We came here for dinner since it was close to where we were camping at Caddo Lake and since we didn't have the bandwidth to bring camping food with us for cooking on this trip. It's very cute inside and the staff are all friendly. Quality is...about what you might expect in Jefferson, Texas for Tex Mex. The margs (frozen and rocks) were made with the sickly-tasting premixed stuff that tastes like sugary chemicals. The salsa was too runny and the guac did not taste fresh. Side of refried beans were the usual, as was the kid's quesadilla (which was only 1/2 the usual size!). The carne asada plate was actually more pleasant with a decent enchilada on it and red sauce on it as well as some greased up beans that tasted good but that felt like they were clogging your arteries the second they went down. We don't even want to think about where the meat was from! Don Juan's was about what we were expecting, so there was no disappointment. Three stars. They were nice and trying hard. read more

We tried this place for the first time with take out. $72 for 3 people and all 3 orders were incorrect. They forgot the nachos on the botanas. They put chili beans on the chimichanga instead of spicy queso. My seafood chile relleno was supposed to have tequila cream sauce, it had queso. I called and was told there was nothing they could do about it. He said he had written it down correctly and the kitchen/cook messed it up, not him. He then tried to tell me what nachos were, etc. I asked for a manager, there wasn't one. I asked for a supervisor and was told they don't have one of those either. He said I should bring everything back and let him check it out. Not driving 30 minutes there late at night in a thunderstorm. Food was not bad, not great, not worth $72. ***Called back the next day and spoke with a supervisor who offered to replace our order correctly upon our next visit.*** read more

Came in to get some dessert - stayed for some spinach quesadillas and were pleasantly surprised. Service was great - chips with salsa to begin with, then spinach quesadilla and finally some yummy fried ice cream. Good Mexican restaurant.in Marshall TX. read more

Very friendly, cozy restaurant. Cool music with lots of Mexican 80s hits like Luis Miguel. Surprisingly one of the best margaritas on the rocks I've had around too! Menu looks pretty diverse, lots and lots of options include enchiladas of some sort. Options for many different meats and seafood as well. The seafood enchilada was fantastic. Flautas were pretty good too. Portions were good as well. Staff were super nice too. A nice spot that we found incidentally and would def recommend for a nice relaxing and filling meal. read more

A chile relleno burrito is usually a flour tortilla with refried beans spread all around, add the Chile relleno that's filled with ground beef & cheese, then wrapped like a burrito and toasted on the outside!!! read more

Can you rate lower than a 1? Service awful. Food was awful. Waitress was nice but she was on here own and it was like her third day! Poor girl. Food was bland and just drenched in queso. No bueno! Don't wast your money. They make taco bell look great. read more

They are loaded and generous and best with the white ranch and not the thick creamy chipotle sauce. Other items are good there too including the fajita nachos, the pechuga chipotle or pechuga michoacana and a recent the enchiladas rancheras. This is all good Tex-Mex though....you probably can't go wrong with much that is here. The atmosphere is okay, nothing exceptional. They do have TVs to watch and many times tuned to the cooking channels. The price is always very good here and mostly under $15. They do have fountain Diet Dr Pepper. The service is mostly fast here. All of the wait staff have helped us at some point. They are nice and some more so than others. The young lady who is always smiling is our favorite but we like the older chip lady and the young Mexican waitress is always friendly. But really most all of them there are too. To say we will go back is an understatement. We go probably 1-2 times a month. In all, we have probably been here several dozen times. read more

This review is in need of an update. I believe, as do many other that I have talked to, that Don Juan's has slipped significantly in quality in recent months. I can't put my finger on what has changed, but the food, in general, seems less fresh and less tasty. The service is still OK (although their best witness Shenna is no longer there). But it's in danger of dropping to two and a half stars in my book. read more

Food came out cold...took 15 minutes before she came to table to ask if we needed anything after she put the food on our table and took off to the back. Fajitas not sizzling at all...plus no tortillas with fajitas. Chicken chimichanga came out with beef ...2nd time came out with chicken and room temperature..3rd time wife did not eat it. Tried to slip us regular caso instead of white caso and I know for a fact she knew it was wrong. Refried beans with fajitas were almost black and swimming in grease...everyone else's beans were almost white....wtf. rolled the dice and crapped out. read more

1-4-16 Ordered side of guacamole $1.50 they sent out the large order $4.50 . I sent it back and they sent back the smaller order ( waitress did not understand english very well ) Went to pay for it and they would not take it off , charged me the $4.50. We eat there three or four times a month and there are six to eight of us in the party. Will not be back. read more
