Mini fridge, one cup coffee pot and hair dryer. Unfortunately, we found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable. It was like laying on the floor. The pillows were down, but the kind that flattened and stay flat. The water in the shower is just gross. It left you feeling slimy. Never clean. My hair was a giant knot, no matter how much conditioner I used. Unfortunate. There is no microwave in the room. However , there is one by the coffee bar in the lobby. They also had a mini fridge with juices and flavored water. They did not offer water or ice anywhere. This was a huge inconvenience. We drink a lot of water and ice would have been nice. We did end up buying a case of water. As cute as the Blacksmith inn is, I would not go back. If you're not getting a good nights sleep it really affects your vacation. Not visiting in years, I recently had…read morea chance to go back to Door County with my husband, sister, and parents- AND it was like I remembered it with the added bonuses of now being an adult who can do more shopping (allowance becomes salary) and drinking (cider becomes cider). These are good things. Yes, it is a nice spot for young families, but you can also have a quality time with a group of adults. If you have never been or never heard of Door County (or DCW for us in the know), it is about five hours from Chicago (four if you speed, but you won't want to). Five hours is a completely manageable drive, when the weather is nice; when it isn't, you basically pray on a loop that you won't hit a deer. The anxiety just makes the drive more fun! In pleasant weather, you pass distracting places with huge signs that simply say "C-H-E-E-S-E" and "F-I-R-E-W-O-R-K-S" on them. Driving from Chicago, you basically follow the coast line of Lake Michigan until you can't drive anymore; DCW is the thumb on the hand of Wisconsin. For my Michigan natives, use your other hand to understand Wisconsin's hand geography. Where we have stayed at friend's cabins and some other hotels, we stayed at Blacksmith Inn on the Shore this time. Blacksmith Inn is beautiful and has many room options (including ones in the Harbor House next door). For this stay, we rented out the Orchard House across the street. The four-bedroom fully-functional house felt more like an airbnb rental than connected to the Inn, which was absolutely perfect. So much well-preserved vintage, comfortable beds, and an excess of bathrooms made this a great place for our group. There are many other stay options in Door County; with all of the inns, B+Bs, lodges, and actual airbnb rentals, you basically need to breakdown what are going to be the most important amenities for your stay and book accordingly, but this place was perfect for us.

She gave us good recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. The grounds are very well kept and every cabin has a view of the lake. We stayed 4 nights in September in cabin #4; the a view from the living room is included. Try Sister Bay Bowl for a wonderful fish dinner and be sure to climb the tower in Peninsula State Park. The tower was recently rebuilt and includes a ramp to accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. The White Gull Inn, just down the street, has won awards for their stuffed french toast. The Cottages are in the heart of Fish Creek so walking to your favorite destination is very convenient.

BAD - rest of the staff. horrible beds I'm in so much pain I never hardly slept. dirty walls and top of fridge. jets in tub need serious cleaning. dark black spots in grout. but worst handicapped parking. nothing is clearly marked and on ground it's half covered in snow and ice. people constantly illegally parked and staff really don't care. at the very end of your parking lot u have one spot with an actual upright sign. in winter especially not being accessible and clearly marked and cleaned and enforced by police is not ok with a child in a wheelchair in dead of winter. for what you charge, and up charge for Saturday night versus Thursday and Friday night it's definitely not worth it. will look somewhere else for next visit.

They gave me a key with a huge wooden keychain so it would be hard to lose the key. Made it hard to walk around with. Later on after I was getting settled I went back down to the desk to ask 2 simple questions and the person at the desk didn't know the answers to my questions which was a little weird. Maybe a new staff member for the summer. The room had that quaint, countryside feel. It does have a musky scent when you first walk into the room. Once you're in there for a couple of mins you don't notice it anymore. Everything was very clean with the exception of the tub in the bathroom that had some hairs left behind by the former guest and some microscopic bugs by the sink. It was great having a full fridge and microwave which I used both. No stove or oven so keep that in mind. The temp in the room was great and can be changed whenever you want. The bathroom has small vials of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bath/body gel - keep that in mind cause I'm always used to hotels having a huge refillable container of all those products. The TV is a regular tv with local and national channels. No logging into different streaming platforms if that's your thing. The Pool - spent a little amount of time there. The temp of the heated pool was great. Towels are available at the pool. The recliners aren't the most comfortable for a position to read but I made do. Breakfast - I went to the little nook in the morning for breakfast but only got a coffee and hard boiled eggs once. They had cereal, and some other items. I'm not much of a breakfast person. Parking - lots of parking. You'll register your car with the front desk. The only comment on this is that they need desperately to redo the lines in the parking lot cause it was hard to tell if they were specific spaces at all. Location - I think the location is perfect to hop down to Fish Creek or another neighboring bay city. It was central to everything I felt and Fish Creek ended up being one of my fav places to hang out and walk around. So many shops and restaurants.

The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfy and are well appointed with bath robes, a small refrigerator/freezer, seating area and outdoor balcony for upgraded rooms with a lake view. A basic continental breakfast is offered in the lobby every morning with coffee and tea available throughout the day. This family run resort is a family favorite for a reason! The variety of breakfast is a little lacking, but it is a small operation. Our suite was a bit funky, as you walked in through one king bedroom to get to the Living area. There was another king bedroom that was lofted and both have their own en suite bathrooms with a fabulous shower, set up, with a regular head, range, showerhead, and three body sprays. There was an issue one night, where there was a constant clicking, and being a musician. I measured it with my metronome, it clicked 42 time per minute. The manager and this person went on the roof themselves to try to discover the problem, along with her HVAC service, and found the issue, comping us one entire day. We will definitely try to stay at the same resort on our next trip, and will try to book far enough in advance to get the penthouse suites!

Staff was very welcoming and there were several places to sit and enjoy the lake views. Would definitely come back! Bailey's Harbor was also a perfect home base for excursions to Cana Island Lighthouse and Washington Island, with the additional benefit of being less touristy than other areas we visited.
