My review from 7 years ago still holds true. Great wings here, and yes I think they are spicy though most people would disagree with me on that. Their bleu cheese is delicious. Wing night is Wednesday, $1/wing. With the popularity of wing night, expect a bit of a wait. Three beers of the month, 6 wings, $21 not including tip.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Club Garibaldi yet. How embarrassing! It's one of my favorite local bars!! Come here to see some of my favorite bartenders around, and friendly customers as well. They keep the drinks flowing and the atmosphere fun. The food is great with specials throughout the week. Think simple, but delicious. Tuesday burger slider special, Wednesday wings, and Thursday BBQ and Korean pork sliders. Ya can't go wrong! This place is also great for watching games. There is a large back room with a huge projector. On Sundays, there's also a beer and wing special! Wings are amazing here! It's casual, fun, and lively with a neighborhood feel. Also offering comedy shows, and music on certain nights! Cheers to Garibaldi!

Best kind of dive! Solid food, the ocasional live concert and a friendly, welcoming bar staff make this a gem of a watering hole. The wings are legendary and some of the best in the city. Only prepared one way, but grilled to perfection . Wednesday and Sundays nights are their wing special so be prepared to wait, it's very busy and they fry them up in a small kitchen at the end of the bar. They have a unique taste and a nice kick. They have food specials every day and Tuesdays they have these massive beef sliders for $3 a piece. Juicy and flavorful, highly recommend! Club Garibaldi is also a concert venue and they book some great local and national acts. Great sound in an intimate space. Note: The grill closes early on Friday/Saturday show nights at 8 pm. Great Bay View dive with some solid bar food and shows.

My wife and I were trying to go to the Palomino Bar and Grill across the street. However, due to TripAdvisor not having the post Covid hours up to date, that place was closed. We decided to try Club Garabaldi and it was the most unfriendly experience we have had in a long time. We felt like we were intruders and were not welcome. The bartender was rude and did not allow us to sit in the band area where they were doing soundtracks even though the band said it was OK that we sat there. My wife ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. However, when it came out it had cheddar cheese on it. Bartender brought us a cold piece of Swiss and mushrooms on the side. I ordered a special of the day, which was the "Wild Bill", described to be a crispy chicken patty with "buffalo wing sauce" and bacon. The chicken patty was so small and rectangular and burnt that I thought it was a frozen fish patty. I pointed this out to the bartender/server for thinking that we got someone else's order. She indicated that the cook was new and it was his first day. She insisted that we do not serve fish in this bar and that it was a chicken patty. I explained to her that there was no "wing sauce" on it like it said in the description and she indicated the wing sauce was fried into the patty. She then very rudely went to the back and got me a side of wing sauce, which I told her I did not want. I should point out that this "wing sauce" was like a sweet and extremely salty barbecue flavored marinade and did not have the consistency or the taste of a sauce at all. Not edible. If it wasn't for the fact that my wife and I were so hungry, I would have sent everything back. However we ate it and it was one of the worst experiences we have had with our food and service in a long time. The bartender/server did attempt to make it right when I paid the bill at the bar stating she took two dollars off for the mushroom Swiss burger. At this point, I could observe behind the bar immediately to my right, where the new cook was frying the food. The fryer vats were visible to me and I could see the fryer oil was black and looked like it had not been changed in months. That would explain the gross burnt crust on my chicken patty. For me, it was too little too late and what she took off in the two dollars is what she got back in a tip. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and will never be back even though the band sounded like they might be pretty good, and we were considering coming back while we sat there and listened to them sound check prior to being told to leave that room. I wish I had taken the photos of our food dishes for this review. I was not expecting to write this review, but after this experience I felt it was necessary to warn people that might be considering going here.

Tl:dr this place has the best wings in Milwaukee. I know, I know! People are very aggressive about the wings in this town. I also know that me finally taking a stand and pledging me allegiance to one place for wings is a controversial move during this election season, but it's time. GARIBALDI'S HAS THE BEST DAMN WINGS AROUND. You can order them in increments of 6, yes you can order them with ranch or blue cheese (LOTS of ranch for me) and yes they come with some dumb celery sticks I don't care about. But they come one way, house-made Garibaldi's style and they're amazing. Do not ask them for your wings any other way, they know better than you. Perfectly grilled with little hints of char with a hot sauce that's the flavorful, but not too hot. The wings almost fall off the bone, that's how tender the meat is. Yeah they got other stuff and yeah I'm guessing it's also pretty good, but WHY?! WHY WOULD YOU GET ANYTHING ELSE WHEN THE BEST WINGS ARE HERE?! With football season in full swing, call ahead, get your order in for delicious takeout and thank me later.

I stopped here for lunch to use up another bookmark and to try the wings that people are saying are so good. The place is a small neighborhood bar and restaurant with a small bar and a few tables with a small kitchen. The woman working the bar was super friendly and made me feel comfortable but it was 10 minutes after opening and only other customer was in the place. They have a nice amount of taps to choose from so I had a city lights brew with my wings. Some people say that they have the best wings in town so I asked the bar tender what she thought and she said that she is a vegan and has never had them so I ordered them anyway. I don't know if I have ever had a vegan cook my meat for me but it made me think about it. I could see that my wings were cooking on a char grill so that is cool. The wings only come in one flavor which is the house flavor that came with celery and blue cheese sauce. The wings looked pretty good with nice grill marks and average size so not jumbo but not tiny. The wings were moist and tasty and not super messy. The house sauce is something I would never order if it was a flavor on a list from another place judging by the description the bar tender told me. The sauce is best described as hot wing sauce crashing into sweet bbq which was oddly satisfying with some heat. Ok the wings are pretty good with the house sauce I will give them but they didn't topple my favorite wings. This was a nice spot for a leisurely lunch and a beer.

This is a quintessential neighborhood bar. A place where everybody knows your name, right? It sure felt that way. Sitting at the end of the bar, I watched local after local enter the bar to a minor celebration. Fellow regulars shouted out the person's first name and followed up with a friendly handshake or a pat on the back. Soon, he or she was holding a cold one and catching up on the recent happenings. It's not a fancy place, but it does well at what it does. Beers and basic adult beverages are served nice and cold. A limited menu of your favorite bar recipes is available if you're hungry. Service is friendly and happy to offer suggestions.

Phenomenal grilled wings. Great dive bar with music on weekends. Good atmosphere with local patrons.

I went on a 75 cent wing Wednesday after my friend told me it was the best wings in town. I would have to DISAGREE. I mean they had a Buffalo tangy flavor with no true spice while too grilled after being fried. Additionally, the wings were as small as it gets. Just look at the 12 wings for 9$ in my pic. Overall, wouldn't go back just because the wings are small and wing flavor is not savory or spicy for my liking.

    Wings. Really good wings.

They have indoor and outdoor seating for the season. Great for mini hangouts with friends. I tried their soup of the day , broccoli cheese, and salad that was pretty good. They got my dressing wrong, supposed to be ranch but it was bleu cheese. It seems the place was busy and only had one server so it took sometime to receive the entrees, so plan ahead if you're expecting to eat hungry.

Von Trier is an institution -- not the bad kind, like a "mental institution", or an "Ale Asylum" (I…read morelove that name!); the very good kind, as in a cultural and community treasure. I'm old enough to remember the place when it was Rieder's. Already a warm and special place, with a jukebox filled with classical music, it had a groovy mid century modern decor and was a hangout for MSO musicians after concerts. It acquired its lavish, present-day German decor when it was sold to Karl Lotharius. I don't recall how much longer, after that, the jukebox survived, but the astounding decor remains. Alas, there's a reason for my one star (which, I hope and assume, the present owners will notice) . . . and it has to do with a certain scourge -- the maddening omnipresence of which is second only to that of A.I. I refer to TV screens. There have been several ownership changes since Lotharius departed this mortal coil, and I honestly don't know at what point in time it was decided to tarnish the decor with the addition of several TVs. (I was so enraged by the sight of them, when I first entered the front door after a long time away, that I didn't bother to look at the back room; consequently, I have no idea whether the scourge has ruined that room as well.) Clearly, in jumping on the "give the people what they want" bandwagon, the owners (current and/or recent) believe that there's no such thing as too many sports bars (or at least, bars that can be compelled to serve that function at least some of the time). Gosh, I would think that people who are so into SPORTS, when coming upon a bar lacking screens, would have sufficient fitness, energy and motivation to walk a block or two extra, if necessary, to find and enter one of the many other establishments equipped to satisfy their jones for that pathetic fix. But then again, I guess it's that fundamental laziness that makes them mere spectators. There's only one thing worse than a proprietor so lacking in imagination, individuality, courage and self-respect that, when choosing a design for their establishment, they cave to the TV trend. It's a proprietor who ruins an EXISTING treasure by plunking multiple TV screens into the middle of it all. Like turds in a punch bowl. It's great to "get away from it all" for a while, isn't it, for a nice meal, drinks and conversation? The thing is, if I want a TV screen, I can see one at home. (But I don't want to. Not always, anyway. To judge from what TV, movies and commercials show us, every home now has the same standard, ugly, huge plastic rectangle (the TV screen) dominating its designated room(s), out in the open. As for me, I require mine to live inside a closed cabinet. It only comes out when I say that it can.) And, rather than seeing constant reminders that our world has all but become the kind of dystopia in which there's no escaping that intrusive electronic barrage, I could instead just stay at home and watch any of the many sci-fi movies on that theme (a theme that used to be merely a warning. Now, such films more resemble documentaries.) Shame.

However, the continuous construction (I feel like it's been since 2012??!!) is always extremely discouraging and parking is like the survival of the fittest. The pub itself has a similar vibe to Three Lions. I ADORE the Union Jack painted on the ceiling and red English phone booth. It is reminiscent of a stereotypical "English" pub (and yes, I have been to many - mostly outside of London - in the past 3 years). There was only one employee working at my time of visit, and maybe 10-15 other patrons. I ordered the Ruben rolls, which were great but left in the fryer 2 mins too long. Sadly, they did not have any of the ciders or beers I longed for.... which is understandable these days due to tariffs. I definitely plan on going back to see what the vibe is like during World Cup matches.
