Best Bloody Mary in Door County! With the caveat that this is the one place in Door County I've tried Bloody Mary. Really though, look at the photo, this is a mail in itself, it has cute little pancakes, a generous helping to two thick caramelized bacon strips, cheese and olives. I noticed there was no chaser, that's because this place is so new they are still working on getting their license to serve and sell beer. And you might have guessed it, this Bloody Mary has wine in it! The most locale specific appropriate. I tried the breakfast taco, it was full of flavor! I was full from the Bloody Mary, so I left with some leftovers. This place was wide open and full of available seating when we got there in a Sunday morning. Try out its place before it gets crowded! They sell local jams, syrup, and other Door County homemade specialties. The waitress(she might have been the owner) is friendly and open to ideas. Cute place with nice decor! A must stop if you're hungry! Oh and one more thing, they have a projector set up so you won't have to miss a big football/baseball game while you're dining!

    Sunrise Melt - very delicious!

This is the best breakfast in Sister Bay that you've probably never had! We went to Al Johnson's to find an hour wait. This quaint little spot around the corner has just 8 tables but we gave it a shot and I'm sure glad we did! The service was excellent and the food was amazing! I had the sunrise melt and my parents had the omelette. They both said they were the best omelette's they'd ever had - and they're in their 70's. Highly recommend!!

House salad with a scoop of chicken salad

Tried the newest lunch spot in Sister Bay today! The place is really cute on the outside. Behind the dining area, is the counter where you can either place your order or the waitress will come to the table. We chose to sit out front (lovely!) and have full-service. We were the only people there when we arrived and the service was prompt and friendly. The menu had mostly sandwiches (all sounded really great, but I am avoiding starches at the moment, so was looking for more salad options). There was one salad listed on the menu. I decided to order that and asked for a scoop of the sous-vide chicken salad on top. Not long after, the salads arrived and were gorgeously plated! A small basket of sliced baguette with a little scoop of unsalted butter topped with course sea salt and fresh chopped herbs accompanied the salads. The silverware came wrapped in black paper napkins. When we unwrapped, it was a delightful surprise to find they were brass. Gorgeous! Love this trend! The salads were so delicious. The chicken salad scoop on top was incredible. Sous-vide chicken breast with dill and finely chopped celery. This was the best chicken salad I have ever eaten. So yum. The greens were fresh baby spring greens, spinach and arugula, topped with a few candied walnuts, some goat cheese and pickled red onions. It all worked so well. This really should be a featured salad! The owner came out several times to check on us and ask how we were doing. He's a pleasant man. I saw a few couples and some groups of four walk in and then leave soon after. Not sure if they were checking out the marketplace or didn't find what they were hoping for on the menu. Some suggestions for growth for the new business: I looked for the menu on the website, but it's not there. They're really new, still, but I would expect the website to have the menu and not stock photos like it does (New York City? Strange.) You walk in to the main dining area which had a handful of tables and was playing a Disney movie projecting on the wall; this was also strange to me. Maybe consider getting rid of the movie and even the TV. Conversation with another person on vacation and even as a local is so wonderful! More salad options! You did the salad so well, I'd love to see what the chef can come up with. Overall it was a delightful experience and I will definitely be back. Thanks, Goose and Twig!

There was another king bedroom that was lofted and both have their own en suite bathrooms with a fabulous shower, set up, with a regular head, range, showerhead, and three body sprays. There was an issue one night, where there was a constant clicking, and being a musician. I measured it with my metronome, it clicked 42 time per minute. The manager and this person went on the roof themselves to try to discover the problem, along with her HVAC service, and found the issue, comping us one entire day. We will definitely try to stay at the same resort on our next trip, and will try to book far enough in advance to get the penthouse suites!

They have a great location atop a hill on main thoroughfare Highway 42, and a short 5 minute walk away from the heart of Sister Bay's vibrant commercial strip.  They are also a relative good value and get bonus points for having an English theme.  Having had many memorable and pleasant stays in the UK, any place that takes me back is a plus, and this place did that to a degree.   The owner and innkeeper Mike was at the desk when we arrived.  He's my kind of guy - a friendly Brit with a sense of humor.  When I said we had a party of 2 for 1 night, he dryly replied "Oh, but we have you for a party of 1 for 2 nights". As I rolled my eyes, he broke out into a chuckle, ha.  He's a native of Portsmouth, England and has owned and run this nice property for 25 years.  The 2-story property is homey, inn-like and not hotel-like, nicely and quaintly decorated in English style, and has a bar and several cozy sitting areas.  There's a 24 hour complimentary bean grinding coffee machine and the bar works on a self service guest honor system.  A swimming pool is also available in the back for those interested.  The included breakfast is comprised of a large and delicious selection, and their particularly delicious almond Danish pastry was more pie like and quite distinctive.  Each room has a name (ours was #104, the Winchester) and a small patio and it was comfortably laid out.   I really want to give this place 5 stars particularly for its location and value and theme but will have to hold back to 4 stars.   The reasons being that I didn't get a great sleep because 1) the pillows were too spongy and soft for me, 2) the king bed was a bit soft and bouncy, and 3) the wall A/C was quite loud when it kicked on briefly and frequently.    We may be back someday during the quieter heating season and try a different room (i.e., bed) also.  I may also start bringing my own pillows as my pillow complaint is not uncommon and not aimed just at the Inn here.  I really do like this place and the owner.

Started with the cheese plate and very much enjoyed the selection. I wish they would have provided more bread or crackers but that is because I'm a carb lover. Additionally, we had to clarify what one of the items on the cheese plate was because it tasted like alcohol to my husband. Looked like olives or cherries. It was indeed a type of cherry and had alcohol. I was grateful we had asked before trying myself at 8 months pregnant. My husband got the pressed 1/2 chicken and we both loved it. It had an incredible depth of flavor, great seasoning. I got the braised short ribs and enjoyed these as well. However, I wished they had been served with mashed potatoes instead of what I believe were grits. We ended our meal with the flourless chocolate cake which was the perfect cherry on top. Caramel spoons with popped amaranth on top were served with our check. Nice touch! Cozy atmosphere, nice fire crackling and friendly servers. What more can we ask for?

To begin with, the accommodation lacked any hot water entirely, rendering showering impossible, and the hot tub was also therefore useless. Furthermore, the presence of mold and mildew was evident, and predictably, I suffered allergic reactions, respiratory irritation, and ultimately, lung infections, which necessitated our early departure due to respiratory distress. Although a dehumidifier was provided, its filter was clogged, and despite my attempts to clean it with cold water, I discovered substantial mold growth in the unit itself. Upon inspecting the collection bucket, I found it to be in a deplorable state. When we opened the windows, we were greeted by an influx of lake flies, only to discover that the screen had become detached from the frame, which was also warped, allowing house flies to enter alongside the lake flies. Additionally, the stove was dirty, with aluminum drip bowls caked with burnt oil, which seemed like a simple matter to rectify with new replacements of four available at a reasonable cost of $12 at any Walmart. The uneven flooring, exacerbated by the addition of new vinyl over old, presented another issue, and the flooring's appearance was unappealing, potentially due to the poorly chosen color. The overall condition of the furnishings was decrepit, with the stained and smelling faux suede sofa being particularly ill-suited for high-traffic use. I also noted that the plumbing's exposed pipes detracted from the ambiance. Regrettably, the accommodation appears worn out and in dire need of renovation. The breakfast was subpar, and the provision of instant coffee was disappointing. While there are potential positives in its excellent location and pleasant grounds, I must advise against booking here until significant refurbishments are undertaken.
