Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and seated.. the restaurant was clean and the environment was inviting. They had all of the specials posted and immediately took our drink orders.. they brought hot fresh made tortillas (hot) with butter and honey (oh my yumm) .. chips and salsa ..they also have a new taqueria style creamy green sauce that I was thrilled about and ordered it was $1.99 . .. and so worth it! We ordered the combination plate from the lunch menu with a fried taco, and cheese enchiladas with queso and one with chili sauce then rice and beans for the two sides.. oh my goodness all of it was so good that cheese enchilada with Queso was definitely my favorite! We also ordered the fajitas they came out sizzling with a melted butter sauce .. the fajitas were flame grilled and melted in my mouth .. I didn't love that the garnishments - cheese,sour cream and pico were and additional price $1.99 as I felt like that should be standard w fajitas! But no big deal minor complaint .. Im not kidding when I say this is my favorite restaurant. Anytime I visit Texas I have to come here and I think about it all the time. This was my first visit while being over 21, so I finally got to try a margarita and it was so good! The food is amazing and they really give you so much! You get tortillas with squeeze butter, chips and salsa, and sopapillas all complimentary with the meal!! I got enchiladas and they were delicious. I highly highly recommend the pineapple margarita with chamoy and tajin added, it's to die for! The service was also so quick and incredible, and the ambiance is so fun and so Texas. read more

We came here on Cinco de Mayo so of course it was VERY busy. But I am impressed how well that handled that, it was also a popular weekend for this area which we had already seen. They had someone taking the names and the wait considering how many people were there was not bad and they had more staff than most places. It was a fun place even though it was packed and noisy, they had security there with a off duty officer by the door, I don't know if that is all the time or just for the holiday. They had several displays by the door and some of it for sale. They decorations were fun, a buffalo with a sombrero, shot glasses, shirts for sale and other types of alcohol drink ware. There was nothing overall wrong, the whole experience was well done. I don't know if the restaurant is this popular normally and if so it may not be the place if you don't like crowds or waits, again they were fast but it was packed so it was loud and while we didn't have much trouble getting our food or drinks there were periods where it was longer to usual to get refills but that was understandable. Once we got seated at a small table near the kitchen area and we had the chips and salsa, then ordered the queso of course. Our waitperson was friendly and fast, again given how busy it was, she didn't seem flustered or overwhelmed. The drinks were good and tasty which is always important to us. After looking over the menu I went with my standby of chicken Fajitas which were good, the chicken and beans which is what I put on them along with any queso or cheese offered. Shana got Chicken Flautas and loved them. She was very happy with the food and service. We only went the once, it has outside dining as well but as hot as it was we usually don't opt for that but it is an option if you like, there is a small bar area as well. This would be a place I wouldn't mind trying again if we are in the area. Sadly I tend to be a bit behind on these reviews so I forget some things and I am working on that to be closer to the day we go or eat there. So some of this is not fully fleshed out. read more

Ok. I'm going to start this review off by making some comments about Tex-Mex food in my native city of Houston, TX. It is definitely a dog-eat-dog situation over there. There is so much competition in that city as far as Tex-Mex cuisine, that you really have to innovate recipes that are time-honored, and you have to have outstanding service in Houston in order to survive. That being said, I feel confident that Posado's Cafe could stand up in that kind of hostile environment and succeed. It is no secret among my closest friends that I am a Tex-Mex food snob, and for the couple of times I've been here, I was thoroughly impressed. Their chile relleno, in particular, is among the best that my family has ever tried, period. Their salsa verde is VERY close to the taqueria green sauce that you would find with some tacos al pastor or other variant of taco. Their fajitas are really good, and their charro beans just rock. The only thing that kind of weirds me out, admittedly enough, is the squeeze butter. I know it's for the tortillas along with the honey, but I've seen plenty of people put the squeeze butter in their salsa in order to tame down the spice. I just have to cringe greatly at that, because the Tex-Mex food snob in me is silently screaming, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" LOL. But I know it's a personal preference thing, because a lot of Tex-Mex restaurants in Longview offer that to cater to their guests. So I'll keep my mouth shut about that from this point. All in all, Posado's Cafe has the potential to receive a weekly patronage, in my book. I will be back to see you. Maybe I'll get a sopapilla next time. read more

Had the Birria tacos today at lunch . They were the worse I have ever had . Limp , very greasy and no cheese . There were 3 of them and the plate was puddled with grease could not even pick them up . Only a table spoon or so of meat . Took one bite and told waitress to take them back . She did but never asked if I wanted something else , she didn't care ! They did take them off the bill though . I went hungry , just some chips and bits off my wife's plate . Horrible service also . The waitress was cold and didn't care . Never again!! read more

I visited Longview for work and stopped here after a long car ride. The social distancing thing was definitely in place, and the server was wearing a mask. Everyone was very friendly but respectful. The food was fantastic! Even enough to bring home for later. I would love to see this place during the regular normal hours like maybe how it used to be. Best chicken burrito bowl! Don't bother with the tortilla soup it was seasoned good but looked like scraps the vegetables were huge way too big for soup they put full size hard carrot sticks in it for God knows why inedible at best the cilantro stems were a pain to pick out and the 3 pieces of chicken were chunks that looked just like canned chicken . read more

I'm new in Longview and wanted to find a good Mexican restaurant. This one was pretty good. They are a bit short staffed but you'll get seated ASAP. This was a Sunday night. Location wise it's kinda iffy. The strip mall almost looks deserted. The only colorful thing in the shopping mall is this place. We were seated in the back of the restaurant, drink orders were taking and then the food order. Daughter ordered a margarita on the rocks and it was about four sips and it was gone!!! Granddaughter order fajitas beef, I believe it had about strips of meat on a small skillet. For 19.99 I don't think is worth it. She said it was good but not enough. I had the posado which was a cheese enchilada, beef enchilada with beef gravy, a crispy taco, borracho beans and rice. The enchiladas were delicious. Crispy taco was good and stuffed that half my ingredients fell out. It also included a chicken flauta. Rice was good but looking at the borracho beans looked like soup. I'm Puerto Rican so I like my beans on my rice. It passed. I was full from the tortillas that they bring hot to the table so that you can put butter and honey on them. The salsa was individually set up at each place . The guacamole came and you mix it up. It was also delicious. All in all we enjoyed the food, service was attentive and done very well. She apologized for a mistake and took responsibility for the error. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is there is a bull hanging in the wall that was dirty, dusty and disgusting. If I had to keep looking at the filth I was going to be sick. Either clean it or get rid of the damn thing!! The rest of the restaurant was clean. read more

I always order delivery but can never get a side of tortillas on the side, even tho they are free when you dine in. I call to see if I I can choose something of similar value on the menu and sub for tortillas and this employee tell me no. & to be clear I have no problem paying for the tortillas, there is just not a option on any delivery site to order a side. When in Longview, TX you have many choices of Tex-Mex but if you want some of the best you have to stop into "Pasados" baby. They been doing this for a long time and they do it right. First off the restaurant is huge, Amazing friendly atmosphere, waitstaff is the best in class and the food hits the soul. I usually get the chicken flautas plate. They also start you out with some warm flour tortillas( add some honey and butter) while you wait for your order. What a difference a day and a menu change makes.... I've had to take away three of the previous stars and we have not received our entree yet. We have been told by our server that we could NOT have or add a side of shrimp with the chicken tacos because they won't give her the food if she placed that order. Also with the kids meals we asked of there was apple juice to go with the kids meals and she brought us hospital type apple juice and told us they were $2.50 each..... 4 ounces of apple juice is $2.50 with the kids meals. We were greeted at the door and taken to our table with was back in the back like in a corner. We waiting about 8 minutes before we even talked to. Posados Cafe has always been my go-to for THE BEST chicken fajitas and tonight, they didn't disappoint. Our party included eight with four separate tickets, so I was prepared for slower than normal service. At first, our chips and salsa were being eaten faster than we expected, however, our waiter Marcus Hanson, was up for the challenge. I knew I wanted chicken fajitas without green peppers and the chicken tortilla soup - both my favorite, also at Marcus' suggestion, I ordered the lime cilantro rice, so I looked forward to this new side. From the start, our waiter did a great job and was able to recall our drinks without asking and was up to the challenge of refilling our salsa and chips while the kitchen prepared our meals. One of the ladies with us gave Marcus the heads up before our meals ever came out that we would all want sopapillas afterwards, but I don't think he realized how serious she was...anyways, the meals did take a little longer than I expected. When the meal did come out, I can honestly say it was spot on. He got my order completely right! I was not a huge fan of the lime cilantro rice because it was slightly undercooked but the rice did have good flavor. I would be willing to try it again. We did have to remind Marcus about the sopapillas, but when he brought them out, he went above and beyond our expectations. He brought out new forks, plates and a brand new bottle of honey syrup to go with them. Overall, great service! I highly recommend Posados for a large group setting.
