Had a party of 19 people and they give us only one server named Cassandra, who was rude and slow. Eventually orders were taken care of and when it was time to pay Cassandra misplaced one of my members credit cards insisting she returned it, but it was found where the pitchers of tea are kept. I'm from the DFW area, but whenever I'm in east TX visiting friends or family we tend to meet here for lunch or dinner. The food is always good and the service is great. This last time I tried their flauta's and they were like none I'd never had before. They weren't crunchy like other places I've tried......these were light and airy but SO good!!!! I wish they had the option for negative 10 stars for this place. The food was decent but to me that no longer matters after horrible customer service for no complete reason. From the time we walked in the door there was no formal greeting from the hostess she look at me and my coworker and shrugged her shoulders and said table or booth. We get to the booth and our server was hands down one of the worst I have experienced in my life. She acted very bothered the two times she came to our table as if she didn't want to wait on us. Ok cool whatever I just want a good drink and some food. She never offered drinks nor suggested anything when I said hmm I wonder what their best drink is she looked at me and my coworker and said I can come back if you don't know what you want. Again I'm like ok whatever I don't even want a drink anymore just bring me a sweet tea. 15 minutes later I get this black cup of only God knows what it was horrible. Ok after that I'm still like whatever I'm thirsty so I drink it anyway glad I did because that one cup was all I had. My coworker asked for a straw 3 times like why must we ask for what should have been given upon taking my drink order. Honestly I didn't even eat my meal at that point I just wanted to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible. What made the whole experience so bad was our waiter had great customer service when she went to all of the tables around us. Never returning here again not even worth it. My fist mind told me to just go to Little Mexico where they have great food and excellent customer service. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. read more

I would have given Jalapeno Tree 3 stars, but they serve that pre-cut, chemically treated lettuce and it totally ruins the flavor of their food. Great chips & salsa and fajitas and better than average standard TexMex fare such as tacos, enchiladas, and chalupas, as well as tortilla soup, but the lettuce has a horrible taste. I wish they would switch to fresh or at least rinse off the preservative that prevents pre-cut lettuce from turning brown. Yuck! read more

This is my favorite Mexican food place. You never have to wait and even on Valentines Day we were served well and quickly. I had a luncheon Quesadilla and it was delicious. I also enjoy their green sauce and chips as they are very light. I have had several items there and all were good. read more

Excellent food! The avacado dip that comes with the chips was so tasty that we asked for more. I had the shrimp enchiladas for my entree. The tequila cream sauce was amazing! My dining companion had the stuffed poblano pepper, and said it was possibly the best that she had ever had. My iced tea was never allowed to go empty which I appreciated. I spent $60 on a to go order today from the Longview Jalapeño Tree and found a HUGE rusty paper clip in my tortilla soup. I bit down on it and that is disgusting. Upon calling the manager she offered a free cup of soup. Who would want more paper clip soup? This is so disappointing as we have been frequent Jalapeño Tree customers since moving here. My wife and I come here at least once a month. We absolutely love this restaurant. We have tried many different items on the menu but our love lies with the Eldorado Jack fajita with chicken and steak. We also get the white queso with jalapenos. The only reason we don't give it a five is because the waiting staff is hit and miss and when they miss they'll miss hard. Meaning they can be rude and uninviting. read more

Unfortunately, I have to wait till we come out to Longview, TX to see my boyfriend's mom to eat here, but it's always a stop when we do! The food is great (I normally get the Relleno when I come). It's lightly breaded and the pepper is pretty big! They bring out salsa and chips at the start of the meal along with a jalapeño cream sauce that is cool, goes with a lot of stuff, and isn't spicy if you don't like that sort of thing. If you do like spicy, like me, they have a lot of options for that too. The service can be a little slow even when they're not busy but it isn't terrible. They also have free soft serve ice cream for after dinner! read more

For the second time in as many years, My Wife and I went to eat lunch. Ordered Cheese enchalada dinner. The food was cold when it got to Our table, the "refried "beans looked like something else, the "mexican" rice was cold and had NO taste, and the queso on the enchaladas tasted like melted velveeta with a pimento pepper added for a visual. I sat at the bar and had my dinner. Bartender was very nice and made sure I had everything I needed. Food was good and I will go back again.

Pulled in and saw the parking lot was almost packed, that's always a good sign. Nice, clean establishment with friendly staff. The food is absolutely great, I had the munchies so I ordered the El Paso Quesadilla and the Shrimp Taco. Once my wife laid her eyes on my taco, it was over, but I imagine it was every bit as delicious as she said it was. Definitely will be returning . Oh btw, would have given a 5 star waiting but had to wait a bit longer than expected for my call ahead order to be ready : was told 20 minutes but was actually closer to 45. I have not eaten at a Mexican restaurant for years due to multiple food allergies and being both lactose-intolerant & Celiac. I was reluctant to enter. I was accommodated in everything. Chicken fajitas cooked separately, delicious & soft steamed squash, refried beans and a lemon for more flavoring. Meat was moist. I could not believe the corn tortillas were corn that came in the steamer for my fajita. They were fluffy and soft. GF bread is hard, tasteless, and crumbly. I was eating for real again! The waitress was always nearby and asking if the food was okay for everyone. Word to all Celiacs or lactose-intolerants...come here! read more
