My dad died unexpectedly. He lived in Dedham Ma. I live in S.E. Georgia. No one in my family knew of anyone to recommend in this area, so we googled Junk removal. The Junk removers name came up,we read some great reviews and decided to give them a try. We flew up north and met with "Lu" . He is the owner of the company. He was very thorough, organized,& professional.he took his time with us and after gave us a detailed estimate in writing.We decided to go with his company. Let's just say my dad was an organized Hoarder! ( not old food, but anything and everything else you could imagine.)Some area's of the house looked more like a maze than a room. As the owner of The Junk Removers, I feel the need to address this review about the customer who felt they were overcharged. I spoke to her on the phone and after describing the items she had I quoted her a price range starting at $155 (1/6 truck) and explained that the service is based on volume or the amount of space the guys fill up in the truck. They guys showed up and knew that she had more than originally identified and provided a revised price and asked her if was ok to proceed, she was surprised by the price of $570 (3/4 truck) and I spoke to her and explained the pricing and she said to do the job and I discounted it $30 to $540 given that there was misunderstanding. Then she decides make these statements. I called her and provided a refund of $140 to show that we do not "bait and switch" as she continued to believe she was overcharged. Right out of the gate-the guys at Junk Removers did EVERYTHING right. Lu worked out a fair price after a walk thru. My in-laws had moved into a 3 story townhouse in 1973 and had saved almost everything over the years. Lu and the crew-Jason, Kevin and John got everything loaded up in record time. They just put their heads down and WORKED--no phones, no breaks, no delays. They were all professional to deal with while being considerate and friendly and, while the work was being done, they were still thinking of a way to save me money regarding the loading of the trash and donation trucks. WHO does that??? Very honest and I would book and/or recommend them again in a heart beat! Being from VT and not knowing anyone in this area to trust and work with, they were a Godsend for me. Our contractor recommended this company to remove messy and dangerous piles of heavy debris that consisted of rotted wood (with nails) and broken up heavy slabs stucco with underwire that were in piles on our driveway and frozen lawn. They returned the call quickly, set up an appointment and came right on time. (They were actually ahead of schedule for the day and called to ask if they could come earlier.) It was a freezing cold day but the crew worked quickly and efficiently. The price was also very reasonable, especially given the weight of this stucco. We are very happy. I received nothing for writing this review except a fair price for the work. The workers were John and Tim, who came out of the Canton, MA office. They came on very short notice, fitting my job in at an early time (7:30 am). This was a nursing home room clear-out, and it needed to be done quietly not to disturb the residents. These guys were on time, efficient, careful, helpful, will get the 'junk' donated if it would be accepted (even if the customer didn't have time - that's me). We used Lu and his team 3 times over a period of five months to empty a house full with over 50 years of family history. Each time the team was great, working hard from the moment they arrived until they departed. Jim and John did a fabulous job! Just awesome! Arrived a few minutes earlier than scheduled and were so efficient. They were removing a couch and the first thing they did was hang heavy moving clothes around the doorframe to protect it. Then they came in, and in a matter of a few minutes they were done and gone.
