Haha Thursdays is where its at!! 5 bucks all you can drink aww ya!!! Even better is its not served in those damned plastic cups filled to the brim with ice like at Whiskey River either! Beer pong is always fun, the DJ can get a little to loud for the lack of actual dancing going on (usually just become a drunk white girl twitch fest). The staff and owner are all super legit and know how to throw down on a good time! If your looking to get pissed for cheap, meet a girl or two (and to say that for Greeley is reaaaaaalllly hard) or just have a great time with your buddies P-box is def the way to go! I've had the food too and its pretty standard but price matches well so no complaints! read more

Divey bar that's in the basement of the Penalty Box. The bartenders actually make pretty decent cocktails, which is rare in Greeley. The clientele isn't too bad, especially compared to other Greeley bars like AF Rays. As far as atmosphere goes, the seats around the bar are black leather and there is a central fireplace which is nice in the winter. That, and they do trivia and karaoke on Tuesdays. I really don't care who stands between me and good food when I'm hungry. So despite some of the negative reviews about gangsters etc. frequenting this place, I went here for pizza. A coworker and myself were in the oil field for a week straight. Our shift ended, we needed food. This was the only place that was open on a Tuesday night and supposedly had good pizza. It was great pizza. Some of the best I've had in years. The place probably had 20 people in it doing karaoke to a live band, drinking etc. I was old enough to be their father and nobody seemed to care that oil trash like us was sitting in the middle of the place devouring pizza messily like a couple of orcs from Lord of the Rings. I think they have an actual brick oven. The pizza was like you would find on the east coast. Huge traditional hand tossed. If people wouldn't act like shit bags, this place would not need security. read more

I really love The Jager and it's one of my favorite bars in Greeley, especially because of its vibe and location. It's downstairs from another large bar and the walls are made from rough-hewn rocks. They have a fireplace and dim lighting, which makes for an overall cool feel. Not to mention, they serve pizza and that pizza is pretty damn good. The bar staff are all helpful, friendly, and fast. I've never had to wait very long for a drink. They have extensive knowledge of different cocktails and are often willing to try different combos if you tell them what's in it. They have different promotions on different nights, which makes for a really good time as well. Their prices are pretty cheap and it's a great place to hang out, especially because they have lots of available seating. read more

This place takes me back to my childhood! It reminds me of that scene in Goonies when they're peeing in the cave and Mikey experiences his first kiss from Andy during a case of mistaken identity. Unfortunately, that's where the whimsy ends, because that's exactly what it smells like... pee in a cave. They just opened up a pizza kitchen in this great little basement bar. Kind of hard to find on 9th street underneath another bar... Cozy atmosphere, and the pizza is suprisingly good for Greeley! Sometimes short on seating and no tap beer but worth checking out for sure. read more

I'll say this since I didn't want to take any legal action. But I can leave a yelp review lol. I worked at the jager and between the mold and inch to two inches thick in the food and alcohol storage. It's the negligent owners who know nothing going on and gave me bounced checks. Garrett the manager of the pizza doesn't care about employees or the sanitary state of the place. Water seeps up under the tile, no one ever cleaned anything besides another worker and I. And oil leaks into a lot of the dough and ovens. A wall is completely falling down and again there's again 1-2 inches thick mold all on the floor of storage. If you want good drinks the bartenders are amazing and great people. Other than that I'd avoid and just go to the box literally right next to it or any other bar. I even used to tell people we had the best pizza but order dominos instead so you don't get any mold or any other contaminations. read more

I came here on 21st birthday and had a fabulous time! The place was jammin' so it was hard to hear but it was a Thursday night when they have great drink specials. The dirty girl scout shots was to die for! I could have kept drinking those babies all night long. The bar staff is friendly and knowledgable and make damn good shots. As a bar, this place serves its purpose. It's crazy dark, has low ceilings and is pretty much a dive lounge below the more raucous Penalty Box upstairs, where there are regular beer pong tournaments. At any rate, as a bar this place is fine and would get a 3* review. What takes Jäger over the top is their ridiculous pizza. Seriously some of the best thin crust pizza I have ever had. It would be right in place in Manhattan. Real talk. Slices to order and pies that have to be turned on their side to fit through a door. Incredible, folding slices with the perfect chewy crust. The fact that pizza this good exists in a town this size is mind boggling. It's that good. read more

Wat o did find out u wasnt The only one who brought a child in the bar. Theta are allowed to come into bars before 8pm. So interesting Mommy needs a break lol. Incompetent staff - Here is my experience from tonight 1. Staff is supposed to stamp your hand and give you a wrist band when you enter the establishment after paying a 5 dollar cover charge. Tonight, the staff only stamped my wrist. I did not know I was supposed to get a wrist band also, but unknowingly walked in anyway. 2. Staff is supposed to make sure you are wearing a wrist band to serve you liquor. I got served despite not having a wrist band. 3. Staff will charge you another 5 dollars to re-enter the establishment without a wrist band. When they don't believe you, they demand another 5 dollars to re-enter the establishment. 4. If you pay the 5 dollars again and have an attitude about being angry about having to pay the fee twice due to their incompetence, they will deny you entry 5. They will refuse to refund the 5 dollars for an unused wristband. 6. Your Friends will be refused entry when they defend your position 7. Your fun night will be ruined. But at least you will always remember the 5' 5" blonde bouncer Surfer Wannabe Neanderthal who felt pretty cool having authority over a dump in the middle of Greeley. Obviously, I am upset however if your organization would listen to your customers instead of immediately passing judgment I would have a different perspective. You staff did nothing to make the situation right and all that resulted was unnecessary frustration for the entire group. I know this is a lot of anger over 5 dollars, however unfortunately due to the actions of your immature staff I will not be supporting your organization in the future. At least as stated before, I'm not missing out because let's face it, your place is a dump. read more

The room seems better than the concept in food and name. It's been so many things over the years in downtown Greeley. Love the brick walls and the little fireplace. Hope it hangs on or changes for the better. Why not food upstairs at the Box? Downtown still needs a decent burger and some Pub Grub. Go check out FOCO or Boulder for examples. This complaint is for the "box"- absolutely horrendous establishment. Several friends were not allowed in due to hand tattoos (please note these tattoos are in no way distasteful and included a wedding date and Native American heritage). The front door men stated that no one with hand tattoos were allowed in, I had no idea that people are still able to be discriminated against due to appearance. Absolutely ridiculously, I will never support a place that judges customers off looks alone. Very disappointed. read more
