I've only been to the ivy house for events that they've hosted or put on, not for a wedding. However especially during the summer- they make sure to use the most out of their space when it's not being used. Whether it's patio daze, food truck festivals, salsa dancing or farmers markets- ivy house knows how to make their space and presence known. Great bartenders, staff, and events. Can't wait to see what else they do this summer!

We got married at The Ivy House on April 16, 2022. We cannot give Ivy House enough praise! Ivy House exceeded our expectations. We plan on attending all of their summer events because we are so bummed our wedding is over. I came across this venue early in my planning stages. I fell in love with it before I even saw it in person. We're also fans of Walker's Point neighborhood so that was another plus. We intended on a summer wedding originally, but this is a popular venue that books far out in advance. They only had a date in April & October. The April date happened to be our six year anniversary, so we took this as a sign! Abby showed us the venue originally, but did not end up being our event manager. We really liked Abby so this bummed us out, but we were more than happy with who ended up being our event manager. Sarah is AMAZING!!!! (Honestly, I don't think there is a single person working there that isn't.) Sarah was helpful from the minute we met her, and continued to be for every aspect of our wedding. She responded to everything in a timely manner, and with such reassurance and positivity, that it calmed me down in my most stressful moments. I need to move on with this review, otherwise I won't stop gushing about her. Everybody who worked our event was truly terrific. The bartenders whipped up lots of our signature cocktails and were extremely diligent to anyone with a special role in the wedding (bride, groom, wedding party, parents, etc.). Special shout out to our favorite bartender, Nick! Everything about this venue is gorgeous - from the live ivy plants to the huge bridal suite we all thoroughly enjoyed. My bridesmaids and I were able to use the suite throughout the day and arrive very early to start the getting ready process. The outside patio was a great additional space for people to enjoy later at night. Our ceremony space was everything I envisioned it to be. Everyone involved in set-up and tear-down did an exceptional job. There are a lot of moving parts in a big wedding, and the Ivy House staff is exactly who you want by your side to make it all happen. We are still sad our wedding is over because it was truly the most magical day of our lives. Anyone thinking about it, get married here. THANK YOU IVY HOUSE - WE ARE OBSESSED!

We got married at the Ivy House in May 2022, and it was an absolute dream venue! The space speaks for itself - it's beautiful! But the staff and other details set our wedding above the top. Matt was our coordinator, and he could not have been more amazing!!! Our parents and bridal party are STILL (4 months later) talking about how amazing he was. He was refreshing everyone's drinks, taking care of every detail, being our personal hype man, and handling everything with the biggest smile! Having Matt as our coordinator truly made it so that we could enjoy the wedding and not worry about a single thing! We also were able to do pretty much the entire ceremony and reception (minus dinner) outside! The dancing outside was an absolute game changer. Our guests still cannot stop talking about how much it set our wedding apart! We could not have had a more beautiful day - thanks to the Ivy House !!!

We booked when the venue wasn't even done being constructed yet, so I have to be honest I was nervous going in since I relied on reviews for booking all of my other vendors, and obviously there were now reviews for South Second yet. I am SO thankful we went with South Second for our wedding reception. Michelle was absolutely incredible to work with. I had tons of ticky tacky questions and she helped me answer all of them, we had a last minute seating change that she accommodated quickly and professionally on the day of. We have gotten so many compliments on how fun and beautiful the venue was. I also can't even count how many people said it was some of the best food they've ever had at a wedding. This place and the staff are absolutely amazing.

Talked to Michelle on the phone and she was anything but easy to work with. My fiance and I both work 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. She wouldn't allow us to come in after 5pm on the weekdays and she said that she wasn't available to tour the venue on a Saturday. I understand there are weddings but there are plenty of venues that fit us in well before the wedding that same day to accommodate us. We're very happy we didn't go with this venue because I would have worried what the rest of the communication would have been through the planning.

Instead of simply explaining the situation, the older bald bartender immediately started yelling at the two women in our group and clearly making a scene, demanding they come to the bar over something that could have been handled with a simple conversation. What made it especially weird and unwelcoming was how easily the situation could have been resolved with a simple explanation. If the women's restroom was closed, all he had to do was say that. Instead, he immediately escalated the situation by yelling and making a scene before even asking what was going on. He kept escalating the situation, acted rude the entire time, and insisted the women--who were clearly adults--show their IDs without even ordering a drink. It felt less like he was doing his job and more like he was looking for a confrontation. The whole interaction was unnecessarily hostile, unprofessional, and completely out of proportion to what actually happened. It left a terrible first impression and was enough to make us leave. There are plenty of other bars nearby where the staff knows how to treat customers with basic respect, and I'd recommend going to one of those instead.

Angry?! I was both. I finally called to ask if the hours had changed. It's not that the hours have changed, per say, but the business has changed. The New business model is event space only and no longer open to the public. Whilst this makes me incredibly sad as that was my hidden spot and the only champagne bar in Milwaukee it's bittersweet because of course a great success for the business in that they have enough event reservations to sustain it alone. Will someone else please open a champagne bar? (with bigger glasses -- now I know I'm asking too much!) Cuvee was one of my places... my hidden places to take people for the first time because I always knew 9 times out of 10 no one knew about it. The access to the building from the street was a complete mystery and an adventure on it's own as people would ask: "Where are you taking me". Silence I would remain... for I didn't want to take away from the journey. Oh and also, I quite simply love, love, love champagne. My only issue with champagne is the tiny, skinny little glass that it comes in. Makes me sad just thinking about the littleness of a champagne glass... *tears up*

Extremely frustrated with the lack of service and shocked that I was willing to spend so much money on a place with such poor regard for their guests.

Oh, and of course coffee and food too. Well, I found that and MORE here at Wantable Cafe. Not only is it FREE to come here--no monthly subscription unlike some other remote work cafes but they also let you reserve noise cancelling pods. Two pods have couches where a few people can sit and work together and one pod is for a solo person working--or like in my case having to take an exam with dead quietness, no people, pets and be heavily scrutinized. It's down a side street off of 1st Street, so it's easy to miss. It's a brick building sitting on the corner, with just enough signage to let you know you're at the right place. Inside is a large area that is both a coffee shop and a coworking/collaboration space to help people connect. There are large tables for groups, small tables for couples, or work pods for privacy. Great idea! They have the usual barista favorites, along with smoothies, breakfast, and lunch items. When I arrived, there were several other people working on their laptops. Met the friendly barista and ordered my usual London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla, extra foam). They didn't have scones (so sad), but they did offer some nice bakery items that they source from Stone Creek Coffee. After several minutes, my London Fog was ready, along with the Morning Bun. They did a nice job with the drink, it was the perfect temperature (about 140F), and the pastry was warmed up nicely as well. During my time there, other people started to show up, but the noise level was good. Conversations were quiet and respectful of others. This place does a nice job of balancing the intimacy of a coffee shop with the need for a collaboration space.
