Went to the Surprise location, didn't have to wait long. Dr Rich took a lot of time to go over everything and make me feel comfortable. Fixed me up so I could get back home to Las Vegas :-) It does appear to be a heavy sales environment, with wanting you to buy sessions. That didn't apply to me since I have insurance and a Chiropractor at home. However it is nice to know that when I am not at home, I can pop into any joint in the country :-) read more

There are a few Chiropractors here that are reliant on the drop table and snap device. It's sad how some are incapable of manually adjusting someone. You could tell a good chiropractor from a bad one from this here style. At this here facility I only recommend using Dr. Rich and Dr. Counts, everyone else is garbage. Overall, most of the doctors here are very weak at best. The only two that ever have been able to adjust me on our consistent basis or Dr. Rich and Dr. Tyler I just left and saw another doctor there, I've seen the same lady twice over the last couple years and both times I walked away like I had literally just Wasted 40 minutes of my day. I asked her if there was any more adjustments to do because all she had me do is lay flat push on my back from my hips to my neck and she kept saying ooh ow that must really hurt, and there was zero adjustments or movements that I could personally feel. I know this doctor is trying, but she does not have the physical ability to adjust and manipulate me. She asked me to stand up and said don't go too fast. I moved you a lot... I rolled my eyes. She then told me she couldn't adjust me anymore as there was too much movement in my back. Frankly, there was zero movement in my back, this was a waste of trip, a wasted credit, I'm literally going down the street to the other location to burn yet another credit just hopefully to get some relief today. So, the chiropractic care is alright. It's like a five minute service though, so if you expect to sit and chat with a chiro and have a lengthy appointment with someone to address your issues, then this is not the place. What I am giving one star for is that I cancelled my membership and STILL got charged a monthly membership fee, even after I cancelled. I have tried numerous times to reach out to their customer service and I NEVER get a response. It's seriously the most frustrating thing ever. Front staff wasn't the friendliest but it was also very busy. Despite being a lot of people there the wait wasn't too bad for a walk in on a Tuesday at 3pm. The doctor was attentive, asked questions, genuinely interested in your area of pain, did his adjustments, then gave his recommendations. I did appreciate how he took his time to explain the medicine, his physical exam findings, and he was friendly/seemed to care. The cost is actually cheaper then my co-pay insurance covers when you sign up for there wellness plan it comes out to about 11$/visit with a minimum of 2 months commitment. read more

The Joint is a franchise that's everywhere, in many major cities across the United States. With an aggressive marketing campaign and very affordable prices, it seems ideal for people who like natural methods to help keep them in shape. Unfortunately, precisely *because* this is a franchise, and it's the nature of franchises to spread as quickly as possible, The Joint has become big business. And "big business" and "individualized health care" cannot co-exist in the same place. I have seen some very qualified and competent chiropractors at the Bell Road location and at the office in Lake Pleasant. However, with a volume of sometimes reportedly 60 clients a day, the chiropractors get overworked and care from even the best practitioner can and does suffer. Recently I was the last client (the place closes at 7:00 pm), and the chiropractor whom I often see was so tired (and in pain herself, from working so hard for so many hours) that I actually left worse than when I had come in. In fact, three times within the last year, I left in agony because the adjustments actually made me worse! One time, it took a full week (and a visit to another bodyworker entirely, not at The Joint) to fix the misalignment that I suffered at the hands of one of The Joint practitioners. The company doesn't take care of its practitioners because its motto seems to be "expand no matter what, and fill up the place at all times." No practitioner can offer optimal care for everyone without several scheduled breaks or at least a more leisurely pace--but quality care can't be provided if the company's goal is to get as many bodies through the door as possible in the shortest amount of time. Because of the company's obvious goal to expand, the wait times for clients have become a huge problem. When I first joined, sometimes I could walk in and be seen right away, or experience a wait time of not more than 15 minutes. Now (as of August 14, 2021), it has been common to wait a full hour. The front desk personnel have consistently underestimated the wait time, telling me 20 minutes when I've actually had to wait 45 minutes, or telling me 45 minutes when in reality I've had to wait for one hour and 15 minutes. Sometimes when I chose to wait on a bench outside the office, or gone shopping at nearby Sprouts, the front desk people were very considerate and came outside to get me or texted me that a practitioner was almost ready for me. However, this could not compensate for the fact that my time is too valuable to hang around for over an hour for a 10-minute adjustment. I live nearby--so what about calling first to find out how packed the place is? What a great idea. But at least half the time when I called first to find out the wait time, the phones either kept ringing or I reached only the voicemail. I recall someone calling me back once in over the year that I was going. When I finally complained to the front desk, they gave me a card with the "correct" number to call (apparently many of the calls are outsourced to a call center, which hardly ever picks up the phone)--but that *was* the number I had been calling! What business doesn't answer their phone? A good solution would be to have an online tally so customers could actually see how many clients are before them at any given time. However, it's unlikely that this would ever be implemented. The phones don't work properly; as of this writing, for three weeks the automatic scanner to sign in clients hasn't been working (giving the front desk people even more to do, as they have to sign in people manually); and for as long as I was going there, none of the drop tables worked well, either. The equipment is old and even though the tables had been repaired (I was told), they still don't work well. One signpost of a well-run place is working equipment. Enough said! I have received some excellent care from Dr. Ioli; occasionally the manager Dr. Chris Smith (who was very attentive to my concerns about how the place was run and gave me personalized, fabulous adjustments two times); and Dr. Tyler, who tailors his manipulations to what you need and doesn't do the same adjustment each time (a rarity). However, Dr. Tyler is understandably the busiest practitioner there, and Dr. Smith isn't there much (he fills in when they are short on practitioners). I can no longer tolerate the cattle car mentality that The Joint has become. (I am sure that the staff will be relieved not to see me there any more, as I have become very grumpy and even hostile when I enter and see 15 or 20 people waiting for their turn.) If you are a very patient person, can afford to waste time hanging around waiting, and your needs for pain relief aren't too complex, The Joint is good value. However, after having gone to The Joint for a couple of years, with longer and longer wait times and uneven care from overworked practitioners, I decided I deserve better. I have come to see that you get what you pay for. read more

Front desk is great! But that's where anything positive about it stopped. First I set there listening to the doctors talk about who had to adjust me because I was a new patient. Highly unprofessional and embarrassing for me. Then the doctor spent the appointment taking about her previous career. She did not help me feel better at all. She did not seem to know what she was doing. She said "well you can't get everything for $29!" All I needed was my neck and upper back adjusted. Yes I had pain down my spine but that was why and expressly told her that. She then tried to sell me a plan to continue to see her. No thanks! I went directly to another chiropractor at another clinic because I felt no better after leaving the joint. I received excellent care and pain relief immediately at that appointment. I will never go back to the Joint because that chiropractor was awful. I've seen a chiropractor every 1-2 weeks for 20 years while traveling as a nurse. I've seen a lot of different doctors. Some ok some excellent. This one was the first time I have had a bad one and she was the worst. I do Not recommend. What a waste of money and time. I had heard good things about 1 specific doctor who was not there that day. To the ones that were there DO BETTER before you give chiropractic care a bad name. read more

This is my second review of Dr. Bidlack at The Joint in Surprise. He's short of a miracle worker which I know sounds so clichésish! But seriously I have had this debilitating neck/shoulder pain for a few months and it was really interfering with my quality of life. He actually discovered the problem almost immediately and remedied it just as quickly as it had appeared. He told me that I should be feeling better as soon as I got off the table and I did. OMG! The gal at the front desk is so kind and handles a lot professionally with no fuss. The other Doctors that are there now are new and I have not seen before. I only can recommend Doctor Tyler. He is professional and amazing! I also liked everyone I had seen at the Waddell location as well, but he is my favorite. I think he is many peoples favorite! They do a gentle adjustment that is effective. My last chiropractor who had moved and was just too far did some crazy stuff on us and both seem to be just as effective. We are all different so we all have our own needs and comfort. Different does not mean ineffective. The only one I recommend staying away from is doctor Rich at least from neck adjustments. He does have a true heart for the practice and really means well. I can tell he really wants to take care of others. I seen him adjust the gal at the front desk so I know she trusts him. I saw him once. I never have neck issues I just was having back issues getting older and lifting grand babies full time. Mainly I went for to maintain health. He adjusted my neck and it just felt off. I told him it did not feel right. He said I probably slept wrong. I was like well I didn't have any neck pain or issues before I came in. It was just off after the adjustment. I noted to myself that I wont be doing that with him again. That afternoon I started getting super dizzy. I had nausea. For 2 weeks I got worse and thought something major was wrong. I went to the doctor and all my blood work was perfect. I donate blood regularly and my iron was great. He sent me for xrays and a mri and told me my C1 was off that I was misaligned. I went to my old chiropractor with my xrays and he immediately adjusted me. He said he hopes that works. If not we may have some issues. It was a Friday. It took until the following Monday to stop throwing up and the dizziness to go away, That was the worst 6 weeks of my life. My whole existence revolved around my neck. I was so sad that one adjustment changed my life forever so I thought. My doctor sent me to the core institute for therapy since there was so much pain. It took 2 10 weeks sessions of physical therapy visits. Twice a week. It took just over a year to get back to normal. I am so thankful to be me again and with no neck issues. I also seen doctor Tyler for follow up visits as well. What really disappointed me is when I contacted The Joint about the situation I was not looking for any compensation. Nor was I seeking anything bad to happen to Dr. RIch Just maybe for them to talk to Dr. Rich. The Joint never apologized. Never contacted me nothing. The gal in the front said she told a manager. Who knows who the manager is. No one ever contacted me back. She gave me 3 free visits since I now had to go to doctor Tyler 2 to 3 times a week. That was nice, but following thru and reaching out would have been much more appreciated so it could prevent it happening to another client again. It makes a client feel like you don't care. I left more than one message to speak with the manager and no response. I even filled out a how are we doing and shared what happened and nothing. They do gentle effective care, but you can still be injured. I never have been injured in the 30 years I have been going to a chiropractor. It can happen so just be careful and choose wisely. The Joint really needs better communication and follow up. I have been reached out to in a DM since my review for my full name (which is correct on Yelp) and birth date and I have replied. No response yet. I know I am in the system for when I call it recognizes us in their system. PS: Would be thoughtful if they could wipe down the tables in between clients with all that is going on at this time. Referred my husband here as our prior chiropractor had moved and is just too far. Within 1 minute of speaking with a "Dr" I was given the sales pitch that I would need to come in once a week. Really? I decided that was my second and final visit. It had been three years since my first visit and I quickly remembered why I had not returned for so long. Not an ex-ray machine for 8 Miles but he could tell me everything that was wrong with my neck in that first minute. This visit was like a time share seminar for the spine. Has to sell you something and it's fairly high pressure! $40 a visit for a 5 minute adjustment. Crazy how many fools sitting in the waiting room and I'm sure more than half have insurance that will pay for it. Not here as they don't take insurance. They would like to enroll you in the adjustment of the month club by offering to accept your credit card and DEDUCT automatic monthly payments. The staff was certainly pleasant so no complaints there, just the business model to generate more revenue gave me the impression that my health is a very very distance second Use your insurance and go to a regular practice. read more

I have been so happy with all the Doctors @ the Surprise location and they are very professional and knows just what you need. I have had several knee surgeries which throws my back out of alignment but no matter how much pain I'm in, they are always helping me heal step but step even telling me what to do at home. I brought my husband in for an adjustment (his back was locked up and he was in a lot of pain). As soon as we walked in I could hear several people complaining about the wait and that people weren't being called back in the correct order. We get checked in and were waiting for at least 20 min when a woman that came in after us gets called back before us which is really annoying so I look to the receptionist to find out what's going on and she comes over to my husband with a clipboard asking him to fill out his info since it had been over two years since he was last seen. I totally understand why he needs to update his info but I don't understand why she would make us wait 20 minutes before giving us the paperwork. Once we fill it out he gets called back and the Dr is great but it seems like the people they hire for the front end need to be trained better. read more

Went in for my 1st consultation and received a treatment from Dr. Rumage (possibly misspelled). She was smart and knowledgable and was able to pinpoint my areas that were in pain. Setup for future appointments were made. Pros: Price ($49 per 4 visits), Dr. Rumage, quick & convenient. Cons: no X-Ray setup, quick (more detailed session needed for some people) & no massage therapy offered. If you're looking for a quick adjustment this is your place. I guess this place helps some people with their 10-15 minutes fixes, but to me it's too impersonal and not in depth enough each visit--and I don't like going back again and again and again when I KNOW what is wrong could be fixed in 2 longer visits as I've gone thru this same problem before one time. I guess if you don't mind wasting the time and the money to drive back and forth this place is for you. Plus, if you add up the cost of say 12 visits = $150 you could probably get yourself into shape cheaper with 2 longer visits somewhere else. The staff is always friendly!! Doctors are great at what they are doing. I highly recommend them if you need adjusting. First, I will say that this place isn't for everyone. If you're looking for x-rays and a long-term treatment plan, then the Joint won't work for you. However, if you like frequent chiropractic adjustments to keep you "well adjusted" and feeling good, then this IS the place. They don't take insurance, but they do work with HSA's. They offer packages, monthly memberships, and overall reasonable fees. They are very affordable. No xrays, just maintenance adjustments. $59 per month gets you 4 adjustments... a great deal compared to $40 per visit at other chiropractor offices. Both Dr's at the Surprise location are very good....and I am picky about who adjusts my neck! I love that they are open evenings and weekends and no appointments needed! read more

Didn't even get an adjustment and I'm still disappointed! I can't move on a Sunday and them being "open" on Sundays was ZERO help at all. I called to find out if they take insurance or how the process works (I've never been to or needed a chiropractor in my life) and the woman told me if I could be there in 4 minutes then they could see me, since they REQUIRE you to be there 1 hour prior on your first visit. I was charged twice for my monthly membership and the lady at the front desk was not understanding or helpful at all. Then I cancelled my account, and they still charged me the next month. My experience here was horrid. First the receptionist was loud and unprofessional as my name is not dear. Even the couple next to me commented on how annoying and loud she was. Secondly this is more like a cattle call than a professional office. No treatments are performed in private but on open tables next to other people receiving treatments. Apparently they don't consider themselves to be "medical services" as they certainly don't provide the privacy of any other medical or chiropractic office I have ever been treated at. read more

I go to the one in Surprise on Bell Rd. The people at the front desk are friendly and most of the time are busy. I must say I love all three of the main doctors there. Dr. Tyler is awesome and very knowledgeable, his adjustments are always on point and releases the pain. He has been there since I started going to the Joint since May of 2018. I started going back to the Joint in November 2021 and met Dr. Rich, he is great and very thorough with his adjustments to my issues. Dr. Nicole is very good in measuring the alignments of back, hips, I would say of our whole body. She uses an instrument called the activator to loosen tight muscles and on certain points to release tension and does a few adjustment. All three doctors are professional, patient and listens to your issues. I don't drive so whoever drives me there either waits in the car or inside the office for me. So I don't mind seeing the doctor that has the least amount of waiting time. Seems like everyone who goes there has their preferred doctor they are all good it just depends who you like best. read more

As others have stated, Dr Tyler makes this location the best. While I have a location within 2 miles of my house, Dr Tyler is well worth the 25 minute drive. It obvious he cares about your specific needs and isn't trying to push you out just to get to the next person. Thanks Doc! read more
