My wife and I stopped in at The Inside Scoop before heading back to Harrisburg. We have passed this place several times in the past, but never stopped. On this occasion we ordered a milkshake to go after sampling a few flavors. The inside is well decorated and the customers were multi-generational. It is a fun, cool place to visit. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet considering how many times we have been here!!! I love stopping in here for ice cream and look for every opportunity to do so; despite it being a 40 minute drive. All the ice cream is made by them, all natural flavorings and the cream they use is heavenly, super rich and super smooth. We always do 3 scoops each a different flavor, and each time we try to change it up. They have at least 18 different flavors, maybe more, and each one is awesome!!!! read more

I rarely give 5 stars. First - the place has a great and fun atmosphere. Also clean. Second it's homemade ice cream and they have some unique flavors. I never heard of beer and peanuts ice cream but they did it and it's pretty good. I enjoyed the pier butter vanilla and a ballpark crunch. Third - The number of flavors is large. My only complaint is why did it take us so long to stop in?!?! The homemade ice cream is absolutely delicious with rotating flavors. The best ice cream we've had......and my family loves ice cream!! I had the maple bacon, which was a little bit of heaven in my huge waffle cone! There were chunks of real bacon in it, and the flavor combination was out of this world. One of my kids got the peanut butter and jelly flavor, which was amazing with real peanut butter and jelly in the ice cream. The other one got Parker's Playground, which is an interesting mix of flavors, M&M's and Oreo's, which was also delicious. Finally, my husband got the mocha chip.....another really good flavor! Besides the amazing ice cream, the atmosphere is really cool! It is like stepping into a 1950's malt shop, complete with the juke box and the retro TV playing old black and white commercials. This place has the best ice cream I've had in the Lehigh Valley. It's slightly better than The Cup in downtown Bethlehem. Pros: - Quality: Great texture and flavor - Interesting Flavors: Easily largest and most interesting selection. They have some weird flavors that I'm guessing typically orders, but they also have some really interesting flavors that have been go-tos for me. I love the Oatmeal Brown Sugar and Smores flavors. - Atomic Freeze: I don't know how the machine works, but it turns the hard serve ice cream into soft serve and then they mix in toppings. It's the closest thing to a St. Louis style frozen custard concrete that I can find in the valley. - Seating Area: They have games for the kids to play and a large TV. - Ambiance: Feels like an old school soda shop from the 1950s. The ice cream selection is amazing, along with some current odd flavors like "Corn" and Beer and Peanuts, I am looking forward to going back and trying some of these unique flavors. . I had a Peanut Butter Sundae which was delicious and served with a full Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. The place as very nice and the perfect temperature on a warm summer day. They have a TV lounge in the back. We also saw something called The Volcano, this is a signature dish for a group, it has 14 scoops of ice cream, I think 8 toppings plus 6 spoons, if your group can conquer it you get a photo on the wall. read more

I somehow found myself in Coopersburg, and I am so happy that I ended up at The Inside Scoop. I went to Center Valley to see my friend for the day, and we stopped over at this establishment before I made the drive home to Jersey. When you walk right in, it's like you're experiencing a blast from the past with this old school ice cream parlor. It was even better seeing everyone working behind the counter with smiles on their faces and ready to serve everyone ice cream. My friend decided to get a cake batter waffle cone and I chose the cookie dough in a waffle cone. When I saw the price, I was a bit taken aback at first, since they were just under the cost for a sundae, but then it all made sense. The waffle cones here are huge, and the servers do an amazing job making sure that they are literally filled to the point where no ice cream could fit inside anymore. For about $10, my friend and I left, despite us wanting to chill in a booth, and walked out the door trying to juggle the huge cone in our hands. I'm pretty sure that cone took me a good half hour to finish, but it was all worth it. Each lick found a cookie dough bite, which is honestly the best part of cookie dough ice cream (I don't care what anyone else says). I tried my friend's cake batter ice cream as well, and it was done well without being overly sweet, which a lot of ice cream places I've been to struggle with. The ice cream itself is creamy, and you can tell just how fresh it is. I never encountered any icy bits. The waffle cone tasted delicious and just like the ones I made homemade before. While I can't ever see myself in Coopersburg again, I'm so happy I got to sample The Inside Scoop. These are the kinds of ice cream parlors I still love to visit time and time again, and I will be comparing every cookie dough ice cream I have again to this place. read more

Solid ice cream joint. Very cozy inside. They have a lounge and plenty of booths. Pretty standard ice cream flavors including water ice and a few sugar free flavors. They offer Monin syrups for coffee and have a small selection of packaged teas. The pumpkin ice cream was quite good according to my dh. Serving sizes are more than adequate. Was at the Inside Scoop last night for the first time, and it did not disappoint. Not in the area often. It was excellent. It was reasonably crowded, but we did not wait too long. I had an Italian ice/soft serve swirl thing, and my date had a vegan cup (which is good to know - it's not on the menu but they do have). We sat afterwards and enjoyed it very much. Decor is cute, 1950s themed. All in all excellent. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they were out of the Italian ice flavor I wanted (watermelon), but it was still posted on the menu, and the prices are a smidge high. My single-scoop of Chocolate PB ice cream was delicious, and the price was great for the quality and portion I received. The two ladies working there were both very nice and I left a happy customer. Stopped in over the weekend for an ice cream dinner (don't judge me). I hadn't realized that I did not review this place yet, since it's one of the best ice cream shops in the Valley. Service here is fine, not too friendly, but fast paced since they are always busy. This time was the third time I've been here and the first time I felt underwhelmed by the flavors. In the past, there was always exciting flavors and I've always wanted more than one. And they were great ever time. On this occasion, I looked at all the flavors and couldn't decide on one because nothing excites me. As I was ready to order, I saw that they had soft serve ice cream. Although my husband thought I was being dull (which is not in my nature), I went with vanilla soft serve in a sugar cone. The soft serve was perfectly creamy and tasting of real vanilla. Much better than most soft serve I've eaten. My husband always gets an ice cream waffle sundae. This time he had a coffee ice team with toffee in it. It topped a waffle (slightly over cooked, but REAL Belgium waffle) and was covered in hot fudge (made in house), whipped cream, and a cherry. He enjoyed his sundae. I'm not really a hot fudge lover, but I tasted the sundae anyway. I was not very fond of the ice cream. It tasted a tad to sweet for me. The place is 50's style and usually busy but clean. I personally love the picnic tables outside. Eating a cone on a hot day is perfection to me, but if you prefer to eat yours in the ac, there's plenty of seats inside. While we were there we saw there was a food truck, which is pretty cool. Looked to be a BBQ truck. We were having ice cream for dinner, so we skipped it. read more

Amidst this season of covid, could not resist satisfying an ice cream craving. Went for the first time on Thursday (5/7/20) with my roommate. There was a drive-through-only line, and Nicholas was taking orders on an ipad to expedite the process. When asked, Nicholas recommended the E.T. (for an intense peanutbuttery experience that included Reeses' pieces and peanuts) and Milky Way (malt chocolate with chocolate pieces and caramel - a delicious take on the chocolate bar). He guaranteed this would be a perfect combination, and it was pretty close. I loved the E.T. and the milky way was also delicious. Also, generous portions! Inside Scoop reminds me of an old fashioned old timey 50's ice cream shop. I love it. Great service and prices with a variety of flavors. There's a limit as to what flavors are available in a day but there's a nice variety of ice cream and yogurts (homemade on-site) of what is available. There's sorbet for non-dairy customers but I'd really like to see you guys make a a few non-dairy flavors for next summer as well. I'm sure you would attract even more customers. Plus, grandma can eat ice cream again (without farting)! Yay! read more
