own and with the protein. There were three protein options: chicken, salmon, and steak. The chicken had a creamy sauce with a red pepper topping that I didn't love. The salmon was seasoned generously, but it was a bit overcooked. The steak was seared quite nicely, cooked medium, and it was my favorite of all three proteins. Overall, the food was good for a wedding venue. This was a great venue to have a wedding! We all had a great time at Sweeney Barn to celebrate our friends getting married.

I checked in online ahead of time and selected a range bucket, only to be told upon arrival that "they don't do that on weekends." Meanwhile, someone else in my group had already been given one without issue. That kind of inconsistency set the tone right away. Things didn't improve from there. Another person in our group wasn't allowed to take a cart to pick up a teammate and was instead told they had to walk up and check in first. It felt unnecessarily rigid and not customer-friendly. At the turn, I stopped to grab a Gatorade and had one of the more bizarre customer service experiences I've had. The only thing that greeted me was a dog. Multiple employees saw me standing there--including someone from the office and even a greenskeeper who walked in, grabbed a water, and left without paying--yet no one acknowledged me. I eventually had to leave a $10 bill on the counter myself just to move on. Overall, the course itself may be nice, but the lack of basic customer service, consistency, and professionalism made this a very disappointing experience. We did th wine tasting, and I honestly loved them all. We purchased a bottle of Celebration wine in the green bottle. They have other seating options in the manor house. Didn't check it out this time. They had The Little Lady food truck there today. We enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich. Highly recommend people check it out. It's closer to Fairfax than many other wineries. I wish I had taken more pics to show helpers how nice it was.

She walked into the event with no preparation and immediately jumped in and helped in every aspect -- ideating where items should be placed, making suggestions with respect to logistics, setting up/cleaning up meals, always thinking one step ahead.The day went so much more smoothly than it would have had she not been there. It is hard to keep everything moving along -- if you don't have the attention of the audience, so i was very appreciative that she could maintain her composure and work with so many moving parts. I will say that Alexis went above and beyond at our wedding. The venue had some step backs and didn't execute all of our wishes, but Alexis was there to the rescue. She was able to complete all of the necessary tasks, while still managing all of the vendors and the wedding party. To say the least, i am grateful to have her there. The food was good and the operator was very nice. The outdoor area has a beautiful view of Lake Manassas. The are plenty of tables and several fire pits. There are also several tables on the patio that are covered. They also have a covered stage for live music. Overall, a great way to spend a beautiful day outside. We hope to go back and try the flatbreads and pretzels once the weather is a little warmer.

The indoor area is quaint with a fireplace going as well as heated outdoor patio seating. It is by water and is probably beautiful in the summer. It was quiet and cozy for a chilly winter day. Owned by a South Asian it does cater to a lot of South Asian weddings but also other denominations. Pretty and large open space. However you have to park at the bottom of the Hill and walk up. If its cold or in heels, good luck. There is a small shuttle that will take 4-7 folks up but be careful getting in and out. If its early April and its cold, wear warm clothes like a overcoat. The bar and place for food buffets is outside...great for warm weather but not cold. The outdoor toilets flood so be aware. Nice large tent for guests but in cold weather don't depend on warmth from the heater as the door outside stays open a lot. Seems like a nice place to hold weddings with space but caveats beware.
