I've been trying to get an adjustment at The Joint for the past four months, and almost every time I go in, I can't get seen because of the wait times and end up leaving each time.It's been really frustrating. Dr. Gow and Dr Fotter are amazing and does a great job once you finally get in, which is the only reason I kept trying. I just moved to the community from the Bay Area and was relieved that the The Joint was near where I live. My experience at this location was amazing, the front desk receptionist Sandra is very friendly and approachable. I had met with Dr. Fotter for my on-going TMJ, they don't specialize in TMJ but there are treatments that will help reduce the pain. I haven't felt normal on my right jaw for years. Been a member here for years even after they've fixed my neck and back pain, just to keep up with maintenance after work and the gym. I love the quality of customer care and having good relationships with the chiropractors and staff. It's usually only a 15 minute or less wait but it can get busy sometimes during peek hours so the app helps with holding your place in line and there are a lot of nearby places to kill time. read more

This place is always busy or at least has a 10+ minute wait which isn't bad for not giving an appointment. I definitely wouldn't try squeezing it in when you're in a tight time frame as you'll more thank likely be waiting. Almost 20 years ago I started a weight training regime that would turn into a personal hobby of mine. At the time, I can vividly remember an ex of mine scolding me about not warming up prior to workouts, and not stretching after workouts. My 19 year old, overly confident, ignorant self, tuned out (cue Charlie Brown's WAH WAH WAH) her wise suggestion. Fast forward to the present, my 39 year old body is feeling the ramifications of the lack of warmups and stretches. After a painful legs workout (workouts should never be painful), I found myself struggling to move due to pain circulating between my left hip and lower back. Following some research and YouTube viewings, I was able to diagnose this an imbalance with my hips. The resources that I viewed suggested that I consult with a chiropractor to assist with realigning my hips. After doing a quick search on Yelp, I found The Joint Chiropractic establishment five minutes away from my home with stellar reviews. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by an employee at the front desk. Being that it was my first time there, he informed me about the $29 new patient special that includes a consultation, exam, and adjustment. After signing some intake paperwork, I sat down and awaited my turn to receive an adjustment. Roughly 30 minutes later, I was being summoned by Dr. Cherry. Dr. Cherry was very personable and inquired about my occupation and hobbies. After explaining to Dr. Cherry the incident that occurred at the gym (along with the research that I did at home), he examined my legs and was able to see that my right hip appeared to be higher than my left (indicating that a possible strength deficiency on my right side led to me overcompensating with my left side). Using a digital anatomy diagram, Dr. Cherry confirmed the areas that I was experiencing discomfort and gave me an explanation of how those areas impact other muscle groups. While I laid on the chiropractic table, Dr Cherry made casual conversation to distract me from the adjustment process. Roughly eight minutes and six pops later, I emerged from the table feeling much more balanced than I felt coming in. Dr. Cherry explained to me that the issue could be remedied with a consistent chiropractic adjustment and stretch routine (I have since implemented both). To continue receiving adjustments, I ended up signing up for one of their packages. Now that I have been going on a regular basis, I see a huge improvement in not only my squat form (I can now squat evenly without favoring one side), but also in the amount of discomfort that I was experiencing. Thus far I have received adjustments from Dr. Cherry, Dr. Gene, and Dr. Gilley...all friendly and knowledgeable. I had this kink, more like a knot, on the left side of my neck since February. So, I tried different Joint locations hoping I would find a chiropractor that could fix my problem. I know they had tried, but somehow I didn't get any relief. A friend told me about the Joint at Elk Grove Commons. I went in and It happened that Dr. Charles Oliver was there. I really liked the way he adjusted my neck and all, so I went back the second time. He suggested that I need to get massage, too, to get more relief. So, in two weeks, I went to four different massage persons and the last two really help me to get my knot down to a small one now. Since then, I have less headache and shoulder pain, I would say the pain is down to like 2%. I went back to Dr. Oliver yesterday, Monday, Aug 4, 2025 and thank him for that suggestion. This is the first time a chiropractor has suggested massage. People, I would highly recommend to see Dr. Oliver, especially for his candid suggestion. read more

Dr. Gow was pleasant as was the receptionist. However,there were a few things that I really didn't like. 1) The doctor handled the bare feet of a patient for all to see and only used a quick squirt of hand sanitizer before coming over to my table. Knowing that he was about to place his hands on my face to adjust my neck, I was cringing. 2) Only mediocre chiropractors have failed at getting my adjustment to stick on the first visit (I come in as needed) with my particular situation. If their primary concern is $$$ then they'll just say "oh, it's a process, you have to keep coming back". Back, like once or twice a week. This despite me knowing my body and that it always works right for doctors who care more about their craft than their income. Listen to your patients, I explained this, but you were too rushed to care. 3) All the above seems hard to overcome for this practice since there's 3 tables set up in front of all the packed out patients. How is this possible since medical care should be private? I can't wait for the prepaid for visits to end. As suspected, I waited a few days and could tell the adjustment didn't work. I ended up driving to Stockton 2 weeks later to see a friend's chiropractor. He was very thorough, took the time and I felt great afterwards. read more

The Joint Chiropractic is amazing and provides everyone excellent care. I've been receiving treatment from Dr. Cherry since 2019 and he's a phenomenal chiropractor. More than likely Dr. Cherry will have a great wait time - which is totally understandable because he has magic hands, and by any means I'm not complaining about him not being able to treat me the minute I walk in through the door. So with that being said, don't be afraid to get adjusted by Dr. Gene! Dr. Gene is a great addition to Dr. Cherrys office. He takes his time, listens to your needs, and walks you through each step of your adjustment (just like Dr. Cherry). I've gotten adjusted by Dr. Gene a fair amount of times and I don't have a single complaint about him. It's great to have two chiropractors at the same location that loves their job, respect their patients, and care about your well-being. The Joint Chiropractic has many other locations in Sacramento with skilled Doctors and I love when I'm out and about running my errands I can stop by and get treated from them as well.
