The scotch egg was tasty and I went with my servers recommendation for the pistachio soufflé and it was excellent. Overall, our group really enjoyed the food and it was a great venue for our event.

I enjoyed the scones but the sandwiches were a little bland and the petite fours were decent. Also, grabbing the waiter's attention can be a little difficult. Overall, it's good for those looking for an affordable tea option.

There was an offer of free wifi in every room but for some reason I couldn't get it work I'm not sure whether this is a recurring issue. The TV came with the usual terrestrial channels and would have been better if there was at least a full freeview package. Sadly we didn't get to sample the food as we dined elsewhere, however the room service menu looked pretty good and not quite as expensive as I would have expected. However we did have a couple of drinks in the bar which was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and the bar had a nice atmosphere and was more sleek and stylish than your run of the mill hotel bar. My only actual complaint of the hotel was that the bed was a bit too hard. While I had no trouble sleeping, I did find it hard to relax comfortably whilst watching TV or snoozing in the morning. Overall we were very happy with the stay and in particular were very impressed with the friendly and professional nature of all staff members by whom we were served.

The music suits the interior design (I particularly liked the wall where customers left their thoughts on using a felt pen and the one full of old photos). They have a nice function room upstairs too if you wish to have a private party. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Eastbourne definitely needs more places like this, go and find out for yourselves!
