I had seen a few 'You Tube' videos about The Peabody and was very excited to be stopping here even if it was for just 30 minutes. We were not staying here but I wanted to walk the downstairs just to get an idea of this place. It truly is a wonderful-old-oppulent place where you can just see and feel the history around you. The dim lighting along with the dark woods just send you back in time. Our purpose to come to The famous Peabody hotel were to see the ducks. We came to late to see them come into the pool and too early to se them leave but just watching them splash around and have what looked like a really good time was fun. (See photos) The layout of the lower level is beautiful and I just explored until finally making my way to the gift shop. They have a pretty extensive collection of anything Memphis and I would up walking out with an "Elvis Duck" for my collection. If you come to Memphis make sure you stop by, even if you're not staying here. It's worth it.

We opted to upgrade to the Club Level Rooms on the 12th floor. The 12th floor is very exclusive. There is a private lounge and dining area on this 12th floor. There is a breakfast served daily and also an appetizer/charcuterie reception daily in the Club Level. It is very much worth the upgrade. The convention spaces at this wonderful hotel are very spacious. The history of the hotel and its "Peabody Ducks" are the show stoppers. Everyday there is a "Duck Parade/March" in which the Duckmaster and retrieves the ducks at 11a from their duck sanctuary on the top floor of the hotel. He brings them down the elevator to the lobby and they march on the red carpet into the famous and ornate Peabody Fountain. Then, at 5p the Duckmaster comes to retrieve them and does another "Duck March" back to the elevator to take back up to the duck sanctuary. People travel from all over the world to witness and participate in this ceremony. They have honorary duck Masters, people who have waited years, who practice the ceremony with the Peabody Ducks and Duckmaster. Everything was so well appointed and very ornate. There is also a history of the hotel that plays on the video in each room. If you have an opportunity in your lifetime to stay at this hotel and enjoy the amenities, I highly recommend it. There is also a pool and an athletic club on the lower level. I didn't have a chance to get to that area, but that was one of my goals so I have to save that for the next time I visit. Overall, the Club level King Room, the Club Level, and everything about our stay was 5-Star. The Bell Desk has Jeffrey who was outstanding at getting our bags upstairs to our room. The hotel registration process was seamless with Diamond handling all of our details and upgrade to a Club Level Room. Diamond's customer service was EXCELLENT and she made me feel welcome and valued as a hotel guest. Charles, we assume he is the lead Concierge, at the Valet area was professional and he made things happen for all of the guests. We are so impressed.

But if there's a problem and you need a refund, be prepared for a difficult process. In my case, I requested a $2,000 refund back to my card. After more than three weeks and multiple promised dates missed, the refund still wasn't processed and I wasn't provided any transaction confirmation/receipt. I understand issues happen, but missed commitments and lack of verification made this far harder than it should have been. I would be cautious booking unless you're fully comfortable with the iffy refund terms and the risk of having to escalate to your card company.

This new facility is astounding...a large covered sound stage with incredible state-of-the-art acoustics, beautiful landscaping, hookups for 3 food trucks, plenty of tall shade trees, a beautiful outdoor bar, easy access to indoor restrooms, lots of free parking and seating for up to 1,000 folks with ease. We stayed in the Fly Fishing Lodge suite and it was awesome. 1,300 square feet of greatness in 1 room! We checked in and the lady at the front counter was so nice and friendly, it made the check in process easy. I asked about the back to school promo they were running since I called about it a couple days before my stay and she said it was on my bill (10% off and some coupons). Perfect! She let me know all the amenities the hotel offered and about the elevator ride. And even had a scavenger hunt for the kids! How awesome is that. You should offer that to everyone (minus the ducks for adults) because it was an awesome way to get to know the hotel and move around the hotel levels freely and with purpose. There is no pool here but it makes up for it with other things to do. From bowling, to the elevator ride, to the restaurants and the shopping there was plenty for the kids to do. Once we checked out and received our emailed receipt I realized the back to school promo wasn't applied to our bill. When I called the lady wasn't informed on the promo either so oh well, bummer.

The photos online are incredibly flattering and set expectations that simply weren't met. In person, the property felt dated and underwhelming. Our room overlooked a staircase instead of the store view we were led to expect, and there was nothing particularly luxurious about it. Even the "fireplace" was just a light effect, which felt misleading. The service was the biggest letdown. Most of the staff we encountered were unfriendly or dismissive. Housekeeping came by around 9:00 a.m. while I was getting dressed, and because I couldn't let them in at that moment, our room was never serviced for the rest of the day. No one returned. Calling the front desk was equally frustrating--we repeatedly waited on hold with no answer and ultimately had to go downstairs in person anytime we needed assistance. The layout and amenities were also disappointing. Guests could use the express elevator going up, but not coming down, which made little sense. The hallways were extremely dark and honestly felt uncomfortable and unsafe. Amenities were sparse, and room service after 11:00 a.m. was basically limited to burgers, offering very little variety. We were also attending events during our stay, and unfortunately the food served at every function was consistently poor. The location inside Bass Pro Shops is certainly unique, but the novelty wasn't enough to make up for the lack of service, misleading expectations, and overall value. For the premium price, I expected a true luxury experience. Instead, it felt more like paying luxury rates for a very average hotel. I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
