I ordered a sundae with vanilla ice cream, pb sauce, hot fudge, crushed Reese's, whipped cream, a cherry, and more Pb cups. It was divine! When I ordered, I asked for a ton of Pb cups, and he really hooked me up! It was perfect. Next time, I'd try their soft serve or one of their fun homemade flavors. This might be my new favorite ice cream spot. Maple bacon ice cream was amazing. Big chunks of real bacon. Nots of other flavor options too, including vino(sounds interesting). My was was pretty happy with the peanut butter sundae bud it was missing the peanut butter cup as described on the menu. Maybe a simple mistake. That won't stop be from returning. I loved the old-school 50's decor. Shinny vinyl seats, jukebox, kelvinator freezers, signs and antique gadgets. The place was mostly empty when we were there(mid-February). I imagine Inside Scoop is packed during the warm months. I'll be back to find out. read more

We always get the kids birthday cakes from here and once in a while will go for cones or dish ice cream but every now and again, there will be bits of ice crystals in my ice cream which usually indicates an issue with refrigeration which affects nucleation. I like that their soft serve uses real vanilla, no imitation stuff here. read more

Run, don't walk, to get ice cream here! The absolute best place around. There is nowhere else in the Lehigh valley that has soft serve as good as this place, and I've tried them all. I buy it by the quart to store in my freezer haha. Their waffle cones and authentic Belgian waffles are also to die for, as is their atomic freeze, which is like a DQ blizzard on steroids. They have traditional and artisanal hard packed flavors (my favorite is Black Forest but my kids love Parker's Playground). They also have vegan ice cream!!! The inside itself is the perfect place to hang out with shuffleboard, jukebox and a huge superball machine. You can tell the owners take pride in their shop with its retro vibe and over-the-top decorations like 20-foot ice cream man Chip outside. Not a coffee drinker but I heard they also make coffee and espresso worth making the extra trip for. read more

My sibling attended Desales University nearby, and we decided to check out The Inside Scoop one day while we visited. It's been 10 years now, and my family is STILL a huge fan of The Inside Scoop! My dad, a kid born and raised in Philadelphia, prefers it to Mister Softee!! My uncle moved close to the shop a couple years ago, and I think my dad makes extra visits (we're over an hour away) just to have a reason to pick up some ice cream... He even got some of his older relatives hooked by treating them! My grandma and her sister have said it's reminiscent of the homemade ice cream they got from a local farm as kids in the 40s. Generous portions, abundance of options, and a unique ambiance that feels like time freezes and nothing else exists :) A must-visit!!! read more

Ok, I haven't gotten to many new ice cream joints recently, but if you follow along, you know how much my kids and I LOVE good ice cream. After a recent softball tournament in Quakertown, PA my daughter 'needed' some ice cream to drown her sorrows after a loss...I was obliged to help with her shattered emotions and took one for the team. My daughter ordered a cup of E.T. which was ice cream with Reese's Pieces...she also got a shot of hot fudge. Her frown slowly turned upside down. I indulged, ordering the chocolate caramel sundae with chocolate pecan ice cream. If I could just order this now and have it the rest of my life I don't think I would ever get sick of it. I don't know if it got my daughter last her loss, but it did at least put her in a better mood. It was the least I could do. read more

This place to me comes across as a classic example of all sizzle but no steak. Was the ice cream good? Sort of. Best in the LV? Not even close. Was the decor inside nice? Without question, but who cares about that when there were A LOT of flavors that were sold out/missing and the ice cream we did get was rather...meh or shall I say full of hype but not flavor. The children opted for Cotton Candy which they both pronounced as "OK" but neither finished it because both thought that is was too sickeningly sweet. The lovely wife tried some kind of peanut butter something or other and her verdict was that it hit the spot. As for myself, I pretty much stick to black raspberry wherever I go and the black raspberry here simply is not very good. Their website calls it tangy and sweet but I seriously got no tang but I was bombarded with the sweet. Yick! The service as well left something to be desired as there was a steady stream of people coming in and the store was very understaffed but that did not stop one of the employees from visiting with her friends sitting at the counter while she complained very vocally about her other job. I see the other glowing reviews from other Yelpers and I suppose maybe it's just me but I was not blown away by The Inside Scoop. In fact I was disappointed by the woefully slow service, the fact the quite a few flavors were not available plus, simply speaking for myself, what we got was simply not very good. I pass by here weekly and maybe at some point I'll come back and try the ice cream here again but for now I'll stick to the Bethlehem Dairy Store for old school flavors and Nuts About Ice Cream for when my tongue wants to get it's freak on. read more

I am not a huge fan of ice cream. I usually have it once in a while when it is much craved for. BUT coming in here made me feel like a big kid who wanted to just eat out of every ice cream container. They have the most interesting flavors! And this months special solely due to St. Patrick's day is GUINNESS. Insane right?! My friend had that one and said it was really good! But because I simply couldn't make up my mind with all the options I stuck to the soft serve vanilla ice cream and hot fudge topping, while my friend had the craziest mix of a banana split! Best ice cream in bucks/Lehigh hands down. All home made ice cream and baked goods. They have a fun indoor seating area as well as tables outside. The waffle sundae was just as good as Nina's which I previously had as my marquis waffle but costs about half as much. Must check this place out. read more

I didn't expect to find a decent ice cream shop on my way back from Bethlehem, PA, but while looking for a java stop, Yelp directed me here to The Inside Scoop. It is all about homemade ice cream, although it does offer a limited amount of coffee, too. Coopersburg, is a exburb of Allentown and Bethlehem, and it is a fairly rural area. The Inside Scoop is a bright, well maintained fantasy-looking place with high ceilings and supporting crossbeams that have bits of wisdom carved into the wood. There is a mid-twentieth century feel to the place, with paisley formica tables and stainless steel frame chairs. The fifty or so available flavors of ice cream, froyo and soft serve, make this an oasis on a hot August afternoon. People of all stripes were stopping in to chill out of the 90+ degree heat, and take a few moments to enjoy their cool sweet creamies. The price of a small cup with two large scoops of your choices was $3 and change. Hard to beat! My combo of vanilla peanut butter and maple walnut was very good. Each flavor was clear and distinct, and the texture was great on the tongue. Cold enough not to be runny, but not so cold as to be difficult to lick or spoon. Unless you have a huge capacity, a small cup or cone is all you need. I would have had a difficult time eating more. Service is provided by well trained, friendly, high school kids. They quickly offer a tiny spoon taste of any flavor you request. Very much enjoyed and appreciated. The ice cream was quite good for a local shop making its own in Northampton County. It was not the best I've ever tasted, nor the creamiest, but it was a very solid performer; perhaps an 8 on a scale to 10. Regardless, the folks around here are fortunate to have The Inside Scoop to satisfy their ice cream cravings. Too, a lucky traveler stopping by is in for a true American treat. read more
